《Bear Roberts》Chapter Seven

Two steps forward and three steps back.

That's what it feels like living with Bear.

I made him dinner and he didn't even eat it. I got mad and threw it at his door.

He proceeded to get even more mad at me.

Now I am back to just getting grunts and scoffs.

Yay me.

I drop beside Stacey, and get my books out of my bag. "I officially cannot be with another guy now," I say to her.

"Got It bad for Bear still?" Stacey asks, not looking up from her phone.

"Yes," I groan. "And last night, I saw him shirtless."

"Nice?"

"Not just nice," I whine. "I was in heaven."

"Just fuck him already," Stacey mumbles.

"As soon as I touch him, he freaks out and walks away," I say. "That's not happening anytime soon."

"Well maybe you should go out this weekend," Stacey states. "With Liv."

"Why not you?" I ask.

"I'm going out with Henry," she says.

"The waiter!?" I screech.

"Yes," she mutters.

"I'm so happy for you," I awe.

"Thanks," Stacey murmurs. "It's only our second date though, so I don't want to get my hopes up."

"One more and-"

My phone starts going off and I scramble to pick it up. I see that it's my dad calling.

"Hey dad," I say, as I answer my phone.

"Hey Daniella," he says. "Did I catch you at a bad time?"

"I'm just about to start class," I say. "What's up?"

"Oh I was just wondering if you got the invitation to your aunts wedding," Dad says. "Surprisingly she sent me one."

"It is a bit weird, since it's your ex-flings sister," I laugh. "But yes I did get the invitation."

"Are you going?"

"Maybe," I say. "Mum and Jason will be there though."

"It's up to you sweetie," he says.

"Oh by the way, I found out Bear's real name," I say.

"It's not Bear?" Dad gasps.

"No it's Mitchell," I answer. "Mitchell Bear Roberts." Dad was quiet on the other line. "Dad?"

"Daniella, Mitchell Bear Roberts is an ex-convict," dad says. "He went to prison for stealing cars."

"That's not funny dad," I laugh, nervously.

"I'm not kidding," dad deadpans. "He got out on parole last year."

"How long was he sentenced for?" I whisper.

"5 years," dad states. "He got out in three though, cause of good behaviour."

"Oh my god," I whisper.

"Do you want me to come over?" Dad asks.

"No," I say. "I'll be alright."

"Be careful okay?"

"I will," I murmur. "Love you dad."

"Love you too."

I hang up the phone and I see Stacey smirking at me. "His name is Mitchell huh?"

"Hot right?"

"Very," Stacey answers. "Bears hotter though."

"True," I murmur.

I storm into the apartment and glare at Bear who was sitting on the couch, watching tv. "Your an ex criminal?!" I scream.

His face remains calm. "Yes."

"It's something you sought of tell somebody before they move in with you," I snap, storming over to him and crossing my arms.

He stands up and I gulp, as his face remains blank.

What is that suppose to mean!?

"Would you have moved in if I told you?" He asks, his voice cold.

"Of course I would have," I growl. "I'm not shallow."

He scoffs. "Right."

"What's that suppose to mean?" I say, feeling hurt. Does he really think I'm shallow?

"If I told you, I had been to prison, you would've been running out that door," he hisses.

"Not if you told me it was only for stealing cars," I deadpan.

"And assaulted a cop," he says.

"You did!?"

"In prison," he says.

That sounded kinda hot.

"I found out from My dad, who's a captain at the NYPD," I blurt out.

"You got him to run me through the system, didn't you?" Bear questions. I walk backwards as he tries to get closer to me. I end up with my back to the front door.

"No," I answer. "I told him your name and he knew you immediately."

I flinch as his hand slams against the door beside my head. "I guess I was that big of a case to forget," he says.

"S-stop trying to scare me," I whisper.

"If I'm being scary just leave," he snaps.

"I didn't say I was scared," I growl. "I said stop trying to scare me cause I'm not LEAVING," I scream.

He smirks at me, before walking away to his room, slamming the door.

What the hell was that!
