《A Deal in Disguise》CHAPTER 5: A MARRIAGE BOUNDED BY A DEAL

Every girl wants on her wedding the person she loves the most in this world to be present but in my case it's totally different.
I wanted Simon to be by my side on my wedding, leading me through the aisle but again he isn't here. He talked to me last night and said he can't come right now there are few things going on with his company.
I know things are not well with him but can't he for once come to see me. I am not getting married everyday.
The designer made this dress so fucking heavy. When I described it to him I didn't think it would be so freakin' hard to handle this stuff.
Well I wanted a dream wedding and to some extent it is going as I wanted.
Just like my books!
Well if you are wondering why to some extent that's because my husband is going to be the person who is super nice to me but he won't ever love me. By the way if you weren't wondering then ignore the above explanation.
While walking down the aisle when I raised my gaze the one person I saw, at this point I can say he is the most beautiful person I have seen in my life.
Rafael.
Oh Sweet Jesus! He is dressed just like the character in my book.
He was wearing a black tuxedo with white shirt inside all buttons of the shirt were neatly done. His hair was a bit messy but perfectly set. And that look overall looked breathtakingly hot.
When I finally reached close he extended his hand towards me I gladly took it and stood beside him.
The priest started with the vows.
I remained quiet listening to the priest excitedly. Why excitedly? Again I am not getting married everyday, of course I am excited.
After the vows will be done I have to click so many pictures with my oh-so-sweet-husband.
Sarcasm.
Anyways I have to post the pictures on my Instagram...
My wedding!!!
And tomorrow I'll be trending all over the news.
'The famous writer Hazel Cameron got married to Rafael Martinez!'
Oh Sweet Jesus! You could've made me a bit less beautiful for the girls not to get jealous of me.
*Mentally flips hair*
"Where were you last night?" Rafael whispered from beside me ignoring the priest completely.
"I think we should remain quiet." I whispered back.
He rolled his eyes "Well do you really think I will listen to that? I am Rafael Martinez, no one orders me what to do and what not to."
I rolled my eyes.
"Now tell me where were you? I called you three times."
"Somewhere."
"Really? And where exactly is that somewhere?"
"Don't know maybe hanging out with some very good-looking and exciting guy." I smirked looking at him moving my brows up and down.
He shook his head sighing "You're not gonna answer me, are you?"
"I too need some personal space."
"I hope that personal space doesn't involve sneaking out at night."
Oh it does.
"Nope." I lied without hesitation.
Of course without hesitation. I didn't want to ruin my only chance of getting out from that god damn house.

The priest looked at me and asked "Do you Hazel Cameron take Rafael Martinez as your lawful husband?"
I looked at Rafael once to find him staring at me already with a light smile on his lips.
I smiled then replied "I do."
This marriage can be just for a deal but I still have hope that I can work this out.
The priest looked at Rafael and asked "Do you Rafael Martinez take Hazel Cameron as your lawful wife?"
Not breaking the eye contact Rafael replied "I do."
"I now pronounce you as man and wife. May God bless you both. You may kiss the bride now."
The smile that was on his face now turned into a smirk.
Circling his arms around my waist he pulled me closer to himself my eyes closed automatically, he leaned towards me and just placed a light peck on the corner of my lips.
"You look gorgeous wifey." He whispered in my ears making me shiver in my place. With that he pulled away.
Disappointment.
This is not even a bit like my book. In my book at least the kiss was passionate and meaningful.
Sigh.
I guess I have to live with this unromantic man for a year now.
Oh Sweet Jesus! Save this little child of yours from the unromantic future waiting ahead in her life.
I was standing with Aaron watching him crying. Well not actually crying but fake crying.
He hugged me from sideways "I'm gonna miss you so much sisty. You were the only one who loved me and you too are leaving me now. Don't go sisty. Don't go."
Moving out of his hold I said "Oh Sweet Jesus! Aaron I am not going on a war that we won't meet ever again. I am married in the same country and city you are living in."
He held my hand making that sad crying face again "Sisty!!" And with that he rested his head on my shoulder and burst out into crying.
Wait did I say crying? Nope sorry my fault fake crying.
Rolling my eyes I patted his head.
"Sisty I'll visit you often. I know you are going to miss me too after all I am so good."
"Aaron you are giving yourself too much importance."
"Oh come on I know you love me just accept the truth. How can anyone not love this handsome face?"
Okay this clears all my doubts... Praising ourselves is in our genes.
"Aaron I really need to go, my husband now needs me by his side. So see ya."
Getting myself out of his hold as I was moving away from him I could see him stretching his hand and saying "Come back. Come back."
I giggled and went to where Rafael was standing holding a glass of wine in his hand talking to some people.
I looked at Rafael waiting for him to complete his talking but when he saw me, he excused himself from that group of people and came towards me.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
I shook my head "Nothing. It's just Aaron was talking some meaningless stuffs."

