As Winter was back at the compound, she immediately knew she needed to talk to someone. She started walking through the fields until she stood in front of Thomas cottage. He was sitting on the bench in front of his house.

"Winter." He greeted her.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

She took a seat as he sniffed her.

"Royalty." He whispered.

"He was here? That was quick. How did Arsen react?" Thomas asked.

"Arsen doesn't know." Winter softly said.

"I see" Thomas reacted.

"He wants to talk to me alone tomorrow night. Someone at the meeting sold me out. He knows how strong I am." She sighed.

"He wants to mate you." Thomas filled in the blanks.

Winter nodded her head.

"I was able to postpone our meeting." She replied.

Thomas looked at her and scratched his head.

"I hope that's enough."

"I hope so too. Arsen can't find out." She whispered.

"He will be blinded by rage, by jealousy and start a war." Thomas answered.

Winter nodded her head again.

"Be careful, the king is wicked."

"I know, but someone needs to stop him." She replied.

"That someone hasn't to be you." He searched her eyes.

But Winter knew the answer they held.

"Your nana was right." He sighed.

"She had always known that you were destined for something great. You will survive Winter I don't doubt that, there will be lots of Whitefortis alphas to tell stories about. But it will cost you." He sighed.

"How do you know all these things Thomas, my nana lived with us in the pack?" Winter asked.

"Your nana had a gift, she knew what her future would be like, before it even happened." Thomas was silent for a second.

"She knew that we wouldn't spend the future together, but she also knew that if she tried to change the future, she never would have met you."

He looked out over the fields as a tear escaped his eyes.

"She didn't know everything wen she had to leave me, so she sent me letters over the years. Choose wise Winter, your nana thought that leaving me would save me, but in the end, it killed herself." He softly smiled.

Thomas softly brushed a loose strain of hair out of Winter's face.

"You look so much like her."

Winter was silent at his words.

"If I can save our pack from war, don't you think then it's my duty to at least try?" she finally asked.

"Yes, it is, but you are not leading this pack alone anymore, not after tonight." He added.

"Talk to him. At least let him know what you are planning, but do it carefully you don't want war."

Thomas tried to persuade her. .

She grinned.

"I'll think about it."

She placed a kiss on Thomas head and rushed back towards the compound she needed to get ready for the ceremony.

Winter stared at herself in the mirror, she was wearing a beautiful long white dress. The high waisted skirt of the dress had a long sexy slit, displaying her beautiful legs. The top covered her breast with lace flower patterns, leaving her neck and collarbone exposed and accentuated.

Jenny had created a beautiful nonchalantly updo with her short hair, leaving a couple of strains out. Luke walked in her room and he stilled for a moment as he looked at her.

"You look beyond beautiful." He whispered.

"Arsen is the luckiest guy in the universe."

He walked over and hugged her tight.

"Are you nervous?" he asked.

"A bit"

She admitted as she fumbled with the ring Arsen gave her.

"Don't, he totally loves you. He won't hurt you ever." He replied.

"What if I have to hurt him?"

Winter asked eyes filled with tears as she looked up at Luke.

"The king." He softly whispered.

Winter nodded her head.

"Blade told me, don't be mad. We are just looking out for our pack."

"I know." She replied.

"Don't worry about that tonight, we will figure something out tomorrow. Enjoy your night." He said as he wiggled his eyebrows.

The ceremony was held in the upper territory that lay in the middle of the two compounds. Luke escorted Winter towards the edge of the field. The place was surrounded by tents all decorated with lights and flowers. In the middle of the field a large flower arch was constructed where Arsen stood waiting.

He couldn't see her jet.

"I thought you wanted to see everything before he saw you." Luke whispered.

"It's beautiful." Winter replied.

"It is. Lots of wolves wanted to make it extra special for the two of you. Arsen is as loved amongst his wolves as you are." Luke smiled down at her.

She looked once again over towards Arsen. He was wearing a royal blue suit, that fitted him perfectly. Even though it was snowing he wasn't wearing a shirt, his beautiful chest on full display. Perks of being a wolf Winter thought.

"Look how he is showing off, all proudly smiling." Luke smirked.

"You better make sure that he doesn't hear that." Winter replied.

A girl started to play violin making the wolves all silent.

"This is it. Are you ready?" Luke asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Winter replied.

And in that moment, it started to snow. Winter looked up towards the sky, everything felt perfect in that moment. The wolves formed a path towards Arsen and Luke started to walk with Winter towards her mate.

As Arsen eyes landed on Winter, the air was punched out of his lungs. In her beautiful white dress, she looked almost angelic. She was the most beautiful wolf he had ever seen. His wolf purred in happiness inside his head.

He was ready for this, ready to finally make her his own. He remembered the moment they had met so clearly as if it was yesterday. He had wanted to mark her right then and there, but he was happy that he had waited. There was nothing more perfect than this moment.

As Winter looked into his eyes he noticed that they glowed even more golden. He knew that they were destined for something great. He couldn't wait for the rest of their lives to start.

As Luke stopped right in front of Arsen he couldn't keep his eyes away from his mate.

"Alpha Arsen, I hereby hand you my alpha, if you ever hurt her there is an army of wolves who will happily kick your ass." Luke said with a big smirk.

