《falling for MR.knight(completed)✔》chapter 7(edited)

"What day ... ?" I asked with a low voice. Me speaking seemed to have an effect on Mr. Knight as he shook his head of whatever it was that he was thinking about. But what surprised me was the expressionless face he gave me in return.
"It's nothing you need to be worried about, Miss Kristof. I thank you again for saving my son's life, now if you will excuse me, I will be leaving now. If you need anything just call and help will come."
I felt bad as I watched Mr. Knight leave the room. I must have crossed some sort of line. I need to be more careful. That was the last thing I thought of before sleep consumed me.
"Miss. Miss Kristof." Who is that? What do they want? I am tired! I want to sleep! "Miss Kristof." I opened my eyes to see a maid standing beside the bed.
"Um, what time is it?" I asked with a slight grogginess in my voice.
"It is seven A.M., miss. Breakfast is ready. The master has asked me to help you get ready and downstairs.
"It's morning already? I can't believe it! I don't remember falling asleep." I looked around then at the girl all with mixed feelings.
"Well, it was really late when you guys returned." The maid bluntly pointed out. "The bath has already been drawn. Allow me to assist you with your wound." I nodded as I sat up and she helped me out of bed. I winced a bit in pain but powered through it. We walked towards the bathroom and I expected her to leave me to my own designs but she stayed holding me upright.
"Um, what are you doing?"
"Master said I must help you. He insisted that you need to be careful and that I need to be around to help you at all times." I smirked at the girl.
"No thanks. You should wait out here. I won't be too long, and please, don't call me 'miss Kristof'. Call me 'Scarlet'." I closed the door and locked it. God the bathroom was super nice. The bathroom was as big as the bedroom! There was a jacuzzi in the middle and a big shower.

I couldn't keep in my ah as I walked towards the mirror. Then I gasped. My hair was a big mess and I was still wearing my clothes from yesterday. I took off my clothes and let them fall onto the tiled floor. I went to the shower and turned it on. It warmed up quickly, which I didn't know showers could do, then hopped in. I washed myself and made sure to be careful with my stitches and bandages. It stung but I pushed through it.
I felt bad for ignoring the bubble bath that the maid had prepared but I guessed that it would have been hard on my wound.
The shower took forever, especially because I was enjoying it way too much, but once I was done, I slipped into a bathrobe then brushed my teeth with the electric toothbrush and expensive toothpaste that was there. Before I could brush out my hair, there was a knock at the door.
"Miss Kristof, are you done yet?" The maid's voice came from behind the door. I walked over to it and opened it. "Miss Kristof, allow me to assist you in addressing your wound." I nodded my head and walked out of the bathroom.
"Clothes?" I asked as I sat on the bed.
The maid walked over to a door in the room and opened it. "This is your closet, Miss Kristof."
"Stop calling me that." I said in an annoyed tone, being called miss all the time made me feel weird . "What's your name?"
"You may call me by Camila, Miss--I mean Scarlet." I smiled at her blushing face.
"Nice to meet you, Camila." I looked at the closet, barely seeing inside of it. "Are we in a hurry?" she reluctantly nodded.
"Please, come inside." She gestured to the closet. I walked over and inside and was done being surprised. There was no closet, but a room full of clothes, shoes, and even accessories.
"What is all this?" I said exasperated.
"The master thought it would be easier to buy you new things instead of fetching your old things. So he called us yesterday and got this all ready for you. Anyway, please put these on so we can address your wound." She handed me a bra and underwear. Surprisingly, they were both my size. I don't even want to know how he found out my size of undergarments and clothing.

Camila had turned to give me privacy and I invited her to turn. She blushed as she looked at me and I chuckled. She was kind of cute.
"L--Let's um ... address the wound then." She pulled the wet bandage off and placed on a new one along with some ointment cream. Once she was done I turned to the clothes in the closet and she caught the uncertain look on my face. "Is something wrong?" She asked.
"That's just a lot of clothes I am not gonna wear."
"What do you mean? Is nothing in there your style?"
"No, that's not it at all. But I will be leaving in a day or two."
"But the master said--" I waved Camila off and grabbed a simple white dress that reached just below the knees. I grabbed simple sandals that Camila helped me put then brushed out my hair.
"Let's go." I said." I want to see Noah."
She led me out of the room and before we could make it to the staircase, two little arms wrapped themselves around my legs. I was startled for a second but looked down at the tiny man hugging me. He had stars in his eyes as he gazed up at me. I awkwardly squatted down to his level and hugged him back.
"Good morning, baby. Sorry I didn't play with you last night." Noah nodded his head with a smile on his face. "Did you eat already?" I asked. He shook his head in response.
"The master and young master have been waiting for you." Claire came up behind Noah.
"Oh, good morning, Claire." I greeted.
"Good morning, Miss Kristof. We should go down now, the master is waiting." Claire assisted me up as I took Noah's hand in mine.
"Scarlet, you should lean on me." Camila said as she took my hand and tried to walk with me down the stairs. Claire nodded her head in agreement.
"Both of you, stop it. Go do something else. Noah will show me the way." I shook the two maids off and Noah nodded his head, never letting that smile slip off his face.
"But Miss--"
"No 'buts', I will be going with Noah and Noah only, and stop calling me 'miss Kristof'. Just call me 'Scarlet'." the boy and I walked away leaving the two women behind. Noah pulled me along. I noticed him acting cautiously with me. He probably guessed I was struggling to move with my stomach and all. As we made our way towards the dining room, I received a few strange looks from the maids. They gave Noah shocked facial expressions as well.
"Did you come down the stairs by yourself?" Mr. Knight stood up from his chair with anger in his eyes. "Where is the maid that is to be with you at all times?" he demanded. I looked him up and down and studied his black suit and tie. His hair was gelled back and God did he look good.
"Um, I sent them away." I answered. "I asked Noah to take me to you instead."
"You shouldn't do that again. You're still hurt. The doctor said you need rest." Mr. Knight came over to me and stopped right in front. He looked down at his son and patted his hair, giving him a good rub on the head. Noah seemed to like it as he smiled up at his father.
"I'm okay, really. I could have actually gone to work today. It's not a big deal, but thank you by the way for the clothes. But, Mr. Knight, that is a really big closet and a lot of clothes. I'm not staying any longer than like a day or two. So I kind of feel bad about you buying all of that."
"Actually, Miss Kristof, that's what I wanted to talk to you about."

The Girl from the Mountain
Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
