The Prince did not allow me back to my room. He gave orders to have the old living quarters destroyed and moved my belongings to the large spacious room with the beautiful wooden ceiling. It wasn't much later that I realized the Prince had moved me to his private living quarter.

My life in the Prince's estate changed after day.

When the Prince learned that I love to read, he had bookshelves built within the room and a chaise made beside the window. The Prince had told me I could spend as much time as I want in the room reading. So I did. On the chase by the window, I spent most days reading to my heart content.

Some days, the Prince would come back early to have meals with me. Some days when he couldn't, he would send servants with more books or sweets for me to enjoy. No matter what, the Prince would be back to hold me while I sleep each night.

The Prince had said my body belong to me. Now I wondered if it truly was mine. I had been saved by him, and yet, I haven't given him anything in return. What do I have to offer him? The unsettle question begin to occupy my thoughts – even more during the nights when he held within his arms. When I finally find the courage to kiss the Prince, he pulled away and told me to sleep. Afterward, he would leave the bed for a long period of time and returned with a faint scent perfume.

It made sense. I was not beautiful like his concubines.
