《falling for MR.knight(completed)✔》chapter 3(edited)

That same day I asked permission to leave the hospital and go home. If the boy is to stay with me, I don't want him to have to stay here in these white walls and sickly smell. But the doctor turned me down giving me an ultimatum where he called child services if I moved an inch. In the end I asked for another bed and also for Donna to bring my laptop so that the boy had something to entertain him.
"Darling, are you hungry?" I asked him as he sat beside me and watched some animation that I didn't even know while I played with his hair. He lifted his head and with innocent eyes, looked at me and shook his head. "Then do you want me to call Aunt Donna so she can come and pick you up?" He frowned, not liking my suggestion. He snuggled closer to me, refusing to budge. "Darling, she will only take you to buy new clothes and get a bath. That's all. And after, you will come back to me." I patted his hair gently. "Please?"
He looked at me again before nodding his head. But one could easily see how much he disliked the idea, making me chuckle. I took my phone from the stand beside the bed and called Donna. It was 3 PM so she had some time before her shift.
After thirty minutes she came in with a bag in her hand. When she noticed the little man awake, she walked right over to him.
"Hi, baby!" she called out in a cheerful way. "I missed you. Come on, let's get you something to change into." After visiting me with Ben, Donna fell in love with the little boy right away. And thank God he was accepting her, making me feel a bit relieved that he won't be lonely with just me. She took his hand in hers and he hopped onto his feet.

"Thank you, Don. You can take my credit card in my purse. Oh and buy him what he wants."
"No need. It's on me. I would love to dress this cute little munchkin. Darn, I wish we knew his name. ... How long do you plan on calling him 'boy'?" I shrugged my shoulders and looked at the baby who was playing with Donna's phone.
"He has to open up first."
"I am calling him 'little munchkin' for now." Donna squealed and then bent down and kissed one of his cheeks. He didn't react in the slightest. "Well let's go little munchkin." He nodded his head and walked behind donna but right before they left the room, he let go of her hand and came running at me. He lifted his small body onto the bed and kissed me on the cheek. I looked at him shocked only to find him blushing like crazy. I kissed him back and sent him on his way with Donna. I used the time they were away to rest and sleep. I was really worn out.
"Yes! Finally home!" I said in an exaggerated tone. I pulled the cute child in front of me and pushed him into the house. I turned to grab the bag I had plopped on the ground while unlocking the door to my place but I ended up whimpering in pain. The boy must have noticed, for right away, he tried to help and lift the bag. But he ended up falling on his butt. I held in a laugh and instead helped him back to his feet. His eyes were glossy as he looked at the bag with guilt.
I patted his head and kissed his face. "It's okay, baby. I can get it. You go on inside first." After that, I ordered pizza for lunch.

I made sure to call the nursing home and check in on Nanna, who had settled in the care center yesterday. I was quite upset about the fact that I couldn't be with her on her first day there, but Jenna reassured me that she had stayed with her until she fell asleep. So I felt a little better. But I still promised myself to visit her as soon as I felt better.
I looked at the boy and caught him barely able to keep his sleepy eyes open as he sat down on the sofa to watch TV.
"Do you want to take a nap, darling?" He looked at me and nodded his head. I smiled as I stood up slowly--my knife wound was still painful for me when it came to fast movement, especially turns. "Come on, let's get you to bed, love." After I tucked him into my bed, he stopped me from turning by grabbing hold onto some of my clothes. He outstretched his hand which held a crumpled piece of paper. I took it from his grasp and smiled as I realized it was a drawing of him and me with our names above our heads. "Noah. Is that your name, baby?" He nodded with a soft smile before he turned over and drifted off to sleep.
I kissed his forehead before leaving the room. I took out my phone closing the door gentle and dialed detective Charles number. But the longer I stared at his punched-in-number, the more I was convincing myself not to call him. After ten minutes of attleing with myself about whether I should call or not, I decided to do the right thing. What if Noah's mother is worried sick about him and looking for him.
"Hello?"
"Hi, detective, It's Scarlet Kristof." I sat down on the couch and placed a pillow in my lap.
"Oh, yes, Scarlet. Is something wrong?"
"Actually, the little guy has told me his name. Well, he wrote his name for me, it's Noah ."
"Oh, that's good. It's progress. What about a last name? Any luck?"
"No, I am sorry sir ... "
"It's okay, I will see what I can do. I will call you later if we have any news with this new information."
"Thank you, sir. Goodbye." I hung up and sighed. I looked at the time and it was already five PM. I decided to go and have a little nao myself with little Noah. I hoped that I could enjoy every second with him before his parents came to collect him.

8 98The Periplus of Hanno
Considered to be Ancient Carthage’s Odyssey, the original Periplus of Hanno was copied from a Carthaginian temple and taken back to Greece. For two thousand years, it existed only as a copy of a copy, a brief, broken story that only hinted at a larger tale… until now. Hanno, King of Carthage, has just lost his queen, and the Council of Elders threatens to take his throne. In order to preserve his dynasty, Hanno must take the Libyan citizens of over-crowded Carthage on a journey West, beyond the fabled Pillars of Hercules, and to the uncharted African continent below. There, he will encounter terrible beasts, hidden magic, and legendary titans. But the Council of Elders refuses to just let him succeed, and threatens to unite with the powerful forces of this unknown land, and halt the Periplus of Hanno.
8 122A Wish Fulfilled
The die is cast and omnipotent beings bow to the result. The world holds still in anticipation of a new actor. A man shall be ripped from his safe reality and cast upon new tapestry, familiar yet alien. His body will be reforged in flames of adversity. His mind, challenged, by crashing waves of doubt. And his soul will dance, to the amusement of those who observe. “Welcome, castaway, to the new world. Partake in its bounties and revel in its beauty, but be mindful of dangers. Your will is unbound and trials aplenty. The wish carried you here and you will define yourself anew. Live, as you see fit. Now, that the contract is fulfilled, it’s time. We shall not meet again, nor will you remember me. Farewell.” A falling star lights the skies and the die continues to roll. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
