Sheila

When I awoke up, there was Weni, or well... mom, looking down at me. "Good morning," then I slapped a hand over my mouth. "My breath smells bad, doesn't it..." my voice dragged on, I looked away shyly.

I hear her laugh, "I've seen you in much worse conditions, remember the time you looked at a blood moon?" She pushed the hair out of my face as I sat up.

Wait... I felt great! I raised my arms over head and stretched towards the ceiling. Then I groaned, "mom... please don't bring that back up," it was embarrassing, knowing that I threw blood up over something that I could have avoided.

I shoved my head into the pillow, as I hid my face from the embarrassment. I felt a soft hand on my back, "and let's not mention the time where you ran head first right into my wall," she stopped to give a hearty chuckle. "I was worried sick about how hard you hit your head, though you were just howling about your toes."

"Mom!" I threw my pillow at her and she caught it with ease. "Shhh!" I put a finger to my mouth, my cheeks aflame, trying to hush her. "I'm going to die from embarrassment!"

She stood from where she was seated, her hands on her hips. She craned over me, "isn't that a moms job," she pinched my nose and I struggled to get away, though before I could, she wrapped her arms around me. "I'm glad you are feeling better," then she retreated her hands back to her hips.

I watched as the night glow hit her, her silver hair shimmering in the moonlight. Her eyes reflecting the light, she was such a beautiful lady, I wish I had an ounce of her genes. Instead of this disgusting royal blood, that had abandoned me eighteen years ago. Almost nineteen.

"We should let your mate in, he has been sitting at the door this entire time," she turned, her long black dress and grey cape swaying in the air. She was truly a goddess, seeing her in this uniform... it was clear.

"He's been there the entire time?" I said, flipping off the covers of the bed as I swung my legs over the side.

She looked back at me, and nodded, then she placed a hand on the handle and pulled the door towards her. I leaned to the left to see my mate sitting on the floor, his back towards me. In an instant he shot into the air and dusted himself off before looking through the door towards me.

He smiled the second he saw me and that had a frenzy of butterflies erupt from my stomach. Then he looked to Mom and bowed gratefully, "thank you for taking care of my mate, when I could not." I cringed at my mate bowing, I didn't like him bowing to anyone.

Mom rested a hand on his shoulder, lightly tapping it, "rise your head, there is no need for thanks." Zaivinth rose his head and nodded in her direction.

"I am in your debt." He said with a hearty look, before walking over to me. I heard mom scoff before putting a hand back on the doorknob, ready to close the door behind her.

"Tomorrow, there are two more people that you have to meet. Then you can continue with your plans," she looked towards Vince who seemed to be reading her mind. What do they know that I didn't?

"Two people?" Though before she could answer the door had shut behind her. So I looked to my mate who was hovering over me. He placed his hands on the side of my hips. "Plans?"

"We are raiding the Faeries kingdom in two days, everything is in order," he winced and then sighed, "do you want to come?" A smile broke out on my face.

"Do I? Of course I do!" I wrapped my hands around his neck. "I hope that Azai suffers, this is what he deserved," for betraying my mate, Xion, and myself.

He sighed, "I can't believe I'm allowing you on the battle field so soon," he pushed me back onto the bed.

"Well, mate, help me regain my stamina," I smiled and placed a deep kiss onto his lips.

That morning I was up at the crack of dawn, my mate was still asleep, but I was itching for a run. I wanted to get back to my normal routine, I was sick of just sitting in bed. I love my bed as much as the next person, though there is a point where I just wanted to get out and run.

I threw on my clothes and tip-toed out the door. I started running the second I was out of the castle. I waved to the troops that were up eating or drinking. I got numerous "good mornings", or "blessings on the Dragon Empire," and so on and so forth.

When I was rounding the corner of the castle for the thirtieth time, I came to a screeching halt. Zaivinth was standing with his arms crossed, and a scowl on his face. "Sheila..." gosh I was in the dog house.

"Yes..?" I approached with caution.

"Tell me why your clothes are soaked with sweat the day after your full recovery." He walked down the black stone steps to meet me on the ground. He was towering over me and all I could do was give him a weary smile.

"If you are going to scold me..." I looked around for an escape, and before he could reach out and grab me, I turned on my heels and started running away. "Then you have to catch me!"

I heard a loud groan, then the pounding of feet. "You can't outrun me!" I heard Zaivinth shout from behind me. All I could do was let out a wicked laugh.

I got caught.

Though I didn't go down without a fight. He caught up to me on the twelfth lap, wrapping his arms around me and drawing me to a stop. Now I was stuck sitting in his lap while he worked on the paper work.

I was straddling him, rubbing circles into his back as he worked. This was my 'punishment' for getting caught. I wonder when mom would come and release me from this 'punishment'. I moved to get comfortable.

"Stop moving." He wrapped his arms around me, holding me still.

"Stop moving like this?" I wiggled in his arms again, this only earned me a growl.

"Don't pick a fight you can't win, love," he slid his hand into private territory. I curved out my spine, leaning into his touch.

That sex was wild. I was worried that the office table would crumble beneath us. I was never so thankful for the soundproof rooms. Vases were knocked off their resting spot, leaving us to make a group effort to clean it up. After we took a shower of course. Which may or may not have been together.

While we were cleaning there was a knock on the door. A very familiar knock. I ran to answer it, I swung the door open, to see my mom and two grumpy looking men behind her. Then behind them was my very energetic brother Ross, who waved.

"Ah, hello," I said a shy smile on my face, talk about overwhelming pressure. I was sure this was about to be my family. Would this need to be like an interview? I don't have that many achievements. I had only been in society for almost about a year now. My heart rate started to rise at how unprepared I was.

"Home, now," mom gave a pointed look to the men of the family, then reached out at hand to grab me. Then before I knew what was going on, we were floating through space.

In the distance was a golden palace, surly our destination. When we arrived, we floated down to the golden stairs, everything of this beautiful castle was made out of gold. Truly a palace fit for the immortals living to in it.

A hand still on my wrist, mom lead me to a table where she sat me down and sat to the right of me; next to her her husband who found his seat. To my left Ross slid into his spot. And next to him was the oldest brother.

"Now," she placed her hands on the table. "It's time to get to know everyone."

Wait. What?

I'm so tired!! My family is driving me insane!!

Guess who the other Gods abilities are?

Do you think she will gain powers now that she is family with gods?

How is Zaivinth reacting being left to clean the office by himself.

Do you think the rest of her adopted family will be cool?
