Ashton insisted on driving me to Creamy Dreams even though I had my own car. I rolled my eyes as I got into his car.

"I really could have driven myself," I pouted.

"I've seen you drive, Elizabeth. You wouldn't get there until tomorrow."

"Hey, I don't drive that slow." I protested.

Ashton slowed the speed of his car and everyone behind us started honking. "That sound familiar?" he smirked.

I hit him with my bag. Okay, so the cars behind me honked a lot. They were probably going too fast anyways. I needed to be the responsible driver for their sakes.

"Plus, if you drove yourself I wouldn't get any time alone with you." He frowned. "Group dates are still a thing?"

"Mel always wanted us to go on a triple date together since she met Trey. It would be a quadruple date, but Kevin insists on staying single," I chuckled. "You should help him solve his Nicole problem."

"I'll let her torment him a little longer," he grinned. "After all, he did go on a date with you. To my own party. I still can't believe it."

"It was a friendly date," I groaned. "How many times do I have to tell you that?"

"Until you go to a party with me," he decided.

"When's the next one? It's been almost three months since you had a party. Aren't you having withdrawal symptoms yet?"

He smiled. "I'll throw one soon... maybe next week. But you make me feel a lot better than any party could," he commented, glancing over at me.

I smiled back at him. "You're almost as good as books."

He scoffed and tousled my hair.

"This is the place?" He frowned as the colorful dessert parlor came into view.

"Yeah!" I nodded excitedly. "Let's go."

----------------------------------------------------------

"It smells like a sweet factory in here," he said, crinkling his nose.

"That's what makes it so cool," I grinned.

Callie and Daniel waved at us. Melissa and Trey were laughing about something together. They smiled and greeted us as we came closer.

"Finally." Melissa beamed. "It took us a few years, but we made it."

Callie and I grinned. Daniel, who was sitting beside her, gazed at her in adoration. This was where they had met so it held even more meaning to them being here tonight.

Daniel inhaled deeply. "This place hasn't changed at all."

"That's the beauty of it," Callie sighed happily.

Ashton skimmed through the menu with skepticism. "These are all sweets?"

"Yep," I said, popping the p. "Look! They have some new gummy bear flavors!"

I looked up to see Trey biting back a laugh.

"Okay, I admit it," I groaned. "I love them."

"What do you love?" Ashton asked as his eyes scanned the menu. Of course he heard that part.

"Gummy bears."

"More than me?"

"Is that even a question?" I teased. "You can't compare."

I went back to the menu but I could feel Ashton's hot glare on me.

"What?"

"Sweets can't give you sweaters," he pointed out. "Or necklaces."

"Speaking of sweaters, I'm coming back for mine tomorrow."

He smirked. "Take it if you can."

I narrowed my eyes at him. What was he planning?

We ordered our food and I bit into the chocolate filled gummy bears. The icing filled ones were nice too. I let out a sound of satisfaction and Ashton glared at the bears.

"You've had enough," he said, swiping the last packet of gummies from the table as I reached for it.

I pouted. "Give that back."

"Or else what?"

"I'll... I'll take two of your sweaters."

"Be my guest," he said, then leaned down to whisper in my ear. "If you're going to moan like that, then I'll be the one to do it."

My face was burning as I gulped down my milkshake in an attempt to cool off. How could he say something like that so casually? He grinned as I blended in with my red velvet cake.

"Babe, can you come with me for a bit?" Trey asked Melissa.

She looked confused at his sudden request, but excused herself to go with him.

Ashton pulled my precious packet of gummies and popped one into his mouth. He frowned. "Is this ice cream inside?"

"Yes," I grumbled. "If you don't like it then give it back."

"I don't like it, but I won't give it back," he stated matter of factly.

"You're just gonna take it like a bully?" I asked, trying to guilt trip him.

"I'm taking it as your soulmate."

"I promise I like you almost as much as them," I laughed.

"That's not good enough." He shook his head.

I gave him a quick peck on the lips to appease him.

"You can have one," he conceded, shaking the bag to find one that looked the least appetizing.

Ashton getting jealous of gummy bears was one of the cutest things ever.

"This one," he said, holding up a transparent one with green filling.

I went to take it from him, but he placed it between his lips instead. He arched his eyebrows. I knotted my arms around his neck in a hug and leaned up to kiss him, but instead of taking the gunmy, I pushed it into his mouth. He wrinkled his forehead as he chewed it. Guess he hated that one too.

"You're more of a savory person aren't you?" I laughed.

"Yeah. Brooke and Cav prefer sweets, like our mom," he told me. "The only sweet I like is you."

"I'm sweet?" I asked, fluttering my lashes.

Ashton laughed. "Yes, in every way possible. You smell sweet and you taste sweet too."

"I smell and taste sweet?" I frowned.

He nodded. "Your scent is kind of like cotton candy, but a better version of it. I can't really explain it, but I can't get enough of it."

"You're weird."

"Blame it on the Origen senses," he chuckled as Melissa and Trey came in and sat down.

Melissa was smiling widely and Trey looked relieved. He'd seemed kind of anxious all night, but now he was grinning.

"Guys," she smiled, "Trey is coming with me to my university. We're going there together."

Callie and I looked at Trey in surprise as twin Cheshire cat grins spread across our faces.

"That's amazing!" I shouted.

"So cute!" Callie gushed.

"I didn't even knew he applied," Melissa said, faux glaring at Trey with a smile.

"I applied late so I didn't think I was going to get in. I wanted to be with Em before enlisting and I also wanted to get my degree first. It works out perfectly."

His nickname for her was the first letter of her name, M.

"I'm so happy," she said, throwing her arms around his neck.

"Aww!" I gushed with Callie.

Daniel and Ashton congratulated them on their acceptances.

"At least you won't be lonely there," Callie said, wiping a tear from her eye. "I feel better knowing Trey's gonna be with you."

"Yeah, me too," she said, smiling lovingly at him. "I can't wait."

Callie smiled at Daniel with a blush, as their fingers brushed together. I smiled and looked up at Ashton, who draped his arm around my shoulder.

This triple date wasn't a bad idea. It was actually nice to see my friends happy after all these years. Melissa had Trey and Callie had reunited with Daniel. Ashton and I ended up being a couple as crazy as it still sounded to me. I had to really look at him beside me sometimes to remind myself that it was real.

This would be one of the last times we would get to be here together. Callie would begin work on her movie in a few months and Melissa and Trey would be gone. I pulled out my phone and snapped some pictures of my friends to keep the memories.

"Say gummies!" I laughed, holding my phone out so that everyone could fit in the frame.

They all laughed and posed. "Gummies!"
