So strange.

I thought Li Han likes carrying me. Now, seeing him embracing another woman.. caring for another woman, I found it somewhat strange.

I wanted to come near her. Suxin must've been scared.

"General Ming, bring the wàngfêi to the carriage! Take her to the Taiji Palace." I let out a puff of breath. "Protect her with everything you have!"

"Yes, Your Highness!"

I used up all of my limited powers of self-control to stop myself.

When we reached the Yonghe Palace, the imperial physicians was already there. An hour later, the physician said: "The bleeding stopped. Your Highness, be at ease. Thanks to you, the lady is safe. We treated her in time. Lady Chu is now out of danger."

Chu Wanwan coughed a bit then she thanked the physician.

General Rong saluted with a battered person in tow, "Congratulations, Your Highness. Our troops are gradually gaining the upper hand against the rebels."

"Your Highness, the faction of the Duke of Hebei in the Southern Palace was defeated. We are now holding hundreds of the rebels who surrendered."

The room fell silent.

From the bed, Chu Wanwan looked at my direction. "Your Highness."

I drew my sword. For some time, I stared at the glint of light on the blade. I switched the sword to the other hand and said: "The rebels."

With a sword dripping in blood, I glanced at Wanwan."Kill! And those who spout nonsense, kill them all!"

"Yes." Came a quick reply.

I touched my face, now marred by wet blood. I licked my lips and ordered, "Go to Taiji Palace."

There was a look of horror on her face. Wanwan's eyes shook. Face stiffed, she watched me carelessly tossed the sword to the headless body on the floor. *.

Darkness and blood.

I inhaled a deep breath, the familiar scent of death assailing my nose. My eyes lingered to my hand. I clenched it tightly.

'This feeling again.. The feeling of needing to touch her. To hold her.'

I clicked my tongue in annoyance. 'Whenever I think of you, why do I have this anxious feeling in my chest? Hah. Bai Suxin.'

'I must go to you now before I.. completely lose it.'

"Yes."

"Your Highness, don't go. You can't go." Wanwan cried out.

My steps halted.

"You followed me because I once saved your life. Now that you also saved mine, we're quits."

I gritted my teeth, hating the fact that I'm wasting my time here. "This is what we owe each other and.. also the end."
