💙
The day I understand what goes through this woman's head will be the happiest day of my life.
She avoided talking to me in the car and it pissed me off. But I couldn't stay annoyed long because when we boarded the plane, Luna placed her head on my shoulder and all my tension dissipated. Now she sleeps and I feel like a complete stalker as I watch her pouty lips fall open or come together in a frown, and the way her eyes will tighten slightly in her sleep. What is going on through that head?
I try to sleep as well but I can't take my mind off the case and Luna's fears. Masbourian.
My first year in the FBI we came across Masbourian. Smuggler, trafficker, murderer, drug dealer, and a funder of war. He also likes to play games and has had his eyes set on me. Now I'm fine with that as long as they don't shift to Luna.
Masbourian will surface for a moment then retreat back into his hole, making it hard for us to catch him. But each time the mole comes up we get closer to bopping him on the head.
Three hours later we are climbing into a car sent by the FBI to take us to the headquarters in Miami. Luna hasn't let go of my arm since the flight and I didn't object for one second. I like having her this close. Kissing her forehead, I look at the scenery from outside of her window. Trees, hotels, shopping strips, the bureau.
I help Luna out of the car and we go into the bureau to check in and get everything organized for the gala tomorrow. It's around 4 pm when we finish, taking our own car to go to our temporary home for the duration of our stay.

When we arrive to the house, I am kind of awestruck. The place is beautiful and was not at all what I was expecting. The house is right by the beach with a modern yet traditional exterior that has lots of large windows. I think I am going to enjoy staying here.
When I park, Luna climbs out of the car, leaving me to take out the bags as she unlocks the door. Dragging the bags behind me, I walk through the open doors once again admiring the house we are in. Floor to ceiling windows line the back wall giving us a beautiful view of the backyard deck and ocean.
"Welcome to Miami, Carter," Luna says, taking her bags from me and heading in the direction of the stairs. "I'm gonna go upstairs and get unpacked. Meet back down in five?"
"Yeah, sounds good," I answer distractedly as I take in my surroundings.
After another moment, I head upstairs to get unpacked then head back downstairs to wait for Luna. As I wait, I explore the backyard.
On the deck there's a sitting area and a grill to the left and a built in hot tub to the right. I stare out at the ocean, leaning against the railing and enjoying the view as I wait for Luna.
I feel Luna's presence before her arms wrap around my waist and she rests her head on my back. Pulling her around the front I trap her between my arms and the rail as I look over the outfit she has changed into. A tight denim skirt and a white cropped tank top. She never wears things like this at home.
Then I hear the whistle in my ear reminding me of the people listening and watching. I know it was Derek who whistled. Idiot.

Luna looks up at me from her eyelashes and I want to pull her back inside to hide her from the world. She pulls me out of my thoughts when she asks, "Are you ready?"
"Should I change?" I question back.
Her small fingers play with the hem of my shirt, her eyes never leaving mine. "I like you like this," she says softly. "I just wanted to get into the feel of Miami."
I nod and place a kiss to her nose before guiding her back to the sliding glass doors. I'm blindly following her, my eyes trained on her nice round ass. Damn, this girl is hot. And the idiot in my ear can see it too.
"Eye's on the prize," Derek says in my ear.
"Watch your six Luna because Carter sure is," Emily snitches.
Luna stops and turns to me. Chuckling, I walk up to her and wrap my arm around her waist. Then I smack her ass, unable to resist. She glares at me and shakes her head, calling me a prick. But she doesn't shove me off, even when we walk out the doors and she locks up, holding onto my hand as she does.
This week, Luna is my wife. And I'm going to enjoy it.

8 163Snereloa Rebirth
In the darkest shining void, an ethereal being holding a scepter floats toward a nebula made up of the souls of the dead from all realms awaiting to be reutilized into the cycle. They aren't a deity of death, but one tracking an anomaly that can't be processed and completely wiped clean as they enjoy calling it. A fresh start, without shackles or remnants of what once was. Life is a price paid by all living beings, but like any transaction, we give it something in exchange for our memories, our feelings, our emotions, our past, and future, our ambitions and our dreams. Those all fuel the fire of creation, but so do grief, and pain. Every moment of suffering is the price, every living moment is paid at our death. Sometimes some have so much piled up that their soul and heart end up damaged. Be it loss of trust or being unable to truly live their life, those shackles are like an anchor that keeps the soul stable when on the verge of breaking apart, keeping it together at an immense price. Those unlucky souls are forced to be put into another life indebted, in the unlikely possibility of their defect healing themself in that new life. Their memories aren't intact after all—everything has a price—and that pain and fear are what they carry, while their partial amnesia is their shackle. This is the story of one such soul, of a girl sent into a world of legend and novel of fantasy, dragons and magic. A world away from what she knew, in which she will hopefully heal, be happy, and survive its side of darkness.
