Tack-tack-

 Chrysta lightly knocked on the door to announce their arrival.

"Miss, I've brought the butler."

"Come in."

I called them in, but sent Chrysta out to speak alone with the butler Maverick.

"I would like to speak with you about few things. My father entrusts you with a lot of the financial aspects of the house hold, so I would like your advise."

I began to talk to the butler but the butler seemed conflicted.

"Miss, I cannot give you money. I've been instructed by young master that your allowance will be with held for two months, I'm very sorry."

He was a very good butler that had worked for the family since Alina's father was a young master. As he was finishing his statement, he looked as if he was preparing for something.

'I know what you're expecting, a tantrum, but I am not the real Alina.' I inwardly shook my head at how horrible the original Alina's temper was. 

"I do not wish to receive money, however I would like guidance since you have had many years worth of experience." I responded, trying to wash away his worries.

He seemed thoroughly surprised at my response, and couldn't help but let out a cough before responding.

"cough- ....I'm sorry for misunderstanding Miss' intentions. Why would you like my guidance regarding the finance of the duchy, Miss?" 

The butler quickly put on his poker face and quickly got to the point. 

"It is a matter I would like to discuss with my father at a later date after coming up with the plan, but you are a excellent butler and I would like advice on the matter before hand because I want to personally handle the matters."

I quickly answered Maverick, but I could not let him know the details for fear of him reporting to my father and messing up the plan. I had not yet interacted with the duke, and I didn't want to do things without a plan in mind.

I soon began asking about the basic cost of providing everything for a child, and the cost of maintaining the duchy. Maverick quickly and skillfully explained all the knowledge I asked of him.

"There are two other thing I must ask of you. As you know I am on probation, so I am restricted from leaving the duchy. So first, I need you to look into real estate that is in the city, it will have to be a quite big sized building. It will at least a two story building with as many rooms as possible. Lastly, I will need you to bring me a report of the allowance I have left over as well what I will be receiving after my probation is lifted. I would like to thank you for giving me your time, there is no rush to get these things for me but I would like to receive these things by the end of next week."

Once he left, I slumped in my seat. If any noble saw they would have a heart attack from how I was acting.

I couldn't care less.

Maverick quickly left at Alina's dismissal, and as he was walking to report Alina's behavior to the Grand Duke, Maverick quietly judged Alina's change in behavior.

'The miss seems to have changed....for the better it seems. What could've brought about this change.' Anyone knew that a simple probation wouldn't change a person this drastically. 

He was amazed with how different she was. Instead of her hot headed ignorance, she was calm, kind, and delicate. The polar opposite of her usual spoiled nature, rather she seemed humble. Her gentle smile mixed with her unparalleled beauty could make anyone stop in their tracks. Her usual aura was always arrogant and violent, combating her beautiful appearance. On the other hand, her current aura complimented her beauty.

Maverick soon stopped in front a large pair of doors and announced his presence.

"My Lord, I have a report to make about the young miss."

Maverick waited to enter until he heard the approval of the grand duke.

"Enter."

Maverik opened the doors and entered the dimly lit room. In the center was a large oak desk with a man with black hair and ruby eyes. He look like a middle aged version of the man punishing Alina the night before.

The man worked silently before leaning back into his chair and sweeping his hair back. He narrowed his piercing red eyes before acknowledging Mavericks presence.

"Speak, what did that child do this time" The grand duke ordered with a indifferent attitude.

Maverick soon started to explain her peculiar behavior and well as her changed personality.

The grand duke leaned forward to rest his face on his hand, before responding.

"Do as she wants, she said she will speak with me about it at a later date. As for her changing, we will know if she is really changing or not. Keep an eye on her, report anything strange."

"Yes, my Lord." 

Maverick quickly accepted his masters orders, and quickly left the office.
