Last night was a day that I never wish to relive. Watching my mate stumble into the hallway like her life depended on it. Relying on just pure will to stop me, clenched my heart so tightly and I still had not recovered.
I hadn't truly grasped what she was going through. She would never tell me her pain, which is why when she broke down in tears in my arms, something I had only seen two other times, my soul shattered. All I could do was hold her tight into my arms to even think of atoning for my great sin.
My motivation to leave was due to her going to see those disgusting sirens, on a half a leg, to give me the only spirit stone left. After she had gone and done that, I knew I had to do more to help her. I didn't realize that my view of help was actually hurting her.
Hurting her to the point of tears. It's a miracle that she doesn't hate me.
No matter how stupid my mistakes are, or how ignorant I am, she had stuck by me, even ran after me at one point. And wherever she went, I would always find her, help her, care for her. When we fought, we always worked it out. We didn't fight just to fight. I think that's why we worked so well together.
Xion would work well with someone combative. Someone who would give him a run for his money. Me on the other hand. That would just be constant war in our relationship. We both know where and what we are good at.
So when I saw her pull herself up on that wall so desperately, I knew what I needed to work on. Work on keeping my mate happy. Because it seems I'm the reason for majority of her grief.
I sighed and looked at Ross, which he looked back at me with surprise, "well what's your name?" He placed a hand on the door handle.
"Zaivinth," then he opened the door, stopping whatever conversation that was being held inside. We walked inside to see Sheila at her desk with a paper forgotten in her left hand, a quill in her right. She flicked her eyes from Cebrus to us and instantly her eyes lit up.

"Ross!" She stood from where she was seated holding onto the desk for support, then she saw me, "Zaivinth!" She smiled looking between us both, "what are you guys doing here?"
"Your mate and I wanted to grow closer to one another. You know, heart to heart," he clapped a hand onto my shoulder, which sent my eyebrows sky high. "And what's better than seeing the one thing that connects us both!"
"Wait, Sheila, you know him?" I pointed to Ross who still had a sly smile on his lips.
She looked to Ross with a weary expression. "We've met, briefly." It was like she didn't know what to say.
I pinched my nose, something that I find myself doing a lot now that I had a mate. "How and where in the world, did you meet this character." I waved a hand in Ross' direction.
"Describe world," Ross said tied with his signature grin. It made me want to uppercut him. Does he know I'm a king? Respect was in order.
"Uh it's a long story," she gave an apologetic look to Cebrus who was standing close to the wall, probably wanting to get the hell out of dodge. Poor bird, got stuck in a middle of a fight. Then I had a flash back to before. So, scratch that, that Bastard deserves it for talking to my mate.
"You worry me mate, you befriend such weird creatures."
"Oh we are more than friends," I didn't know what had taken a hold of me. Anger shot through me and before I knew it, I had taken a swing. I connected my fist to his jaw. I inwardly groaned, now I had to commit to beating him up. That was not what I intended to do in front of my mate. So just as he was falling I grabbed his collar and shoved him up against the bookshelf.
"Zaivinth!" Sheila shouted my name, I gave her a glance, to where she was fumbling around her desk. "It's a misunderstanding!"
Then I look back at this Ross person to see him looking back at me and laughing. Why was he laughing? Why wasn't he struggling? I had my hand around his throat, how was he breathing? I'm glad he was breathing. But how?
Then all of a sudden Ross' eyes turned bright red and pushed my away from him. I stumbled backwards, and Cebrus caught me. He pushed me back onto my feet and was about to throw this bastard through a wall.

"Wait!" Sheila jumped into the middle of us. "Ross! Enough jokes! Explain yourself!" She looked me in the eye and held out both of her hands, like she was ready to hold me back.
"What do you want to know? I'm Weni's youngest son? I'm the god of Stars? Or you're my baby sister?"
"You're what?!" Sheila and I shouted in union. Then we looked at each other, the same expression on our faces. I watched her slowly turn to face Ross who had his hands in his pockets, his red eyes gone, rocking back and forth on his heels.
"I'm what?" He tilted his head to the side, a smile still spread across his face.
"You're Weni's son?" Sheila started, but before she could continue, I couldn't help but cut in.
"You're my mates brother?"
"You're the God of Stars?" Cebrus put a hand on my shoulder? His mouth open with sock. "Gods exist?" He looked up at me as if I had an answer. I just looked down at him with a just as surprised look. I had never been this puzzled, in at least two hundred years.
"I love mortality." He chuckled, he looked to my mate, "yes, sister," he was trying to play the title on his tongue. "My mother, is Weni," Sheila opened her mouth to speak, but Ross held up a hand to stop her. "Yes that means she is the Goddess of the Moon."
He pointed a finger at me. "You," I reeled backwards, I didn't know if it was possible to send a god to the underworld; but I was about to try. If he spoke to me like that one more time. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. "My family," he pointed to the window that was behind her desk. "Is trying to adopt her."
What the fuck does that mean?! I let out a growl, "get out of here." I stomped past Sheila and grabbed him by the collar and started dragging him to the door.
"Hey, hey, hey," he lightly patted my arm, or maybe he was trying to hit me, that was holding his collar hostage. "Are you sure you want to kick a soon to be in-law, and the god of the star you constantly wish too, out?" I froze instantly and look down at him with my brows furrowed, he wiggles his eyebrows back at me. Then I dropped him onto the floor.
"Ouch," he stood and rubbed his backside. "It seems I had not made a good first impression." He faced me and bowed slightly, it made me want to bow back to him, but I held back. "I'm sorry," he said looking at Sheila.
A soft smile grew of her face, "I'm not mad," I watched her lean against the desk.
She was such an angel, how was she not mad, at either of us. The only one who hadn't made a fool of himself was Cebrus who was pouring a large glass of vodka. Where did that vodka bottle even come from? What was more puzzling was that glass was all vodka, no ice. Good to know that my friend Xion had a new drinking buddy.
"I'm sorry." I whipped my head to Ross to see him with his hands behind his back, looking up at me. Did he just apologize to me? I scoffed and crossed my arms in front of myself. "I should have controlled myself better," he scratched the back of his head. "It was my first time interacting with mortals in a long time."
I looked to Sheila to see what I needed to reply with. She just shot me a glare. Fine, I'll play nice. Because and only because he might be an in-law.
"I'm sorry." I sighed out and I watching his face light up. Then fall.
"I think I need to go."
"Why?" Sheila pushes off the desk. Tell me why was she stopping him? Why was she stopping him from leaving! I almost shot her a glare, then I remembered I actually enjoy having eyes, so I withheld.
Then there was a knock on the door. Ross smiled, "that."
