《Arranged Love (Currently Being Edited)》Chapter 13 - The Next Day

The next morning Eva woke up with a horrible splitting headache. She groaned as she struggled to open her eyes, blinking against the bright sunlight streaming in through the window that she was trying to block with her hand. She looked around and it took her brain a second to remember that she was here in a hotel room and she looked over and saw Paulo still sound asleep, laying next to her in bed completely naked.

That's when the memories of the night before started flooding back in and she remembered their first time and how incredible it was. She pulled back the covers and slowly got up out of bed and that's when she realized how sore she was. Her insides and the spot between her legs were aching, making her walk kind of funny as she slowly made her way into the bathroom.

After she peed she noticed there was still blood when she wiped and she wondered how long that was going to last. As she stood at the sink brushing her teeth she remembered that she was moving to Spain today with Paulo and the sadness started to settle in when she thought about leaving Kristoff and Astrid behind. She couldn't imagine what life was going to be like without them.

All of a sudden she was hit with an overwhelming urge to throw up and she clasped her hands over her mouth and ran to the toilet, lifting the seat just in time. Her whole body heaved as she emptied the entire contents of her stomach into the water.

Just when she thought she was done another wave came on worse than the last and she wasn't even sure how her stomach could hold that much. It felt like she was dying a slow, horrible death and after thirty minutes of agony she vowed never to drink that much again in her entire life.

She could just hear Kristoff's voice right now. "Why did you drink so much?! Are you crazy?"

When the nausea finally went away she struggled to get up on her wobbly legs, brushed her teeth again with toothpaste and was horrified when she looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her hair was wild and sticking out in all directions.

She washed her face and brushed her hair and decided that she looked much better, before opening the door and going back out to the hotel room. Paulo was awake now, sitting up in bed shirtless, ordering room service on the hotel phone with his six pack and strong arm muscles on full display, his bottom half covered by the sheet.

He looked and sounded normal as he was placing his order, with no signs of a hangover at all, which she thought was totally unfair because he drank a lot more than she did. She walked over to her suitcase and bent over to grab one of her favorite dresses and everything she needed to get ready and when she turned around she noticed Paulo had been looking at her butt as she was bent over but he quickly looked away. When he finally looked back, her eyes met his and he looked away again and got up out of bed.

Seeing him completely naked in broad daylight while she was sober was like being struck by a lightning bolt. It stopped her heart and she stood there paralyzed, forgetting how to breath or talk for a minute. He didn't even notice the effect he had on her as he walked right past her into the bathroom and started up the shower. He got in as she stood at the vanity straightening her hair and applying some makeup. When she was done she felt and looked a hundred times better. There was a knock at the door and it was room service. She rolled the cart inside, handing the man a tip with a smile before closing the door behind her.

She opened the balcony doors and there was a nice table and chairs out there and a beautiful view of the city so she decided they would eat out there. After she had the table set up and poured herself and him a cup of steaming coffee, he walked out onto the balcony wrapped up in a white bathrobe with wet, tousled hair.

"How are you feeling?" he asked, sliding into the chair across from her.

"I've been throwing up all morning. What do you think?" she asked, with a laugh, lifting up her mug of steaming coffee and sipping on it.

"I heard you throwing up this morning so I got something to help you feel better."

"You did?" she asked, surprised.

"Well I didn't personally go get it. I had my head of security get it for me."

He walked back into the hotel room and came back a few seconds later with a plastic bag, getting out a can of Sprite, a packet of Tylenol and some crackers and brought them over to her.

Awwww. He actually did something sweet. That was really thoughtful and made her heart warm a little bit.

"Thank you. I really appreciate it," she said, flipping open the Sprite and taking a sip to wash down the Tylenol and then taking a bite of the cracker.

"Well we have a busy day and we don't really have time for hangovers," he said dismissively as he took a seat.

They sat there eating in awkward silence, neither of them mentioning the elephant in the room, the fact that they slept together last night.

