《Forced Enemies》Chapter Twenty Eight

I couldn't stop staring at him.

The way his suit hugged his body nicely, the white button up showing his toned body underneath.

I felt like I couldn't breathe as my father walked me towards him, and when my father gave my hand to him, I felt like I was shaking.

He took my other hand, his eyes never leaving mine as I stepped onto the platform.

"We are gathered here today to join these two people together, Kye Santiago, and Aliyah Perez."

I didn't hear the rest of the words the person said, and I could only focus on the way his hands held mine, a slight twitch in his fingers that rubbed against my skin.

"I, Kye Santiago, will forever care for Aliyah, in sickness and in health, to have and to hold, until death do us part." Kye said, his eyes boring into mine.

"And do you, Aliyah, take Kye in sickness and in health, to have and to hold, until death do you part?"

I took a deep breath, briefly closing my eyes.

"I, Aliyah Perez, will forever care for Kye, in sickness and in health, to have and to hold, until death do us part," I said, letting out a small breath.

"Will you, Kye, take Aliyah to be your wife?"

"I do."

"And do you, Aliyah, take Kye to be your husband?"

"I do."

"Now in the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife."

The guests erupted into cheers, clapping and standing up, all of them waiting for one thing, and one thing only.

Kye's hand slipped to my waist, his fingers slowly pressing against my back to push me forward.

He moved his head to my ear, his hot breath trailing along my skin.

"You look beautiful," he whispered, his lips brushing against my ear.

And when he pulled back, I widened my eyes, his lips pressing against mine gently.

His mouth moved against mine, so softly, enough to send a shiver down my spine.

He pulled back, grabbing my hand in his and walking down the platform and onto the aisle.

People clapped and cheered as we walked past, and when I turned to Kye, he had a smile on his face, and I couldn't help but have one on mine too.

Dings echoed across the air, making everyone quiet down and stare at the person who now stood.

"I would like to thank everyone who came on such short notice," my father announced.

"But of course, the love of both Kye and Aliyah is so strong, a wedding shouldn't matter," he smiled.

"But in all seriousness," he turned to us at the table the two of us sat at, "I'm happy for both of you, and I can't wait to see the adventures of what this new mafia has to offer."

Everyone clapped as he sat down, everyone resuming to their talking and drinking.

I took a sip of the bubbling champagne, the expensive alcohol fizzing on my tongue.

It was just Kye and I at this table, and I couldn't help but feel awkward as we both sat there, the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife.

"We leave for our honeymoon after the wedding," he said suddenly.

"I don't have my bags packed."

"It's already ready for you in the car," he told me.

"I don't see the need for one when no one's there." I explained.

"Every married couple goes on a honeymoon, we need to make it seem real."

I sighed, taking another large sip from the glass.

"So it's official, we're married," I said quietly.

He took a deep breath and grabbed my glass of champagne, taking a large swig.

I rolled my eyes, "can you stop taking my drinks."

When I went to grab it, he moved his mouth to my ear, his breath making my throat hitch as it tingled my skin.

"Isn't that what married people are supposed to do?" He whispered, pulling away smirking.

He didn't move far, and his mouth was only inches from mine.

"People are watching," he whispered, slightly darting his eyes toward where a table sat, a bunch of people staring at us.

"Why?" I breathed out.

"Maybe it's because you look so beautiful," he muttered, making my eyes widen.

"Don't confuse me," I muttered back, and his eyes glanced at the way my lips moved.

"You're the one that's confusing."

I sucked in a short breath when he inched closer.

"They're still watching," he whispered.

"Then what should we do?"

He didn't say anymore when his attached his lips to mine, my mouth parting slightly.

"Fuck," he gritted out quietly, his hand slowly tracing patterns on my thigh.

"They're still watching," I whispered, slightly pulling away before I couldn't stop myself.

But I couldn't resist when his hand went to the back of my neck, his lips attaching to mine once more.

Once people cheered, he pulled away, a wide smile on his face as he turned back to the tables.

"Now that we're all settled in," someone said from the microphone.

"Can I please have the bride and groom come up to the dance floor, for their first dance."

I took a deep breath as I stood up, Kye's hand automatically grabbing mine as we walked to the middle of the room.

A song started to play as he put his hands on my waist, and I wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Now everyone is watching," I whispered, and he let out a breathy chuckle.

"Only because you're up here."

I rolled my eyes, my nails grazing against his neck and he hissed out.

"Bitch," he muttered.

"Asshole," I said back, our bodies swaying to the slow music.

His fingers dug into my waist, making me quietly cry out in surprise.

"Two can play that game," I whispered, purposely stepping my foot on his.

He let out a curse word, only to pinch the skin at my waist again.

And when I made move to punch him lightly, the music stopped and everyone clapped as they got up, making their way to the dance floor.

He didn't pull away from the next song, and I found myself smiling as we danced more and more.

And even after we left the building, letting everyone enjoy themselves to the party, I felt my heart swell with joy as we drove to the airport.

And when Kye held my hand on the way to the private plane.

I could help but think this wasn't so bad.

Oh shit, what is he doing to me?