Taking a sip from his glass of wine he shrugged "I don't blame him, everyone in your family says meaningless stuffs."
I glared at him.
"You stay alone?" I asked. Since no one from his family was present in our wedding I had to ask that.
"No. I have a Dad who is very much mad at me with the decision of marrying someone just for the sake of a deal."
"He didn't come for the wedding for that reason?" I asked a bit surprised.
How can a father not come in his son's wedding?
Well not strange my brother too didn't come for my wedding.
"He is here. Though he is mad at me he can never miss such a day of my life. He was the one getting impatient to get me married."
Guess what? Everyone is not as unlucky as me.
"Really? Where's he? You didn't even introduce us."
He smiled then said "You can meet him when we go to my place. I don't want another melodramatic scene in here."
"You are so mean Rafael." I said hitting him on the arm.
He chuckled. We stood at our place silently for sometime when out of nowhere Rafael suddenly asked "You miss him, don't you?"
I knew he was talking about Simon. Since I met Rafael that was two days ago, I have noticed one thing that he always understands what's going on in my head, like he can read my mind. Though we met just once he still understands everything. I don't know how does he do that but I feel too much exposed when I am with him.
I nodded sadly "At least today he could've been here. It is the biggest day of my life. Sometimes it feels like I am the least important person in his life."
"He is watching you Hazel. His eyes are always on you. In fact those cameras you see, they were planted in here by Simon to see his only sister's wedding... live."
I gave Rafael a surprised look "No way."
He just passed me a smile.
I looked at the camera with a huge grin on my lips then waved my hand "Thank you so much Simon." I said looking at the camera.
At least he is watching me. It too means a lot to me.
Just then Rafael snapped his fingers in front of me making me look at him "You are very much welcome. The brilliant idea was mine."
I gave him a suspicious look then smiled and placed a kiss on his right cheek.
"Thanks to you too."
He shook his head.
While we were going to his penthouse I was continuously struggling with my dress. The dress is so heavy that it's getting almost impossible to handle. After I get home, I have to get rid of this mess first.
As we reached the penthouse the driver parked the car in the parking. I got out of the car not waiting for Rafael to open the door for me.
He just smiled looking at me struggling. We got into the elevator I tapped my feet impatiently waiting for it to stop.
"Who even told you to get yourself a dress you can't even handle?"
"I wanted my wedding to be just like my book... luxurious and gorgeous. This dress is gorgeous. And for your kind information I am not marrying everyday to get a simple wedding dress."
"You really live in a fantasy world."
"I do and I am so proud of it." I said grinning widely.
He sighed shaking his head "Complete bullshit."
As soon as the elevator stopped and I got out I wanted to admire the place but instead I walked as fast as I could to where Rafael told me his room is. On my way I also met a man, totally confused man who was about to ask me something but before he could say anything I said hurriedly "I am really sorry sir but I need to take this thing out of me then we shall have some chit chat."
Saying that I made my way to Rafael's room as fast as I could but damn you bloody dress.
Getting out of the dress when I went into his huge walk-in closet at one side I found his clothes arranged neatly and on the other side mine.
It brought a smile to my lips.
He is being super nice to me.
Finally I got into my PJs and a t-shirt. Throwing myself on the bed I took a deep breath with my eyes closed.
"Oh Sweet Jesus! I can finally breathe now."
Suddenly it struck me I sat straight on the bed "Shit! I need to talk to that Uncle! He was about to say something and I just ran away. That's so rude."
Getting up from the bed I ran downstairs to the living room both Rafael and the Uncle looked at me. Rafael was just enjoying my miserable situation I glared at him and bowed my head in front of the Uncle "I am really sorry sir for my rude behaviour I didn't mean to be rude to you."
He chuckled "You can stop with the sir thing now."
Raising my head I looked at him confused, he was really smiling "I would prefer my son's wife calling me Dad not sir."
My eyes widened I looked at Rafael and whispered from my place to him "Dad?"
He nodded smirking.
"Oh Sweet Jesus! He really didn't introduce us in the wedding or I would've never done that."
"It's okay dear I can understand. Rafael can be a jerk sometimes." Rafael just rolled his eyes to this. Dad continued "She's different from what I thought you would bring home. Such a sweetheart. Now you can go to your room and take some rest both of you must be tired."
I nodded.
"Night Dad." Rafael said.
"Night." And Dad left.
I turned to Rafael smirking flipping my hair, I gave him a sweet smile then cupped my face with my hands pouting "I am so awesome. See for me he is not mad at you anymore. I am so sweet."
He sighed "You are so full of yourself."
My brows furrowed "Can't you just accept that I helped you?"
"Goodnight Hazel. I am really tired." Saying that he made his way upstairs rolling my eyes I followed him from behind.
Jerk of a husband.

Needletongue, Carrotcake
The world isn't fair. If anything, the inherent injustice of the world is what separates it from the fiction we so adore. Luis Freighthold knew this all too well, and that was why it took a bit longer than it should have to realise when he suddenly had everything he could ever have wanted. Raised in a working-class single-father home, Luis had no other escape than fiction. Specifically, vampire stories of varying quality and genre. There was something appealing about the ability to fly, turn into shadows and become smoke. Danger. An unfamiliarity with the social world that rejected him so. Was it so wrong for him to hope for a different life? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, now he had it—a lust for blood and abilities beyond the understanding of civil man. Could you really say that he had anything left to complain about? A vampire story following an unconventional vampire boy forced to accept that maybe becoming a vampire doesn't magically solve all your problems. As a matter of fact, it might just make a whole bunch of them even worse. Regardless, Luis is prepared to try everything to live up to the vampire books he had previously gorged on. What did it matter that his vampire form had no teeth, replaced instead by a long, needle-tipped tongue? He was still a vampire, wasn't he?
