Sheila

We were now the Stragon's, meaning I was now Sheila Stragon and Zaivinth was... well, Zaivinth Stragon. When meeting a mate, you lose your last name, your family name, and create one of your own. Normally by combining the two names. Unfortunately we both didn't have last names because Zaivinth refused to keep his and I, well, I didn't really get the pleasure of having a family till ninety years ago.

Now I had my own family. I have four children if you don't include Xion. Three boys, and the youngest, a girl. My favorite was obviously the oldest, and the twins. My mate on the other hand, loved the girl.

The oldest was now twenty nine, the twins were twenty, and the girl, the most lovely age... seventeen. I rested a hand on my mates, as we looked down at the courtyard where my eldest was firmly kicking my daughters ass. Just because the boys were my favorite, doesn't mean I don't love every part of my daughter.

Tilly was practically the splitting image of me. Grey eyes and black hair. She was pretty with strong structure and in perfect shape. Her only flaw was her sassy attitude and the spoiled brat personality. This is all due to her father, and none due to me. "It's because your built stronger than me!" She whined, getting off the dirt, her sword in her hand.

"Oh, it's because he's built stronger than her?" I looked at my mate with wide eyes. "That never stopped me from beating you." Zaivinth rolled his eyes and rested his face on his hand.

"You should go talk to her about that," he gave me a side eye and went back to watching our kids.

"And get the 'mom you don't understand!' Or the 'you don't love me'. Mmm, I think I'll pass." I rolled my eyes. If I remember correctly, I was only a year older than her when I took down an entire kingdom and I ended a war. But who's counting.

He sighed, "she has grown to be ignorant." He said it so bluntly I almost fell out of my chair. This was his prized daughter he was talking about. Then he stood from his throne and walked over to me holding out a hand for me to take. I looked up at him and saw that he still didn't look a day over thirty, just like myself.

"W-what are you doing?" I took his hand, confusion written all over my face. We started taking the stairs down to the courtyard where I heard the sounds of swords fighting. I looked into his blue eyes as I held his arm formally.

"I think that our daughter needs an example," he smiled and my eyes widened to the size of dishes.

"An example?!" Sure I have been training, but I've been training to protect not to attack! I still do my twenty mile runs each morning, and barely slack, but I had no intention of fighting anyone, especially today.

He just smiled, his eyes crinkling, then he looked towards the maid, "grab us our weapons." The maid bowed and scurried off to the barracks where our weapons were held. Then he pulled me into a hug, "don't tell me the goddess of shadows has gotten rusty." He wrapped his arms at my lower back.

It turned out that by being adopted into a family of gods, the goddess of creation herself should bestow a power onto me. But that wasn't the case at first, which was a whole lot of trouble dealing with, but that's story is for a different time. Luckily I had Alcina, Cebrus' mate on my side. I wouldn't have been able to do it without her.

"Rusty isn't even in my vocabulary," I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. Seconds later, we were stopped by very familiar pair of coughs. I turned my head to see my twins, Ciel and Hedus. They are fraternal twins, due to the fact that one, Ciel, had blue eyes and was a shadow wolf, and Hedus had grey eyes and was a dragon.

"Mom I understand you love dad, but can we keep the smooches to a minimum, especially in public," Hedus, the more energetic of the two commented, which put a smile on my face.

"What are you going to do? Stop me?" I said wrapping a tight arm around Zaivinth. He followed after me by wrapping his hands around my waist. Hedus' smile widened at the challenge but his brother stepped up.

"As much as I love my siblings, personally, I think you should have stopped at two. Which also means, I don't want any more siblings." He was referring to his oldest brother, Cion, and himself, the oldest out of the two twins.

"Oh stop," I waved a hand him laughing. I saw the maid come out, with two others, one holding my sword and shield, the other holding my mates gear. "Looks like they are here." I smiled up at my mate.

"What are those for?" Hedus ran up to the maids, who flinched back nervously. They were both lookers, so it's no surprise the maids are a little antsy around them. I walked up behind him, thanking the maids, as I took my weapons into my hands.

"Your father," I looked at Zaivinth who was strapping his shield to his arm. "Wants to teach your sister a lesson." I strapped my shield onto my back and attached my sword to my belt. In a second my sons swarm me.

"I haven't seen these in years. Is it true that uncle Ross really gave this to you?" Hedus asked looking at it with awe.

"Here, hold it." I unstrapped the shield and handed it to Hedus who's eyes sparkled with delight. "Ross kind of gave it to me. It was originally from the goddess of protection, but Ross gave it some revamps during the Mortal War." He was barely listening to be before running off to mess with his father.

I turned to Ciel who was a bookworm at heart and was always coming to be about history and science. Not to mention he never failed to come to me for questions about the war or how things work. This is where I took him on a trip to the gods of that certain creation, because they would explain it a lot better than I would.

I turned to look to see what my mate was doing. Only to see him and my son, Hedus playing a fun game of, hit each other with a shield and see who falls down first. I inwardly groan, why did I have to live with so many children. Then I looked back to Ciel who was still staring at me with wide eyes.

"Want me to test it on you?" I joked, holding it out to him, face down. "Here, you will learn better if you have a closer look," he smiled softly, I think he learned that smile from Cebrus who seemed to have taken him under his wing. Every summer Cebrus takes Ciel in to teach him the ways of the Winged. He would train with them and learn with them. I think that's how Ciel got his passion of learning.

"Mom?" I turned to see Cion walking this way with Tillia, Tilly, following behind him. Cion was a hybrid, a shadow wolf and a dragon, and Tilly was a pretty white werewolf, the opposite of myself. "What are you doing here?"

I had almost died when I had Cion, my body wasn't ready to have a hybrid. That's why it took me so long to have the twins. It took a lot of convincing my mate to try for another one. The gods clearly didn't want me to have a break, because after almost dying the first time, they gave me twins.

"Oh your father and I decided we wanted to see who was stronger between the two of us." I looked back to see Zaivinth and Hedus making their way over.

"Oh yeah, why do you guys want to fight anyways? Relationship on the rocks?" Hedus said a smirk on his face.

"No," I pointed a finger at him. "That is not what this is about." It was clear that he was spending too much time with Ross. "We just want to see who's stronger. Want to place bets?" I took the shield and sword from my twins outstretched hands.

"Dad," Tilly said wrapping her arms around my mates.

"I have to go with dad on this one, he is a dragon after all," Hedus gave a toothy grin and pointed to himself. I guess the dragons must stick together. I started to break out in a cold sweat, maybe my children didn't think I would win.

"Mom is going to win," Ciel stuck to my side. "She is a goddess after all." I rolled my eyes.

"I'm a Demi-God, barely a god at that," I said honestly looking up at Ciel who has long out grown me.

"Mom." Cion was a straight forward person like his uncle Fein, the god of guidance. I can't help but smile at this. I was sure the dragons and the twins would side with one another. I was pleasantly surprised.

"Alright. Ready mate," my mate looked at me with a hard look, as I grinned while I strapped my shield to my arm.

"Ready when you are."

THE CHILLLLLLDREN.