"So what's the plan for today?" she asked him.

"We're going back to the castle to say goodbye to your family and then we're riding with my parents to the airport where they'll be flying home to Spain and we'll be flying out for our honeymoon."

"We're going on a honeymoon? I thought we were going straight back to Spain," she said, raising her eyebrows.

"My parents insisted. They booked us a house on a private island in the Seychelles for a week. We'll have the entire island all to ourselves so we won't have to worry about paparazzi or people bothering us."

"Oh," she said surprised. "That sounds nice. I haven't been to the Seychelles but my brother has and he said it's one of his favorite places he's ever been. I've always wanted to go there but hadn't gotten around to it."

"Well, I guess this is your chance," he said as he looked down and took another bite of food.

The thought of being on a private island alone with him for a week made her feel excited and kind of nervous. He took the last bite of his food and then got up and walked towards his suitcase, taking what he needed to get ready into the bathroom.

Before he shut the door she said, "Thank you for the crackers and soda. I'm starting to feel better already."

"Sure. Don't mention it," he said as he shut the door behind him.

After what happened between them last night it was weird how distant he seemed this morning. If she didn't remember it vividly and still feel sore from it, she would almost think it had been a dream and didn't really happen from the way he was acting.

While she was waiting for him she sat on the bed and turned on the TV to a local news station.

"Princess Eva looked absolutely stunning in her gown as you can see here," the beautiful brunette news reporter wearing a black pantsuit said. "These two are just too adorable together! We asked you to share your thoughts of the wedding with us on Twitter and many of you commented that you thought it was the most beautiful royal wedding in history. We're also seeing lots of comments about how beautiful their children are going to be. When do you all think we can expect an heir to the throne? Let us know what you think on Twitter. My bet is 9 months!"

Eva rolled her eyes and grabbed the remote and changed the station to another news Channel that was also talking about the royal wedding and she watched it for a while. This one took it even farther and had a Photoshop expert come on and show blended pictures of Paulo and Eva's faces to predict what their children were going to look like.

"Their children are going to be gorgeous!" the expert announced and the other newscasters agreed. "How many do you think they'll have? I'm rooting for 6!"

"Six!" Eva shouted out loud in disbelief. "Is this woman crazy?"

Eva groaned loudly and laid back onto the bed, covering her face with a pillow and closing her eyes. All of this pressure to have a baby was too much for her.

Paulo came out of the bathroom and said, "What's wrong? I heard you yelling."

Eva's muffled voice from under the pillow said, "I just want to crawl under a rock and hide from the world."

He laughed and said, "Don't we all? What are you watching here?"

She sat up and took the pillow off of her face and saw Paulo standing there facing the TV wearing only a towel wrapped low around his waist, brushing his teeth. The muscles of his toned back and broad shoulders looked so good that she laid back again and covered her face back up with a pillow. Seeing his body right now brought back memories of last night and she wasn't sure what she felt about it. It had been the most amazing experience of her life but he didn't seem to be very affected by it.

As she laid there with the pillow over her face she heard him go in the bathroom to rinse and spit out the toothpaste and then he came back in and grabbed the remote off the nightstand and rewound the show back to the beginning of the segment and listened to the whole thing. Then he shut it off and tossed the remote on the bed next to her.

"I don't see what the big deal is. They were just talking about how beautiful our children are going to be."

She threw the pillow off of her face and propped herself up on her elbows, looking at him.

"It is a big deal. I feel so much pressure Paulo. Every channel is talking about us. They're taking bets on when we're going to have a baby and how many babies we'll have and how beautiful they'll be."

Paulo laughed. "What? Would you rather them say our kids are going to be ugly?"

"No but it's as if we're two prize horses being bred instead of human beings. It puts so much pressure on me to produce a baby. What if I can't? What if I'm infertile for some reason? It's like my whole worth is wrapped up in being a baby maker!"
