pov:

I felt her hand move slowly under mine as she stirred in her sleep , I looked at her face eagerly to see her opening her eyes

"Hey , how are you feeling ?" i asked her as i stood beside her bed and caressed he face gently

"Where am I ? what happened ?" scarlet asked confused as she tried to get up and started to remove the oxygen mask off

"Don't try to get up , don't move baby , stay still " I pushed her down gently while removing her hand from the mask

"what happened ? "

"you fainted in the park *principessa " she looked at me with a bit of a shock as she registered what I said

"Noah??"

"he is outside with mateo , you scared the shit out of me baby, I was so worried "

"I am sorry to worry you , I don't know what happened , i just..." her eyes started to water as she looked nervous and sacred , i leaned down and kissed her forehead gently trying to ease her worries and mine too , as i was hugging her , I heard a small knock on the door as it opened , I turned around saw mateo holding a crying Noah

" Sorry man , he wouldn't stop crying "

"Baby..." I heard scarlet say as she tried to get up but I was holding her back as I didn't want her to move the wires around her body , Noah jumped from Mateo's hand and came running towards the bed, I helped him get up so he can hug scarlet on the bed , he was really shaken up , he must have been really scared when scarlet fainted in front of him like that , scarlet continued to hug Noah as they both slept on the bed and in a couple of minutes Noah was in deep sleep with tears stain on his tiny face

"how are you feeling scar?" mateo who was sitting at the other side of the bed asked

"i am fine , i just want this mask off please , it feels really uncomfortable with it " i saw her move the mask around her face as she scrunched her nose

"uhm the doctor will be here soon , we will ask her about it " I said as I slowly lifted Noah of the bed and laid him on the couch beside us so he can sleep comfortably , right when I finished talking the door of the room opened and walked in the doctor with a chart in her hand , mateo stood up and stood beside me as the doctor walked to the other side of the bed

"how are you feeling miss?"

"I am fine just a bit light headed , and this mask is bothering me " the doctor started checking the machines beside the bed , and after a second she nodded as she started to remove the mask of off scarlet's face , i waited until she was done so I can finally ask her a couple of questions

"your oxygen level is good , so for now i am gonna remove it but if you feel anything wrong you have to tell me right away " the doctor said as she placed the mask on the hanger beside the bed , after that she took the chart again and looked at me as if she was asking for permission to talk in front of mateo

"do you have the test results?"

"uhm yes I do sir , after looking at all the symptoms and the results of the blood test i believe that miss scarlet has a severe case of 'Anemia ' ," i felt mateo beside me tense up as he walked towards the doctor and took the chart of her hand

"sir, what are you doing..?" the doctor flustered face looked at me as she was asking for help

"he is a doctor , now explain !!" my face tensed up as I saw Mateo's reaction

"uhm... I was told that miss scarlet has been having a loss of appetite and that she has a low body temperature and with the recent fainting and shortness of breath , it just proves that she is anaemic , but I believe that the last case where she got stabbed made her Anemia flare up and worsen as it was left untreated " my face paled as the doctor continued talking , i felt scar hold my hand in hers and tighten her hold on me i looked at her and saw her smiling gently

"so what now?" i asked the doctor seriously while taking a glance at mateo who was still absorbed in scarlet's file

"we will have to see what we can do , the worst case in this situation if the Anemia is not treated it will cause dea..." before she could even finish the sentence i saw mateo throw the file across the room and glare at her

"shut up, don't you even dare finish that word , and you call yourself a doctor you can't even do the basic thing as find the right cure for your patient , it seems like this hospital needs new staff soon " my body was tense and i could feel the cold sweat on my forehead as i imagined what that doctor said happening, i held scarlet's hand tighter not willing to let her go afraid of her disappearing

"mateo ..." I whispered , as I looked at him with desperation in my eyes , all i was thinking was that i can't lose this woman , I can't lose her and Noah can't lose her , we need her

"don't worry Kris , its not as bad as this idiot said , it's 100% treatable , we just need to take the right measures " mateo said as he walked beside me and smiled at me and scarlet

"what do you mean ?"

"Anemia has different stages , the worst kind of Anemia is ' Aplastic . ' this kind is really hard to cure , but the one that scarlet has is only a second stage Anemia, as long as we control it everything will be fine "

"then the doctor ?" scarlet asked mateo with tears in her eyes

"she diagnosed you wrongly , its a common mistake for people who don't deal with anaemia's cases a lot " i felt my body relax as mateo finished talking

"how do you know so much ?" scarlet asked mateo with a bewildered look

"i had my PhD a couple of years back i used to volunteer in countries before i started working with Kris in the company , don't worry about all this and just rest for now , me and Kris are gonna go and get everything ready for you so we can go home" mateo slapped me on the shoulder as he looked at me and smiled after a second both him and the doctor left the room , leaving me with a shocked scarlet , i laughed at her reaction as she watched mateo leave the room , after a second i breathed out a sigh and sat down beside her on the bed

"that was a surprise !" scarlet said as she looked at me with a gentle smile

"uhm , i am just glad your okay ! you should sleep for a while i need to go check on mateo and make sure that everything is alright " she nodded her head as i gave her a tender kiss on her forehead .

after I made sure that scarlet was sleeping soundly and Noah too , i left the room and walked towards the office where i knew i would find mateo , i walked in with out knocking and saw mateo staring at another file while he was sitting on the desk

"your here? did she fall asleep?"

"yeah ! it's been a while since you used this office hasn't ? "

"yeah , after today i am gonna start visiting the hospital more , i can't beleive how bad it had gotten "

"yeah we will work on it! most importantly about scarlet , what now?"

"now we start giving her iron supplements to help her raise her red blood cells , and i already called a friend to get her a special diet to help her too, the only problem would be the symptoms" i took a seat beside him and looked at him with worry in my eyes , which seems to be the only thing i am doing today

"the normal symptoms for Anemia is fatigue, asthma, loss of appetite, and low body temperature, and sadly we can't stop all of them , but we can control them " he stopped talking as he stood up and took a bag out of the box beside him inside the bag was an inhaler and pack of medicine

"the inhaler will be used in case she gets an asthma attach , hopefully with the supplements and in time she won't need it , but it's better be safe than sorry we don't want what happened today to happen again do we ?" I nodded my head as I took the inhaler and the supplements from him

"I need three more !"

"three ? for what ?" mateo said with a frown

" I will take one , scarlet will take the other , and we will leave one in the mansion and the other with Colin , that way we can prevent the asthma at all time that's the most important thing isn't ? " mateo nodded his head as he stared at me , after a couple of seconds he breathed out a sigh as he patted my shoulder twice

"she will be alright man don't worry , you have me with you , don't you ?"

"I do, thanks brother " I smirked at how cheeky he was and patted him back

"no need for you to thank me , she's gonna be my sis-in-law it's normal for me to look out for her "

"don't let her hear you, she well freak out "

"well it's the truth , anyway let's go back , before Noah wakes up , after the iv drops are done we can go home " I nodded my head as I walked out of the office with mateo beside me but this time , I had a determined thought in my mind , that this time after we get home I will tell her ...
