Chapter 4

A young, beautiful girl wondered through the forest with a basket in her hands. Her clothes were covered with dirt and other debris. Leaves and sticks stuck to her cloak. She had been exploring the woods in hopes of finding herbs but was having no luck. The girl sighs, tucking a single strand of hair behind her ear. "I guess there's not many plants available during the winter, huh?" she mumbles, looking down at her relatively empty basket.

Snowflakes begin to fall from the sky and quickly cover the forest's floor. The sudden cold air causes a shiver to run through the girl's spine. She wore only a thin kimono and a cloak, not nearly enough to survive the winter's unforgiving weather. She would freeze to death if she did not find shelter soon.

The girl runs throughout the woods, gradually picking up her pace to add warmth to her body. Her eyes dart from place to place, desperate to find a cave or cavern to rest until the snow stops. She runs and runs but is only ever surrounded by an abyss of trees. It was too late to turn back to the village, she had ran too deep into the forest. There seemed to be no hope.

Until suddenly, an opening appears. The girl cautiously walks through it and is greeted by a large, empty canvas of snow. A lone tree stands tall and proud towards the middle of the white patch. It has a hole in its center that could act as a possible shelter. She sprints towards the tree, her hood slipping off her head. The idea of warmth gave her motivation to push through the heavy layers of snow suffocating her legs.

As she gets closer to the tree, the girl freezes. Her eyes widen and she lets out a horrified gasp. A man laid unconscious amongst the snow, practically buried. His body was covered with cuts and his blood stained the areas around him. The girl ran towards him and began digging him out of the snow. His breathing was faint and he shook violently from the cold.

Taking off her cloak, she wraps it around him. She rest his back onto her thighs and presses his head against her chest, forcefully pushing her spiritual energy into his body. Instantly, she coughs up blood. "So you're a demon.." she whispers to him, cupping his face in her delicate hands. For humans, demons were dangerous to heal. Humans who give their spirit energy to an injured demon, take the pain of the demon into their own bodies.

The girl felt as though she was on fire. Her chest began to ache, tears fell from her eyes and onto the demon. The pain was unbearable but she couldn't abandon someone who needed help, whether it be human or not. Closing her eyes, she presses the man back into her chest and forces even more of her energy into him.

As the man's breathing begins to even, his eyes shoot open. His movement causes the girl to release him from her chest. She peers down at him, with a meek smile on her face. "I'm so glad," she says, pushing a strand of the demon's white hair out of his eyes, "I didn't think I could save you with all the injuries you had."

The white haired demon blinks, extremely confused at the situation he was in. He was being held by a human woman who basically brought him back from the dead. She was crying and blood ran from her mouth. Why would a human woman save him? He was demon. Demons literally kill people!

The girl giggles at his reaction and carefully caresses his face, staring into his golden orbs. "I wish we could chat demon," she says, bringing him closer to her lips, "but you mustn't remember me."

She presses her smooth lips onto his chapped ones. The demon flinches and attempts to push off the girl but she doesn't budge. With her lips, she cast a spell on him and immediately he faints. The spell would conceal his memories of her and lead him into a deep slumber for a few days. Humans were forbidden to heal demons, so it was best if he didn't remember her.

The girl lets out a sigh of relief and removes the demon from her body. She gets up from her spot and drags him towards the hole in the tree. Planning to stay with him until the snow stopped and she had recovered from his injuries.

Her body screamed as she pulled his heavy figure into their new shelter, but she pushed and pushed until both of them lay snug in the tree's tiny hole.

Sesshomaru slowly opened his eyes and stretched his body. He had pretended to faint after the filthy woman had attempted to put a memory erasing spell on him. He smirked knowing well that a human's spell would never work on him, a powerful dog-demon lord.

He was inside a tree and it was snowing outside. Opposite to him sat the unconscious form of the woman who had saved him. She wore only a kimono and shook furiously, his blood covering her. He huffed, taking off his furry mokomoko and wrapping it around her shivering figure. She nestles into it, causing Sesshomaru's heart to beat incredibly fast. He wasn't sure why though. A spell? How many spells did the damn woman try to put on him?

Crossing his arms, Sesshomaru closes his eyes and attempts to clear his brain. He tries to think about his surroundings, the smells around him. He thinks of his battles and the numerous victories he's had. Anything to distract him from the strange emotions he was feeling.

However, he's unsuccessful and the memory of the disgusting kiss he had with the human jumps into his mind. Her sweet taste still lingered on his mouth and wouldn't leave, no matter how many times he rubbed his lips.

Rage began to grow in his system, his feelings of impurity and filth cause him to release a deep growl. There was no way he'd let a human kiss him and live. He hated humans and would kill them all. Eagerly, he pulls out his sword and raises his arm, ready to deliver a fatal blow.

But as his sword nears the woman's neck, Sesshomaru freezes. Continuous memories of her touch, her delicate hands, and her voice, rush into his mind. A slight blush appears on his face and he grits his teeth, sheathing his sword and touching his lips once more. His heart felt as though it would burst.

"What sort of spell did you place on me, you filthy woman?" He asks, grabbing her collar and glaring into her unconscious face.

The girl begins to stir and reaches for Sesshomaru, pulling him close to her as if he were a pillow. Her legs intertwine with his and her arms wrap his muscular chest. He freezes, absolutely paralyzed and helpless. His blush deepens and he desperately tries to pry himself from the woman's grasp but is very unsuccessful. "Let go, I will kill you."

"Ughhh..." the human says, causing Sesshomaru to "faint". He shuts his eyes and let his body go limp. The human lifts her head from his chest and blinks multiple times before screaming.

"AHHH!!! OH NO, OH NO!" she yells, pushing Sesshomaru's body to the side. She jumps to her feet and runs out of the tree, leaving Sesshomaru and her belongings behind. Her footsteps leave an imprint on the snow's layers.

Sesshomaru rises from the ground with a deep blush glued to his face. His heart was racing and he felt as though he was literally going to go insane. He reeked of the woman's foul stentch.

"Disgusting human, I will make you pay for what you've done to me," he says, clenching his heart as it continues to rapidly beat.
