"Lily as in my best friend Lily?" I asked in disbelief.

My parents both meekly nodded their heads.

Xavier let out an amused laugh "Wait this is fucking hilarious. Wow from the people I have met so far here and learned this, Dark Moon is kind of a fucked up pack."

I pointedly looked at him and he said putting his hands up "What. Tell me I am wrong."

Even in this fucked up situation Xavier let out a joke to lighten up the mood. Between him and Aiden, I could always count on them to be my hidden saviors. They both show to the world their happy and playful sides but when you mess with the people they care about they like me will raise hell for the people we care about. The three of us have bonded in our mournful pasts, like me, Xavier lost his mate in a rogue attack a few years before I had arrived. With the losses of our mates and Aiden's parents, we used our losses to better the pack. After all, our pack didn't become one of the best warrior packs for no reason.

Breaking out of my thoughts I gave him a smirk and said to him "Nah you're right."

Going back to my parents I asked "How the hell did she become Luna after I left."

My dad started to explain "The entire pack after you left felt the bond break so the next day a meeting was held. Your mom and I couldn't really concentrate since we were so distraught at the time of why you left. On the day of the meeting, Alpha Axel revealed the reason for your departure with no shame. God Ana, the times I wanted to snap that boy's neck for what he did to you. Anyway, a few weeks after that meeting we were called for another one. This time we all learned that the new alpha had chosen a mate. The day of the meeting they hadn't revealed the identity of Axel's mysterious mate yet but the day she became Luna the pack was surprised knowing the connection between you and Lily. The same day I had lost control of my wolf since he was restless that his pup was missing and the bastard that hurt her heart was getting a happily ever after."

Mom continued "Your father was in the underground dungeons for a week with the cause of attacking an alpha. We never really spoke to Lily or the rest of your friends due to their betrayal towards you."

"Wait Grey, Reed, and Ruby were all ok with this?" I asked.

Mom nodded and said, "All of them were completely on board with Lily and Axel's mating."

Once my parents finished my anger started to skyrocket. Lily and I had been friends for a very long time before I had left, so why had she betrayed me? Was it for power, money, or status? My mind couldn't comprehend my best friend that I had shared my longing for a mate had betrayed me. We had always talked about saving ourselves for our mates and giving them our all. So why had Lily not waited for our mates as we had planned? Was she always so power-hungry and I was just blinded by my love for her as a friend? And how had she gotten the rest of my old friends on board with this betrayal? All I know is that in my time in Dark Moon I was going to get the answers I needed.

Xavier brought me out of my thoughts and asked "Alright."

I gave him a nod and just said to him, "Just sick of people betraying me."

"You don't need them, Ana, you have you me, your parents, Aiden, and the rest of Midnight," Xavier said.

I looked at him and gave him a sharp nod remembering why I was here. To save this pack and show Axel the new me. It didn't matter if I had to add my old friends to the list of people to prove my worth to. Either way, I was showing Dark Moon the new and improved Analise Kade.

After walking my parents back to their house, Xavier and I spent the entire evening binge-watching movies and planning out training for tomorrow. It was finally time for us and I rejoined the pack at dinner since both Xavier and I had not eaten at lunch. We were both starving and just living off the snacks in our bags that we had packed. Before leaving with my parents during lunch not many people had shown up yet. Once we go in for dinner we would be seeing Axel and Lily together. Although before I got here I thought that the idea of Axel and someone else would be painful really wasn't. I was only angry that he got a happy life for what he did to me and that he had gotten my best friend to betray me.

The rest of the Midnight pack and I walked once again towards the dining hall for dinner. Once we reached the hall we immediately went to the buffet for food. I piled up food onto my plate and made my way to a table with my pack.

"Ok guys the training meeting is right after dinner today and we will be going over the logistics of what is going to be happening for the next two weeks," I said to the warriors and Xavier.

They all nodded to me and then we all started to dig into our food. As we were eating I started to smell vanilla and sandalwood indicating that Axel was close. I looked up to see Axel at the door with a blonde hanging off his arm. I realized that the blonde was Lily and that she had dyed her natural auburn hair. I started to trail my eyes down her to see that she was wearing a short skirt with the tiniest top along with the biggest high heels I had ever seen. When I brought my eyes to her I looked at her staring back at me, and if looks could kill I would be six-feet underground. All I could wonder is what the hell happened to my friend and why is she hating on me? Last I knew before I left we had been on good terms and were excited to find our mates. When I broke out of my thoughts I realized that both Axel and Lily were making their way to us.

"Well well look who is back, the weak reject mate," Lilly remarked.

I looked at her with a blank expression and then turned to Axel that looked mad at how close Xavier was sitting next to me.

I turned back to Lily and smirked "Well look who it is, the power-hungry slut that couldn't wait for her own mate."

She looked at me in anger and said "Doesn't matter, I took yours."

"Keep him. I don't need a weak alpha as my mate who seeks help from his ex-mate to take care of his rogue problem" I said to her, feeling her and Axel's anger.

"Oh and also," I stood up from my seat confronting her "Call me weak again and maybe I will show you what I picked up as a warrior beta these past two years."

Looking around, almost everyone from the pack had stopped talking to listen so I directed them "After dinner, all warriors and high ranking wolves report to the training ground for further instructions. Midnight will be going over the plans for the next two weeks to help you prepare for rogue attacks."

Without bothering to look at my ex-mate and friend I took the rest of my food to my room. Before walking away I looked at Xavier asking me with his eyes if he needed to come with me. I gave him a shake no and walked away. Eating in silence in my room and an hour later it was time to go to the training ground. I met up with my pack at the training grounds.

Walking out to the front of the crowd with my pack behind me I shouted out "Ok listen up, the next two weeks will be very gruesome. Every day from now on you all will be reporting here by five to follow our training lessons. The warriors behind me and I will be leading all of these lessons. Along with training, I will be meeting with the alpha, beta, gamma, and head warrior to make plans to decrease the rogue attacks happening to your pack. Any questions?"

Allowing a beat of silence before continuing "Ok guys, welcome to the next two weeks of hell. Dismissed."