"I will never." He replied without missing a beat.

Graham stepped forward.

"Alpha Winter, if you ever hurt our alpha, we have an army as well."

Arsen smirked at his words. But as he looked at Winter, he saw how she looked away avoiding his eyes.

"I'll do everything in my power to not hurt him." She whispered.

As she looked back up to his face, Arsen saw the fire burning in her eyes.

Josh stepped forward towards Winter and Arsen.

"Humans have a wedding ceremony, most wolves just mate. We wanted to give you guys something special, something in between. It's not every day that two strong packs join. It's not every day that you see your heartless alpha wagging his tail like a lovesick puppy."

Laughter went through the crowd.

"I am talking about you Winter." Josh smirked.

Winter raised her eyebrow in challenge.

"Had I known who you were that first day, I would us all have saved a lot of trouble." He smiled.

"Josh, we both know that even if you knew, you still would be routed to the spot as I commanded." She smiled sweetly.

"There were many times where I imagined what the mate of my brother would be like. Fierce, loyal and breath-taking were words that came to mind. But Winter you are so much more, you complete my brother and this pack in the best way possible." Josh smiled.

Tears formed in Winter's eyes at his kind words.

"Thank you." She whispered.

"I have both asked you to write something down, something that means a lot to you." Josh continued.

"Winter you can start." He added.

Winter nodded as she looked straight up to Arsen.

"When we just met, I wasn't really open to the idea of a mate. You asked me what I was sure of. The look you had when I described what you mean to me, made my heart melt. It's the look that made me fall for you, hard." She started.

"So, I took the liberty to write those words down for you, to keep me close. For days when not everything is going smoothly or just whenever you need it and I am not around to say them."

Winter swallowed as she felt how all eyes were on her.

"Arsen Storm, you calm me down. I feel at home and safe around you. And when you kiss me, my whole body lights up like a burning fire. When you are not touching me I long for you."

She read from the small paper with trembling hands.

Arsen eyes sparkled bright silver in the moonlight remembering when she had said those words on that special night. He softly licked his lips, letting her know what she did to him. As Winter handed the small paper to Arsen he pulled her closer and crashed his lips against hers. The field filled with howls. And Arsen smirked against her lips.

"You can say those words any time to me." He said.

"Preferably naked." He whispered.

Josh looked to Arsen.

"Your turn big brother." Arsen smiled and grabbed a little box from his jacket.

"Darling, a while ago you gave me your heart."

He started, Winter looked up and saw that the little heart still hung around his neck.

"From the moment I met you, you have mine. I gave you a ring back then, it was the one that hung around my neck. My grandmother had always said that that was part of the ring for my mate." He smiled fond at the memory.

"She always emphasized the 'part'."

He carefully opened the box revealing a beautiful rose gold ring with two round brilliant diamonds framing a third big diamond that sparkled beautifully.

"Arsen." Winter stammered.

"It's too much." She whispered.

"It's not."

He carefully placed the ring on Winter's finger on top of the small golden band she was already wearing.

"It's beautiful."

Winter whispered as Arsen softly kissed her hand with the ring.

"You are beautiful" he answered.

Blade stepped forward and handed Winter a small box. Winter smiled at him.

"You and your damn rings." She smiled.

"I can't compete to yours and I was planning on giving it later to you, but now seems a better timing."

Arsen laughed warmly and it warmed Winter's heart. She opened the box and took a golden square signet ring out of it. Arsen looked intensely as she placed the ring around his finger. He looked with a burning desire at Winter making her blush crimson.

"It's perfect." He replied.

Winter grabbed Arsen's collar and now it was her turn to kiss him. She devoured his mouth in seconds, he pulled her closer demanding more of her. Howls filled the air again.

"Easy tigers" Josh voice cut through the tension.

"We are almost done, then you two can go at it like there is no tomorrow."

Arsen smirked dirty at Winter.

"Or until he can't take it anymore." Winter replied.

Laughter followed and Arsen kissed her again.

"We'll see about that." He smirked.

"With you two mating the whole pack is convinced that we stand at the start of a great new future. We are all looking at you two to guide is into that new future. But for tonight we won't expect anything from you two. Except for the mating." Josh smirked.

The violin started to play again and Arsen took Winter's hand.

"May I have this dance, Darling?"

"There is nothing I would rather do." She answered.

Arsen pulled her close to his chest as he escorted her over the dancefloor. A waltz started to play.

"You know how to dance?" She asked.

"I do. Don't look so surprised." He softly kissed her head.

"I love you." He softly said.

"To the moon and back" Winter whispered.

Arsen smiled down at her.

"I want some time with you alone away from prying eyes." He whispered in her ear.

Winter looked up in his eyes.

"Are you scared?" he asked.

She studied his handsome face for a few seconds.

"No, it's you. It's how it's supposed to be." She smiled.

Arsen dipped her low and kissed her affectionately, his tongue trailed over her shoulder and a shiver ran over her spine. A moan escaped from her lips and a grin appeared on Arsen's face.

"Alpha."

Graham was by their side the moment Arsen pulled her back up.

"You want to leave?" Graham asked.

"Yes, we do."

"But there are more wolves that want to dance with our new alpha."

Arsen looked him death in the eye.

"But that can wait." He stammered.
