《Forced Enemies》Chapter Fifty Four

The hallways were rushed with people.

Kye's hand stayed tight against mine, keeping me close to him as he pulled me along with him, trying to get through the swarms of rushing feet.

I think I'm in shock.

It all happened too fast.

I want to believe him, I really do. But a part of me can't help but think of all these months, where he treated me like shit.

But the way his face lit up when he finally told me the truth, and the meaning behind his lips when he kissed me.

I'm just confused.

I had to brush it off, for we were about to fight, something we've been training for months.

I don't know what the plan was, and I'm hoping Kye knew what he was doing.

He pulled me out of the hallway and into a small corridor, where no one was walking down, and he finally slowed down.

He bent down as we walked, and whispered in my ear.

"We'll have to fight at the beginning," he started, "and then we'll meet with your father, in a secluded place."

I gulped and nodded, tilting my head to look up to him as we confined to walk.

"Everything will be alright," he told me, "I promise."

When I didn't say anything, he stopped me, and placed his hand on my waist.

"Aliyah-" he whispered, placing his forehead against mine.

"Mhm," I said, closing my eyes.

"No matter what," he whispered again, "I love you."

I opened my eyes and looked at him, his eyes closed as he spoke.

"I love you too Kye," I replied, closing my eyes once more as I leaned into his touch. "Even after everything, I love you."

He took a deep breath, and then I felt his lips against mine.

This wasn't the fast paced kiss we had just shared moments ago. It was slow, soft even. It felt more than a apology, so delicate I could barely feel it.

I put my hand at the back of his neck, standing on my toes as he placed both hands on my waist.

I couldn't get enough, but we knew we had to go, and we both pulled away.

He placed a kiss on my nose and then my cheek, taking my hand in his again and walking down the long hallway.

We finally reached the end, opening up a door at the other side.

Inside was filled with guns, bombs and knives.

Kye quickly went to the guns, loading two big ones in his hand as I went over to the daggers.

I traced my hand along the handle, finding one that I liked and feeling the edge.

"It suits you," he said, pointing towards the dark blue handle.

"Yeah?" I said smiling, twirling it around before placing it in the hold at my belt.

He handed me the gun that he just loaded, grabbing a dagger himself and placing it at the side of his boot.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Nope," I said, and he smiled.

"You'll be fine, just do what I taught you."

I rolled my eyes, "oh shut up. My fighting skills are way better than yours."

He chuckled, his eyes travelling from the grip on my gun to my annoyed face.

"Sure al," he smiled and I pushed past him.

"Don't call me that, it sounds gross," and I knew he wouldn't stop.

"Whatever you say, al."

I ignored him as I opened the door, stepping outside as I heard gunshots echo around the halls.

"It's starting," I breathed, and I felt him tense up beside me.

"Stay close, okay?" He said and I nodded as I followed him through the hallway once again.

We passed other members, some with blood on their face and others with terrified expressions.

And I knew, that if my father was involved, no mercy was shown.

Another round of gunshots was fired, and I felt my chest tighten.

I almost fell over when Kye halted to a stop, and I looked around him to see what had stopped his movements.

Three people stood ahead of Kye, three of which belonged to my fathers mafia.

I didn't want to hurt them, but as I watched Kye advance towards them, I had no other choice.

I didn't clock my gun, nor did I grab the dagger at my side.

Two went for Kye as the other went for me, a gun in his hand as he stalked up to me.

As he aimed at me, I grabbed it, pointing it towards the wall as he fired.

I saw Kye look back, but quickly turned to the two men that fought him.

"Don't do this," I whispered, "you know who I am." I pleaded.

But they didn't answer as they continued to fight me, they're body moving around mine as they tried to find an open spot.

When they lunged for me, I took the back of my gun and jammed it in their head, making them fall to the floor.

When I wiped the blood off my cheek, I turned towards Kye, who stood over two unconscious bodies.

"Your father has them sent after everyone," he told me, "no exemptions, not even us."

I nodded, glancing down at the women that had just fought me.

"I don't want to hurt them, they belong to my mafia."

"You won't for long," he told me, "let's go, your father is waiting."
