Adrien returned to the mansion with a determined look and he noticed his guards avoided looking at him which was unusual but he ignored it.

He went inside the mansion and refrained himself from screaming 'Honey I am home!' .

One, he knew Emerson would be at college and two he didn't want his maids and servants to think he is gone mad.

He texted on his phone to Emerson that he is back and scrolled mindlessly.

He entered his room without taking his eyes of phone and suddenly got the feeling he was used to before Emerson.

The way he felt when he used to step in his room in his batchelor life , at that time, it wasn't something but now he felt eery of it making him stop in his tracks.

Not a single book was on the study table or extra pillows on French window. He scanned the room to see only Emerson's thing were not in the place.

He visibly gulped and entered the closet, her clothes and the two unopened boxes which rested on her side of closet were gone.

Dread filled him but he tried to calm himself.

She probably likes her personal space and shifted to another room Adrien no need to panic.

But why will she shift now when she didn't shift when they were complete strangers?

He tried to calm himself.

He called his butler and asked him about Emerson.

"Where is Mrs Stone? " He asked in tone void of emotions.

"Your mom? " The butler asked confused.

It was first time Adrien addressing her like this. So the butler's confusion wasn't a surprise.

"My wife." He asked in an eerily calm tone.

The butler tried to avoid eye contact.

"I don't know." He replied nervously.

"What do you mean by that? " He asked.

"We usually don't know where is she, bu-but... " He stammered hesitating.

"Answer me dammit! " Adrien yelled.

"On Sunday she moved her things with the help of a moving company." He answered in a rush.

"What the hell do you mean by moving company! Fuck! " He cursed loudly making the mansion shake.

He tried calling her but her phone was off.

He took deep breaths and called Mr. Leone.

As soon as Jonah picked up Adrien spoke.

"Mr Leone, I don't have time to exchange pleasantries. So tell me is Emerson there? " He asked in a stoic tone.

"Why would she be here? " He asked confused.

"Nothing, she was telling me about visiting you soon, that's why." Adrien told in a neutral tone.

Jonah sensing trouble in paradise started to act like the snake he is.

"Oh god son, she lied to you, didn't she. I knew she would cheat, that's why we were warning your grandpa to choose Stephanie as your wi-" He was cit off in the middle.

"It's none of your business Mr Leone, so goodbye" He answered coldly and hanged up.

He called Henry,

"Is Emerson with you, old man? " He asked in a hopeful voice.

"Why would she? " Henry asked continuing,

"And hello to you to, I am fine thanks for asking. By the way I am in Mexico from past 3 days."

"Please old man, send me Rose's adress or number." He asked desperately.

"Ok calm down." Henry replied and hanged up.

Second later her adress and number popped on his screen.

He was about to run out of the mansion when his butler called him.

"What? " He asked irritated.

"She was here this morning but her things were moved on sunday." He rushed out and ran away from Adrien.

He took deep breaths.

She was here Adrien, calm down, she is safe and won't leave you.

He took keys from his driver and called Rose connecting it to Bluetooth.

He was speeding beyond limit.

"I swear if you are calling to tell me about my non existent dog I'll bury you alive." Rose yelled making Adrien wince.

"Ma'am, it's me Adrien, Emerson's husband." He said in shaky voice.

"Oh. Calm your tits she is safe, and if you are driving don't be reckless." She said and hanged up.

Adrien sighed in relief and slowed down to limit.

He reached the given adress and saw the door was already open.

He was about to knock on it when he heard Rose's voice.

"Don't bother, take off your shoes and put them on the rack."

He obeyed and went inside.

He noticed the house was too much cozy and gave homey vibes.

Pics of Rose, Emerson and an unknown man, probably Rose's husband were lined on the walls with many different types of home decors.

"Hello ma'am" He said nervously when he reached the living room where Rose's was sitting on the couch.

"Sit, be comfortable. I won't bite." Rose gestured to the love seat.

He took off his suit jacket and loosened his tie making Rose whistle.

"Damn, you really got a nice body." She said making Adrien choke on his spit.

"Thank you? " He more likely asked, visibly uncomfortable.

Rose chuckled and made a glass of whiskey for him.

"Don't worry, it's a truth you know and I love my deceased husband more than anything." She handed him the glass to which Adrien was surprised seeing she was making him drink whiskey in noon.

"You will need it." She said.

Adrien's nerves which were calmed a little spiked again and Emerson not emerging from any of the door didn't help it.

"Can I know where is she? " He asked trying his best to sound polite and not desperate.

"Ran away with her boyfriend." Rose said with a straight face and Adrien nearly had a heart attack.

His face lost its color.

"You are lying, right? " He asked , gulping his whiskey.

"Didn't you tell her the marriage was nothing, so why are you acting like love of your life cheated on you?" Rose asked with a raised eyebrow.

Adrien tried to calm himself.

He was really going to try the marriage and even he didn't love Emerson, didn't mean it hurt.

He knew Rose was correct, but now that he was a little attracted towards her and Rose's appearance when last time she disappeared was terrifying. Then other factor like his grandpa and company were also in his mind.

"Hurts, doesn't it? " She asked again.

"Why?" He asked in a whisper.

She filled his glass and spoke,

"She wasn't in a relationship and also didn't run away with any boy , so be happy." She said and Adrien heaved a sigh, gulping his drink.

"She needs space Adrien. " Rose replied calmly.

Adrien's face showed confusion.

"You know she saw you and Stephanie in the party." Rose spoke calmly making color drain from his face.

"I swear I didn't kiss her, she was trying to seduce me but I know better, I swear on my company. She forcefully kissed me and I pushed her, but she said Emerson won't believe me over her sister. I was trying to be civil with the Leones just to not make Emerson upset by behaving rudely with her family. At the end, it still made her upset." He rushed out and gulped his remaining drink, closing his eyes and pinching bridge of his nose.

Rose's lips formed an 'o' shape.

"She saw the whole thing Adrien, she knows you didn't do anything wrong." Rose said making Adrien more confused.

"What? " He asked in disbelief.

"Even if you are trying to give a chance to this marriage Adrien, and your lesbian sister tries to hit on your wife, kiss her forcefully, how will you feel? " She asked.

Adrien gulped another glass.

"To rip off my non existent sister's hair." He said bitterly.

"It's your thinking Adrien, Emerson felt betrayed. Her own sister is trying to seduce her husband, even if you two don't love each other." Rose said softly.

Adrien nodded, Emerson didn't seem like violent type.

"But what's my fault then, I was trying, really, why did she leave our house?" He asked in a defeated voice.

"It's just a house Adrien, you know nothing about her." Rose said dryly.

"Can I know where she is? Please? " He seemed desperate.

Rose sighed.

"London, Oxford University. For 6 months" She replied.

"What?" He almost shouted.

"Keep your voice down!" She said in a stern tone.

"Sorry" He said meekly. "But I want to fix this? She must be alone there." He said.

She has always been alone, my poor baby.

Rose thought sadly.

"I have her dorm adress, don't go just now. Give her a few days to settle. Her birthday is in 3 weeks, 13 November. Do something on it, till that keep low. " She said sternly and gave him adress on a note.

Adrien nodded smiling sadly.

"Thanks ma'am, really. I should go now." He said.

"You are an idiot aren't you! Don't you want to meet her in 3 weeks, on her birthday? " She asked annoyed.

Adrien was confused.

"Huh? "

"Dumbass, you drank a whole bottle without noticing. Call your driver." She explained like he is the dumbest person in the world.

"Oh thanks." He said and left her house.
