《Forced Enemies》Chapter Fifty Five

We continued to walk down the dark hallways, the continuation of the gunshots still echoing around us.

Meet your father

Anger spread throughout me, and I clenched my hand around Kye's.

"What's wrong?" He asked, quickly looking down at me as he continued his long strides towards the door.

"My father," I gritted out. "He was the cause of this."

Kye looked conflicted, and I saw the sadness reek upon his face.

"Yeah-" he shook his head, "He-" he stopped, "we should have got you out in the first place."

I didn't answer him as we reached the end door, opening to reveal the courtyard.

My eyes widened as I looked around. Bodies were scattered, and most still standing, fighting the opposite enemy.

Kye didn't waste any time, he took out his gun, pointing it straight towards James guards.

"Kye-" I whispered loudly, "we're supposed to fight our people."

He didn't listen, and walked forward, releasing my hand.

"Forget the plan," he said, "I'm not killing our mafia."

I opened my mouth and closed it quickly, not hesitating as I pulled out my own gun.

I didn't separate from him, following in his footsteps as we crossed the yard.

He shot down two people that advanced towards us, his body acting like a shield to mine as we quickly walked.

"Your father is in the front," he said to me, not looking back as he picked up his pace, "we need to move faster before he leaves."

I nodded, briefly closing my eyes.

We travelled through swarms of people in our mafia, all of them coming from the front where more people have arrived.

Kye had stopped to talk to a couple of the men quickly, but would edge me to move along.

I wanted to fight alongside my people, complete something I have been training to do for months, my whole life even.

But I was told I needed to be safe, to get back to my father.

My father had put me here.

So what I did next was something I had to do, for both my mafia and myself.

When the next swarm of people came through, I backed away, watching as Kye continued to move forward.

I ran back, with the group of people, my gun in hand.

Adrenaline rushed through my body, and even though I was scared I wouldn't go back to my father, the cold feeling of the gun pressed to my palm felt like home.

The slick tug of the trigger from my finger made my veins run cold, the loud sound of the bullet rushing through the air made a smile tug at my lips.

One after one, each guard fell to the floor, a knife or gun in my hand as I moved onto the next person.

My body moved swiftly as I fought against people, the dagger twisting through my fingers as I stabbed them in the back, plunging the blade deep into their backs.

My face was bloody, my knuckles were bruised and my head ached, but I continued on, the anger built up from the last couple months releasing itself as killed the enemy; my mind blank.

Muffled voices surrounded me as I found the next person, their eyes wide as I came after them.

"Aliyah-" they said quickly, but I was so out of it, so into my thoughts I didn't hear them.

"Aliyah stop," the voice repeated.

I didn't stop, I ran towards them, the blade handle pressing deep in my palm as I prepared myself, their body fighting against mine.

And when the opportunity came for an opening, I plunged the blade into their stomach, their eyes wide as they stared at me.

"Bitch," she muttered out, "I thought we were friends."

I watched as Tori sank to the ground, and I kicked her further.

"I knew what you did," I said to her, "spreading those fucking rumours behind my back, telling everyone about my past relationship with Kye."

She didn't move, and I spat on the ground beside her.

"You work for the enemy and always will be," I said, "rot in hell."

I didn't know where max was, I may have already killed him.

But these people weren't friends, no matter the time I spent with them.

I knew at this point Kye was looking for me, so I went down the hallways once more, searching for the office door that belonged to James.

I was going to kill him myself, even if I died trying.
