"Excellent, so I will leave you guys to it." She stormed out.

"I will go and look." Ryan said, running after her.

"Good that she went away."

"Kate." I called, requesting her to be a bit considerate.

………………..

"Stupid people. Waste of time. That's all it is." I spoke and agreed to myself as well because clearly others were busy agreeing to that bitchy witch.

"Brae!" Ignoring Ryan's voice, I kept walking.

"Brae , wait. Will you?" I clicked my tongue in annoyance.

"What Ryan ? What?" I was irritated by everyone, especially him for bringing those two along.

"We came together and we will go that way only. Come inside." I sarcastically nodded my head.

"For what? To listen to her stupid tantrums, how she is tired by just eating and sitting in the car? Or should I smile at Evan praising her "excellent" choices? " I widened my eyes trying to show him the gravity of the problem.

"Brae-"

"It's all because of you." I pointed my finger towards him.

"What did I do?" He acted surprised and I wanted nothing more than to bang his head against the nearest wall.

"I should have never asked you to come with me. Who told you to pull them along? I could have done a better job if I was alone." I took a deep breath but still I wasn't calm.

"All she does is make the stupidest of choices and Evan? Let's not even talk about him. He is agreeing to everything she says like a blind puppy. " My breathing was hard because of my rant.

"Breathe Ms. Taylor." My eyes snapped towards Evan. I failed to notice him standing behind Ryan with an amused expression.

"I will leave." Ryan left with a grin on his face. I wanted to kill him for leaving me here with him.

"So you think I am behaving like a blind puppy?" Now what would I say? What would I say? 'Damn right ! I said that.' or 'No I didn't, you're dreaming.'?

"Uhm actually I was just-" He cut me off.

"I heard you Ms. Taylor." His hands were thrusted in his pocket.

"Then why ask?" I mumbled to myself praying that he didn't listen but apparently he did.

"You got a smart mouth, Ms. Taylor." He fakely appreciated me.

"And a smart choice too. Instead of agreeing to whatever she says you could have decided what was actually better. " I huffed. I didn't know if it was my ego speaking or my jealousy. When he was silent for a long time, I looked up at his face to see him staring intently at me.

He took a daring step towards me and tucked a few loose strands of hair behind my ears. My anger and frustration melted, just like that and I was lost in his eyes, his steel grey eyes.

"Are you jealous, Brae?" I didn't even realise when I unconsciously nodded to him. When his lips curved up into a smirk, I snapped out of my trance.

"Get away. What are these tricks Evan?" I asked, folding my arms across my chest. He was seducing me into confessing everything to him but I won't. I can't.

"Can I know why you are jealous?" He asked, looking smug.

"No. You can't. Because I am not jealous of Kate or in fact anyone." I threw my hands up in the air. How mature of me!

"But you just admitted." He grinned. I was almost melting at his beautiful grin, almost.

"I didn't." I straight out denied.

"You did, Brae." He too folded his arms against his chest causing his muscles to bulge out and again I had to try hard to keep myself composed. A single guy with so many distracting features. Ugh!

"uh huh."

"Huh huh"

"No."

"Yes."

"Okay, I just did it - I wasn't thinking." I made up. This was the thing I was doing the most these days. Cooking up lies.

"Lies, lies! How many more lies Brae?" I wanted to curse him for knowing me this well.

"What is it Evan ? What are you trying to do? I am clearly saying it. I am not jealous." I was exasperated.

"Whatever lets you sleep at night." I rolled my eyes at him and his stupid smirk but before I could leave the place, he held me back my arms.

"You're coming with us." I furrowed my eyebrows at him.

"No. I-"

"I said it . So you're coming." He said with a finality in his tone.

"What's with these commands?" Well he didn't bother replying and dragged me inside. Bossy bastard!

……………

"Did you see her?" I asked Ryan , my eyes searching for Brae.

"Nope. She hasn't come yet."

"I wonder why." I murmured under my breath.

"Impatient are we?" He teasingly smiled before snickering when I saw an irritated Kat approaching us.

"Evan, did you notice the decorations are different from what we chose? We had asked for the purple and pink theme while they are having this stupid peach and whatever colours." Kate huffed while Ryan pressed his lips together to stop a smile.

"What's done is done. Let it be." I smiled at her.

"But they were supposed to follow our instructions Evan. We should talk to the management." She was about to walk away to complain.

"Kate, Kate." I held her back by her arm.

"They asked me before doing it." She furrowed her brows, asking to explain further.

"Uhm actually they called me telling me that they weren't having all the supplies for that theme and insisted on having this one. So I agreed." I myself wasn't convinced by my story. Ryan coughed to cover his laughter.

"Okay then." She looked convinced with my poor excuse of a lie.

"I'll come." She excused herself to receive a call. I looked at Ryan who was smiling at me teasingly.

"Don't. Don't start." He raised his hands up in mock surrender. My eyes roamed everywhere before they landed on Brae who was just entering the hall.

I stopped dead in my movements, taking in her appearance. She looked beautiful in a thigh slit shimmery copper bodycon dress, her brown waves let loose. With minimal jewelry and makeup , she managed to look absolutely gorgeous.

"Close your mouth, brother." I tore my gaze away from her and glared at Ryan causing him to chuckle. It was time for my speech. After that the promotions were awarded to the employees. Finally after all these were done, I walked back to Ryan and Brae standing together.

"Where is Kate?" I asked .

"She had to go back for some urgent work." Ryan answered while Brae looked away disinterested.

"Brae." I acknowledged realising she wouldn't.

"Hi." A meek greeting escaped her mouth. She was trying hard not to make eye contact.

"I will go and say hi to them." Saying this , Ryan hurried away leaving us alone. My gaze was intently fixed on her which seemingly made her nervous as she kept shifting her weight from one feet to another.

"You look beautiful." She shyly turned her eyes up and met them with mine.

"Thank you. You look good as well." She complimented back.

"I know." My cocky answer led her to roll her eyes at me.

"So how come the decorations are what you and your beloved Kate chose?" She asked, looking all round the hall.

"You look good when you're jealous." Her head snapped back towards me, a slight pink tinge on her cheeks.

"Thank you but you're mistaken. I am not jealous." I smirked at her strong defense.

"Huh huh?" I raised my brow.

"Huh huh." She challengingly looked back. I took one step closer to her.

"It seems to me otherwise." I moved closer, invading her space.

"I can't help that." She bit her lips out of nervousness.

"Brae-"

"Mr. Lewis." I inwardly cursed that idiot who interrupted us.
