《The Prince's Soulmate | ✔》Chapter 11

The next day, I woke up not to the sound of birds chirping outside or to the smell of pancakes and freshly squeezed orange juice.
No.
It was from Callie, hitting me with a feather down pillow and laughing her head off.
"Cals!" I laughed, trying to evade the feathery attack. "Is this how you wake someone up?"
She got off me, snickering and then took one look at my face and started rolling with laughter. Oh no. What did she do?
I eyed her suspiciously as I went to look in the mirror. My hair was a nest of quill and feathers, as I'd expected, and apart from looking like a duck, there was a moustache doodled above my top lip.
I stared at her through the glass and her body quaked as she tried to hold back her laughter. She raised an eyebrow in amusement.
"Oh, it's on!"
I grabbed the black sharpie from off the nightstand and chased her around the room as she shrieked with laughter.
After I'd gotten her in a corner, she surrendered and I sauntered victoriously into the bathroom.
After taking a bath, I got dressed. Callie lived in a mansion, so she just used one of the many other bathrooms in her house.
"Notice anything different?" she asked, twirling around and bringing her hand up to her collar.
A sparkling layered necklace caught my eye. It was in the shape of a small butterfly. It was the first time I'd seen it and it was beautiful.
"I think it might be your hair, but let's go with that necklace."
She beamed at me, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It is the necklace. Dem gave it to me last night."
"I love it! That was sweet of him."

She nodded dreamily. "I told him that butterflies are my spirit animals and he surprised me with it. I hope he asks me out soon. Then everything will be perfect."
I thought back to how Demetri had shown up so suddenly last night. He was acting a bit weird, asking about me and Ashton.
I didn't think he'd even seen me with Ashton. But I shook it off. He might have just been curious.
Well, whatever he thought, there was nothing going on between Ashton and me and that would never change.
We were meeting up with Melissa at our favorite spot to plan the pool party. We'd already decided to have it at Callie's house, since there was a lot of space and she had an Olympic sized pool.
We got into her car and drove off. She was still in pretty high spirits from her gift and glanced at it in the mirror every minute, which I teased her about.
I was glad that she was happy. I wanted her to be happy. And since my little slip up when I'd mentioned Daniel, I was worried that maybe she wasn't ready to open her heart again yet.
But Demetri swooped in and saved the day and Callie was head over heels for him.
While the city blurred by, I checked my messages. There was one from Kevin, which made me really happy.
We'd at least said something to each other last night, albeit over text, but it was progress. I didn't want to be mad at him anymore.
I smiled and responded to his message. Immediately, my phone chimed again.
We're talking again. Great! Does this mean I'm forgiven?
I giggled as he sent a gif of him doing a victory dance.
Kinda, I texted back
Why not fully?
You still didn't explain why u acted like u did
...
?
I can't explain it all right now... Sorry
I sighed. Maybe he'd talk about it when he was ready to. I didn't want us to drag this out any longer.
Noah was back and me and the girls were planning a party. The only thing I needed now was Kevin. Without him, things just felt incomplete.
It's fine, Kev
So we're cool?
Yeah
I looked up as Callie parked the car, just realizing that we'd arrived at Creamy Dreams. Awesome! Now it was pool party planning time!
