Chapter 2

~M

"No," I say and leaning on a tree.

"But you said you would," the kid whines.

I found out his name is Jason. That he is the son of an Alpha but his brother will become the next alpha as soon as he finds his mate. Which he is impatiently looking for.

Jason is very smart and oh so charming for an 11-year-old. "No. I said someday. As in never," I remind him and he stands upon the boulder he was sitting on.

"Attention surrounding packs! Sophia the Rogue lies to children!-" he shouts before I grip his arm and pull him down.

"Shut up," I hiss and he just smiles widely at me. "I promise one day I will shift and show you my wolf," I say and he puffs his cheeks out with a frustrated sigh, sitting back down.

"Whatever," he says pouting. I smile a little at him and stand up. "But instead of transforming, I'll show you a few fighting tricks," I say and his eye brighten up.

"alright," he says and jumps off the boulder.

"First defense," I say and raise my fists up he does the same, mirroring me.

"Since your small you have an advantage against taller opponents." I say fixing his stance slightly.

"When I throw a punch at you I want you to duck okay." I ask he nods his head excitedly.

I throw a slow straight right punch and he dodges. "Now when you dodge you go down because it's easiest. Also when you bounce down into a squat you have more force to bounce up and upper cut you opponents chin." I explain and he stands back up and raises his fists.

"Alright so when I through my punch at you, you're going to dodge it and then try to upper cut me alright?" I confirm.

"With which hand?" He asks and I smirk.

"Which ever one you think will do the most damage," I respond and a grin breaks out across his face.

"Sophia has anyone ever told you your good with kids? You must really like us," he says and I look back at him surprised.

I smile and tighten my stance, "it's not that I like kids, it's just that they seem to like being around me. I can't imagine why though," I say and swing my arm at him with more force than necessary.

He doges by squatting down and bounces back up to swings his fist up. I put my palm under my chin so I catch his fist.

"Not bad," I pause, I move his arm straight in front of him, " when you make a fist don't put your thumb out like that. Put it at the bottom of the fist," I say. Demonstrating with his hand.

He punches the air a couple of times and I hold his shoulders "it's not in the body, it's the force of your arm," I say.

I then show him where to place his hands after he punch. Which is to the side of your hip. Hand still in a fist and palm up.

He punches the air again and this time it makes the 'swish' sound. I smile.

"Your a natural," I say and he looks over this shoulder at me making a sad face.

"Can you help me like this everyday?" He asks and my eyes soften at his request.

"I'm sorry love but no. I have to keep moving," I say and he sets his arms down and stands out of the stance.

"I get it. But if you ever need a place to stay. You can always come to me. Your like my best friend," he says "plus the only person with a British accent I know," he adds and I laugh and ruffle his hair.

"Thank you Jason, your like my best friend too," I say.

He opens his mouth to say something, but he is suddenly grabbed by the collar of his shirt by a big man out of no where. He looks to be in his mid twenties with dark skin and a scar on his shoulder.

"Jason!" I shouts and reach for him but two other men grab me from behind. One holds my hair, and the other holds my arms.

I squirm in their arms "let me go!" I shout and try to reach Jason.

"She's a Rogue," the man holding my hair says to the man with Jason, he has a scar running across his face the ends at his lips.

"Kill her," he says and Jason tries to spin out of his grip. "No! Stop! She is-!" He says but the man yanks his shirt making Jason stand behinds him.

I found it very weird almost protective but I didn't have to long to dwell on it.

I went limp in his arms making the men behind me confused and losses their grips. Then I suddenly kick one is the side. I grab the other mans arms and toss him over my shoulder landing on his back.

Jason frees himself and runs toward me. But the man I threw gets up and pulls a gun out from his belt.

He is wobbling slightly ( must have hit his head to hard on the ground)

He fires the gun and it's aimed directly for Jason. "Jason! Move!" I shout and run to him and jump at him. Grabbing his waist pushing him out of the way and placing my other hand on the back of his head.

I land on my back with him in my arms on top of me. "Ow," I say as we slowly sit up.

"Are you okay? Did you get hit?" I ask. He stands on his knees and I stay at eye level. I move his head around and examine both arms and legs.

"I'm fine," he says and shaking off my hands. I sigh a relieve but when I hear tree leaves shuffle behind him. I place my hand on the back of his head and bring him in closer to me.

~ FLASHBACK ~

"If you ever want to scare a wolf all you have to do is growl," Brother said and I looked at him funny.

"Just growl?" I asked he nodded.

"You must have been an Alphas daughter because you have a growl that scared me straight," he said with a laugh.

I dig deep in the pit of my stomach, I think of them harming me or Jason. I think of all the other packs that mistreated my trust and fill me with rage. All the people that make my blood boil.

And I growl.

A low growl that emanates power and authority. It makes other wolves shiver. It's not a warning, it's a threat.

The men step back and bow their heads slightly in surprise and fear. Jason is motionless in my arms.

"Back the hell up," I command my eyes turning a dark moss green.

But Jason places his hands over mine and removes them. "It's okay," he says to me and my anger lessens, "they're from my pack," he says and looks over his shoulder at them.

"And they are eternally grateful to you, because if they had shot me. My father and brother would have mangle them. You are their savor." He says in a harsh and rasp voice.

"Um.. But Jason-" one of the men say.

"Do you disagree?" He asks sharply.

"No Mr. Grey" they say in unison, and I raise my eyebrows at his authority over the men.

"Oh. Well you could have said that earlier." I say sarcastically and try to get up. But I feel a sharp pain in my side. I loudly suck in a breath.

"What's wrong?" Jason asks. I lift my blue shirt slightly relieving where the bullet shot me, and answering his question.

"Sophia! Your shot! We have to get you a doctor. There is on at the pack house." He shouts and pulls at my hand.

I shake my head and stand up. "I'm fine," Jason stands up next to me.

I pick up my bag from beside a tree and swing it over my shoulder. "It was nice meeting you, stay strong," I say and ruffle his hair without looking down.

But he grabs my hand and pulls me back. I turn and look at his pleading expression with his big brown eyes.

"Please just to clean it," he says and I stare at him for a couple of second and then sigh.

"Fine but then I'm leaving," I say and a grin spreads on his face.

"Great! Your going to love our house! It's huge! But there are a lot of people living in separate house in our territory too!" He says as we walk through the woods. With the men close behind.
