Sheila

I woke up with sunlight shining into my face. I let out a little groan as I hid my face from the sun by snuggling into my mate. I heard him let out a sigh as he wrapped his arms tighter around my frame.
"Mm, good morning, Zaivinth." I mumbled and kissed the crook of his neck.
"Good morning, Darling." He kissed the top of my head in return.
"What's the time?" I raised my hands to my eyes and started rubbing them.
"Five till eight." I hummed out my reply. Then my eyes snapped open.
"Breakfast! We can make it to breakfast!" That would be a first in forever. Breakfast was at eight thirty, but Vince and I schedules always clash so we never make it in time.
I flipped off the covers on me and jumped out of bed, only for my legs to buckle. Which resulted in me falling flat onto my face. "Sheila!" I heard Zaivinth shout my name, though I just groaned and tried to push myself off the ground. I felt his arms wrap around me again helping me to my feet again.
"I'm sorrrry," I groaned out, rubbing my nose who took the majority of the pain.
"If you are sorry, then stop doing this. You jump out of bed every morning, for what? To fall?" He pinched my nose. "I know you are hungry, but please refrain from eating the floor." He teased me with a smile now on his face. I laughed and swatted his hand away from my face.
I hugged him, while looking up at him. I raised my hands to his shoulder and he looked at me confused. "Up," I said childishly as I stood on my tippy toes.
"Oh you want me to carry you," he chuckled and I blushed deeply, realizing what I was doing. "Well, anything for you baby." My stomach bursted with butterflies as he wrapped his arms around my butt, lifting me up onto him.
I rested my head in the crook of his shoulder. I sighed in content as we started getting ready together. It was very important to get to breakfast today because that would be the start of the plotting to meet with the sirens. Though there was a thorn in my side. A very handsome, lovely, brilliant, thorn, that I needed to shake off before meeting with the fishies.

We made it to breakfast in no time at all. Today would be the first time I get to see the people of my castle, though there is only one person I want to see right now. It would normally be two people. Though like always, Weni had disappeared to who knows where.
The guards opened the large door, after bowing to us first. I noticed their worried glances at me. Dragons were very territorial, surprise, surprise, and me being injured and sick meant that the entire kingdom was on high alert. It was a nice feeling, though I didn't like the fact that everyone was high strung.
We walked inside and I instantly saw my victim. He was sitting at the table, looking into his full plate of food, with no expression. I furrowed my brows, what was wrong with Xion? It was my first time seeing him. What could be the matter?
I slowly strolled over, and from behind I placed both my hands on his shoulder. I felt him jump, then turned his head in my direction. I smiled, "good morning!" It felt like I hadn't seen him in forever.
His mouth dropped and then out of nowhere he stood and hugged me. I gasped, then I hugged him back. We stood there for a little while, I didn't want to break the hug because I wasn't the one who hugged first. Sometimes it was better for the person who hugged first to break it on their own time. In this case, Xion needed this hug, and I would give it to him. "How have you been?" I said with a smile on my face. It was so good to see family.
"Better now that I can see that you are alright." He broke the contact and leaned back to look at me. "I need to thank you for saving me. You— you sacrificed your life for me. I—I don't know how to repay you."
I waved a hand to our seats. "First of all," we sat down and Zaivinth put a dish of food in front of me before sitting down next to us. "You don't need to repay me, ever. I did it on my own, and I would do it again." My mate snapped his head over in my direction and growled.

"Okay okay, I won't do it again—" then I made eye contact with Xion and mouthed, 'I would definitely do it again.'
He chuckled and a smile finally gracing his features. I looked down at my plate and smile, Zaivinth put all my favorites on my plate. I reached a hand over to his and gave his hand a squeeze in thanks.
Then I snapped my head back over to Xion. "I hear you are the one who carried me off the battle field." I bowed my head slightly in thanks. "Thank you so much."
"I would do it again," he mimicked my words with a soft smile.
"Oh speaking of the battlefield." I turned my head to Zaivinth. "When can I go—"
"No." His gazed hardened. Alright, he does not like that idea. Well, I certainly wouldn't like that idea either if he was the one in my shoes. Maybe I need to get better and start working out to prove I'm able to go back to war.
"Alright..." I sighed then under my breath I mumbled, "...for now." To my surprise this just earned a growl from Vince. Dragon hearing are truly elite.
We finished breakfast and Zaivinth and I were going to stand when I grabbed Xion's arm before turning to Zaivinth, "I'll see you outside in one minute."
He raised his eyebrows, before settling them. He turned on his heel and started making his way to the door, right before he spoke into my head, what are you plotting mate? Then he left the room entirely.
I'll tell you tomorrow. Certainly not today, I almost chuckled aloud at the thought.
"What do you need, Sheila?" I snapped my attention to Xion who had a smug look on his face. I almost let out a sigh, I was glad that Xiom was back to his normal self. "What? Your relationship is on the rocks?" I went from love to hate in less than a second.
"No! Our relationship is not on the rocks!" I scolded quietly, raising a fist.
"Oh? Then why are you sneaking around behind Vince's back." He smiled and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Thats what I need to discuss with you." My face going serious. It seemed to be contagious because I saw Xion's face go serious as well. "Today I'm going to the sirens. I, against my will, made a deal with them."
"You made a deal with sirens." He gave me a hard look and I nodded before looking at my feet.
"I didn't mean to, they just gave me something I didn't even want and said I needed to pay them back for it." I sighed, it was my first deal ever, I didn't know what to do.
"First of all, get something you want out of a deal. When you go to see them next, ask for the soul stone. It allows you communicate with anyone at any time, when holding the stone. The last I remember, the stone ended up in the sirens hands."
"What if they don't agree?"
"What?" He had a puzzled look on his face. "Then don't give them what they want." He laughed and clapped a hand on my shoulder. "Now you are going to tell me how Zaivinth doesn't know about any of this." My eyes went wide and I nodded my head a bit ashamed of myself.
He looked at the large clock on the side of the mess hall. "I will call him down to the mess hall at seven for an hour and half, will that give you enough time?"
I smiled and gave him a huge hug. "Yes! That would be perfect! Thank you so much!"
"Though on Zaivinth's behalf, you should bring someone..." he looked around the mess hall looking for someone, then out of nowhere.
"Bring me." A voice behind us said. I turned on my heels to see a familiar red head. She was the woman who gave me the shield. The shield that was up in my room.
"I will get you to and from the sirens safely."
