Days come and went and it wasn't long until we were back in New Hampshire.

I was sitting at my desk when dad walked in. "Hey, son! Seeing Vaylin at lunch?"

"Umm, I'm not sure why are you wanting more chocolate?"

"You could say that. I will take anything that she can sell me."

"Hey, dad can you give me the name of your jeweler?"

He sit down across from me and smiled. "Can I know why?"

"I think you know why dad. Vaylin is the one for me and I want to marry her."

"Oh just what I wanted to hear. Well, we call him Platt so when you walk in tell him you are my boy."

"Thanks, dad. I got permission from Chuck and I am ready. Is that's the one that's downtown right?"

"Yeah, or I can call and have him come here."

"Thanks, dad but I will go down to the store during lunch and see what I can find, and then I'll pick you up some chocolate."

"Good luck and son I'm happy for you."

"Thanks, dad! You just want chocolate." I laughed as he walked out the door.

I look up at the clock and it's 11 am so I'm going on to the jewelry store and then to see Vaylin.

We have been taking turns spending the night with each other and I have found I can't sleep without her anymore.

I grab my suit jacket and slip it on and head out to my truck. I pull up at the jewelry store and walk in and an older man is standing at the counter.

"Can I help you?"

"I'm looking for Platt?"

"That would be me." He smiled.

"I'm Theo Kingston and Donnie is my dad and he sent me to you."

"Oh, Donnie! How is he doing?"

"Ornery as ever."

"Sounds about right. So what can I help you with today?"

"I'm looking for an engagement ring."

"Any idea what you want?"

"I have no idea because this is my first time."

"Alright let me show you what we have." He said walking across the floor.

I follow him over to some glass cases and he pulls out a velvet case with a bunch of rings in them.

We looked through several rings until I saw it. I knew that was the one and I smiled and Platt laughed. "I think you found it."

"This is the one." I smiled.

I followed him over to the register and he got it all wrapped up and I paid and headed out to my truck. I locked it in the glove box and headed over to Candy Rush.

When I walked in the back door I walked to Vaylin's office and she was sitting at her desk with a pair of black glasses on.

"Well hello, who are you with those sexy glasses on?"

"Hi, Theo!" She smiled.

"I didn't know you wear glasses sweetness."

"Only to look at the computer sometimes."

I walked around behind where she was sitting and leaned down to her ear. "Can you wear those in bed sometime?"

"Theo!" She laughed.

"Dad sent me over for some candy but I'm here for an agenda."

"What is that Theo?"

"My place tonight at 7 for dinner."

"What's on the menu?"

"It's a secret. But I promise you won't regret it." I smile.

"Ok, I will be over a little after 7 then. Do I need to dress up?"

"No just be comfortable sweetness."

"Alright then. Well, I better go finish up my chocolate so I can leave on time."

"Sounds good! I will see you a little later then." I walked over and kissed her lips and pulled her into a tight hug.

I stopped by a restaurant and ordered the food that I want to pick up by 6:30 pm and paid before going back to work.

Once in my office dad walked in. "Did you get me some candy?"

"I did."

"How about a ring?"

"I did that as well."

"Well let me see."

"It's locked in my glove box but Platt was a nice man and helped me to pick the perfect ring."

"When are you going to propose son?"

"Tonight! I already have the dinner set up and I told her to be at the house by 7 so I'm going to pick up the food and head home and light some candles."

"Well, I'm sure she will say yes son, and I'm proud of you!"

"Thanks, dad!" I watch as he walked out the door and I couldn't help but smile. I'm so excited. Not really nervous or anything.

I worked on a few files until it was time to leave and go pick up the food.

I decided to stop and pick up some roses for her and then picked up the food and headed to the house.

I kept the food in a heat bag so that it wouldn't get cold until she got here.

I went around and lit some candles and had her dozen of white roses in the middle of the table and grabbed some plates and silverware and put them on the table.

I grabbed the chilled wine and added it to the table as well and looked up at the clock and it was almost time for her to show up.

I went upstairs and put more deodorant on and a little cologne and looked at my hair.

My god, I'm so nervous. Shit! I forgot the ring in my glovebox. I grabbed my keys and ran outside to my truck.

I fumbled around with the keys and unlocked it and grabbed the bag.

I went back inside and upstairs with the box and left the bag on the dresser while I held the blue velvet box in my hand.

I opened the box and looked at the ring and smiled. I never dreamed I would find the most perfect woman and I was about to ask her to be my wife.

God I am sweating bullets! When the doorbell rings I almost trip over my own feet to get to the door.
