Chapter 13

~M

I sigh and brush my fingers through my hair.

"Just move aside," I command looking at the trio, which I guess is a family. Jasmine and Oliver being siblings but the blonde woman doesn't really look like either of them.

However, they don't budge; they exchange glances debating whether or not to stop to their Luna or let her escape. I am not in the mood to waste time, so again I command them, "Move."

"No," Oliver and Jasmine say in unison.

"If something is wrong you should talk to us Luna. Running is not the answer," the blonde woman says and steps between the pair the siblings.

"It's okay I just-" I begin but I am cut off.

"It's not right for a Luna to run"

"I know if my mate left me I would be devastate" Jasmine tells me.

"Think of how this will effect the Alpha "

"A Luna is an important person, you must fill in the role"

They a talk at once telling me to think of my position and rank. All things I've heard before. All things I could care less about.

I was tired of people telling me how to act and how to feel, and all at once the barrier I built to hold in my anger broke. Ever time I held my tongue for the better out come, it was all pulling out as if steam was streaming from my ears.

I was tierd of doing that 'for the better'. I'm done being silent and I need to be heard.

"Your not acting like a true Luna," Oliver says.

" !" I shout letting my Alpha voice out, along with all the built up anger that is burning inside my heart and eating at my pride.

"What would a child like you know of my problems? I am not running away, I am quitting. I am done with people, like you, telling me that I need to stop running that I need to fix myself. That I'm a Luna now and I need to fit the tittle. I didn't ask for this. I didn't want this, and I will not be forced into this. And my problems are none of your business. They never have been and never will be. So leave me alone." I say and they all wince at the aggressiveness of the Alpha tone.

However, Oliver doesn't back down, and he puts his arm out in front of me.

"You are our Luna! Your problems are our business. You are our life line, you make the Alpha stronger which makes the pack stronger." He shouts at me, I growl at him for his disrespecting. Jasmines puts a hand on Oliver's chest moving him back.

"If you have a problem that you can't talk to the Alpha about, then trust your pack. You mean the world to us," Their mom quires.

I glance back at her, not sure whether to bother to tell her. Would she understand? Would she make me go back? If Luke found out I tried to run he would be furious.

"Luna, how about you come with me?" Jasmine chimes in while holding her brother back.

"Our family runs a day care... Well it's more of an orphanage. Anyways, it's great way to get to know some parents in the pack, as well as the next generation of wolves." She says while smiling sweetly.

"No thanks," I say not looking at her.

"Please Luna, they would love to see you," she pauses then adds, "and after we show you around a little more. If you still want to, we will let you leave."

"What?!" Oliver roars and this time his mother steps in. She places a firm hand on his shoulder to hold him in place.

"Fine," I say and Jasmine smiled and glances at her mother, who nods.

Almost approving.

"Great, come with me, I'll show you too the day care." She says then paused and holds out her hand.

"I'm Jasmine by the way, no last name," she says and I shake her hand gentle as she smiles at me.

"And this is Oliver. He's my brother." She says and we both glance at the upset looking young man. He grunts a response but doesn't say anything else.

"And this is our provider, Mrs. Crystal," she says and the blonde woman smiles warmly at me.

"You all go ahead I'm going to finish the business I need. Luna, it was a pleasure," Mrs. Crystal says and hugs me tightly. I stay stiff in her arms, not sure of what to do. She smile since more before walking past us.

We all stare after her, unsure if she will tell the Alpha of my attempt to leave.

"Anyways, let's get going," Jasmine says with a fake pleasantry. She is obviously trying not to seem nervous, but I notice the shaking of her hands as she leads me and Oliver to the Day Care.

We only walk for a few minutes and the tense air is filled with Jasmine talking as Oliver and I walk beside each other. Not evening sparing a glance at one another.

I doubt we would be able to push our pride a side to really know each other. Even if we did it would make a difference, I won't see him again after today. I glance at my feet and listen to what Jasmine is saying.

"The Dar Care is for the pups that have lost their parents and some are young and confused, so it can be a tough transition for them. My mate, he doesn't live with us, but kids of all ages love him. Anyways we try to make it had easy as possible. Then there are the older ones who think they know everything," she says with a stiff laugh.

"Little Devils," Oliver says and I nod my head in agreement.

"What are you guys saying? Kids are angles!" She says turning her head and shoulders to glance at us.

I like kids and they adorable but they are FAR from angles.

"Are not,"

"Are not,"

My head snaps towards Oliver as we both finish the sentence in unison and he meets my gaze. Jasmine raises and eye brow at us and chuckle without forcing it.

Oliver still holds my gaze with a small smirk.

"We're here," Jasmine cries as we approach a fairly large looking house. Brick build and red shutters and door.

Probably 2 or 3 stores, maybe 5 bed rooms, and a large backyard. A couple weeks ago I would have thought it was a mansion, but after living in a mansion it has nothing in comparison.

"Jaz!" I hear shouts from inside the home and then a stampede of little feet running towards us. I feel Oliver automatically tense beside me.

"Get ready," Jasmine says and I feel myself getting into a small fight stance.

And all at once a group of children come running out the front door and the wall of kids collide with Jasmine all trying to hug her at once.

The children are all ages and wearing average hand-me-down rags. However all of them seem healthy and happy.

"Hey guys," she sings and spreads her affection between them all.

"Look what I made!"

"Guess what my teacher said to me!?"

"Sarah pulled my hair!"

"Where is your mate, I wanna play with him,"

"I'm hungry!"

"Pick me up!"

They all started talking at once and I counted about 15 trying to get to her at once.

"Good god," I mumble staring at her as she is calming giving them her undivided attention, completely ignoring me and Oliver.

"It's amazing isn't it?" He asks and I notice him staring in aw as well.

I simple nod not needing to reply to him, as if he understand without verbal communication.

"It amazes me everyday how no matter how tired or sad or angry she is. She has enough energy to handle these kids," he says.

I stare at Jasmine and see the glow she has when she with them. And I think to Jason, I had promised him I wouldn't go anywhere. Without thinking about him and how he feels, I was ready to run.

And what about Luke.

God if Luke found me after I had ran away I would be allow out of his hold.

Was I ready to take those chances?
