《Forced Enemies》Chapter Forty Six

"Stay here," I heard Kye groan out, pulling off the blankets and quickly going towards the drawer for his gun.

"What's going on?" I asked him as he rummaged around everywhere, putting on a shirt and pants quickly.

"I don't know, but stay here," he repeated, giving me a quick kiss on the head before clocking his gun.

"No Kye," I said, quickly taking off the covers too. "I'm not losing you again."

"You won't," he told me, not letting me get up from the bed.

"Listen to me right now Aliyah," he said. "Stay the fuck here."

He pushed me back down quickly, not allowing me to get up as he ran to the door, leaving the room and locking it from the outside.

"Fuck," I whispered out, anger burning deep inside me as listened to the quiet sounds of the night, the light breeze tapping against the walls.

"You should really shut your windows," a voice said from the dark, and I watched as a man walked up to me.

"James will love this," he said deeply, looking down at my limited attire, one I was wearing for Kye.

"James won't love anything," I gritted out, pulling myself upwards and onto my feet.

The man tilted his head to the side, smiling, and evil grin on his lips as he stepped closer.

"You are defenseless," he whispered out, "no weapons, no boyfriend."

"I don't need anything to kill you," I spat, preparing myself as he stepped closer, a sharp knife in his hand.

"We'll see about that princess," he said, finally advancing towards me.

I easily dodged his punch, grabbing his under arm and twisting myself around him.

He quickly turned around, lunging the knife towards me once again, missing by an inch as I grabbed his forearm.

He was way stronger than me, making it difficult to grab onto the blade as I swung around him, blocking each punch that he pulled with his other hand.

"You bitch," he muttered out as I jabbed him in the throat, making him falter for a second.

I took that chance to take out his legs, using my foot to jam it between his ankles, making him fall to the floor.

He tried to use the knife again, but I simply swiped it from his hand, taking it into my own and plunging it deep into his chest, his body jolting as I twisted it.

"He will find you," he sputtered out, the blood pooling around him as I sank the knife in deeper, his voice trailing off as he grabbed onto his own wound.

"You'll never be safe," he continued on, "you will be his."

He stopped talking when I pulled the dagger out, his head rolling to the side as he stared off into the distance, his eyes blank.

I wiped the blood on my hands onto my night gown, brushing my hair out of my face as I stood up.

When a gun shot rang out I jumped out the open window and onto the grass below.

I quickly ran towards the driveway, where the sound came from. When I glanced around, I found a man on the concrete, Kye standing over him with a gun in his hands.

When he heard me walk over, he looked at me, his face furious.

"What did I tell you!?" He yelled, "Stay in the fucking-"

He didn't finish when he glanced at my bloody body, my bruised hands and my mangled hair.

He rushed over to me, checking my body for any injuries.

"What happened?" he asked, "are you hurt?"

I shook my head, brushing off his hands as he continued to check my body.

"There was another one," I told him. "He came through the window when you left."

"Fuck-" he whispered out, "I locked the fucking door."

I nodded. "He had a knife, but I got him." I said.

He didn't say anything more as he pulled me tight against his body, wrapping his arms around my waist as he hugged me tight.

"I'm glad you're okay," he said. "If I lost you-"

I didn't let him finish when I pressed my lips against his, silencing his words with a harsh kiss.

"I know," I whispered out. "I don't know what I would do either."

His hands were still around my waist as he kissed my head, putting his cheek against it as he continued to hug me.

"We need to leave here," he said to me after a moment, and I nodded in understanding.

"Yeah," I whispered, "I know."

He had one hand wrapped around me as he lead me back into the house, both of us packing our things and getting into the car, leaving our first safe house and moving to the next.
