《Moonlight ✔︎》Chapter 60

Daisy had passed out shortly after her conversation with Francis, exhausted both mentally and physically.

Francis stayed with her since he didn't want her to be hurt any further.

Although he would have to leave eventually, his sister would want him up there when they arrived.

Even though her heart was as hard as stone, she had some sort of feelings for her brother, her only remaining family, and his only remaining family was her.

So, as much as he despised it, he had no choice but to leave her and return to his sister.

Daisy slept through the entire day yesterday and awakened early this morning.

She could see the sun slowly rising, indicating that it was around six a.m.

She sat up from the cold floor and gazed out the window watching the sunrise in silence.

Her brown eyes turned caramel as they glistened in the sunlight, and she could feel hope that morning, knowing Angel would be coming to save her.

Though she prayed nobody would be harmed, she knew he was smart, smarter than anyone she'd ever met. So she hoped he had a plan.

Her thoughts then wandered to today's date, May 19th, the day her parents died.

Her sadness deepened when she realised her parents had died on this very day.

She wished she could be with Tyson, visiting their graves like they did every year. She and Tyson had a tradition of bringing Daisies to their graves, as both Tyson's father and Daisy's father had come up with Daisy's name.

Every year, the two cousins would bring Daisies to their graves, sit with them, and speak about all the wonderful things they'd achieved over the year, as well as memories from their childhood.

Daisy watched the sun rise into the sky with a saddened smile, knowing that tradition would be broken today.

As the minutes passed, they became into hours. Daisy had not received any visitors all day, which she appreciated, as she didn't want any more blows to the face or hair yanks.

She had seen the peaceful light go behind the approaching nearly black clouds.

It was late in the evening, and she was still waiting for her Angel.

Daisy listened to the mild sound of rain begin to fall upon the earth; the rain was soothing to her, even though it had only darkened the gloomy day.

Her stomach grumbled as she laid her head against the wall, but she ignored it.

Daisy was startled when the sound of the staircase door crashing open, jolting her out of the daze she was in.

She had hoped it was Francis who was passing by, but it wasn't.

She rose up and backed away from Michael as he proceeded down the stairs with an ugly smile on his lips.

"Boyfriends here, let's go, princess." He says this while grabbing Daisy by the arm and making her wince from the tight grip.

Michael grabbed both of her hands and tightly tied them, then did the same with her feet.

As he hauled her up the stairs, her heart pounded in her chest.

Angel was here?

Daisy was stumbling all over the place with her tied feet and him dragging her brutally up the stairs.

Daisy gazed around the house she was in as they emerged from the creepy cellar where she had been held captive for nearly four days.

It was strangely empty, with no furniture in sight and only a few men dressed in black with masks covering half their faces and guns strapped to their sides.

Daisy could hear the rain outside, which seemed like it was pouring severely now, and she could also hear loud conversations beyond the house's walls.

Michael led them through the empty house until he came to a halt in front of a door when he turned around to face Daisy.

He gripped her forearm and yanked her back in front of him.

He just returned her stare with a smirk before unlocking the door behind her and swinging it wide open.

As Michael forced her outside, rain fell from the sky and directly onto their bodies.

Daisy's eyes adjusted to the unexpected light; even though the sky was gloomy with rain clouds, the natural light still influenced her vision.

Michael carried her somewhere, and now that she had regained her vision, she took a glance around.

It appeared to be an empty parking lot with nothing but trees surrounding it, but she soon noticed the unending black and silver cars spread over the area.

"Daisy!" Someone yelled from afar.

Her head snapped in that direction, and her heart melted with relief as she saw who was in front of her.

Lycian was taken aback when he looked at Daisy, as he was the one who had yelled her name. Daisy gave him a warm smile as tears streamed down her cheeks, mixing with the rain. Her gaze then shifted to the other boys besides him, who held guns in their hands and stared at her with concern.

As he gazed at her wounded face and shattered form, Drake, who had never felt anything for her, felt a wave of rage wash over him. He'd always thought of her as the annoying little sister he'd never had, but seeing her now made his hardened heart quiver.

Elio gazed at the girl with mournful eyes; he'd never seen her that distraught before, although she still smiled as she peered at them relieved.

Tyson stood beside them, his cousin, his best friend, in his sight. His heart ached so badly that he could physically feel his hands trembling. His daffodil had been beaten, bloodied, and tied as if it were a wild animal. Like the others, his heart bled as he watched her eyes meet his and she smiled when she spotted her best friend.

Daisy's lips mouthed the words 'I love you' to Tyson from over the barrier, and Tyson smiled back. As he muttered the same words back to her, a silent tear streamed down Tyson's cheek.

Daisy shifted her gaze away from Tyson and searched for Angel. The one person she had been longing to see, feel, and be with.

And then, as if the world had stopped before them, her tired eyes locked onto his grey, blue ones.

Angel's breath caught in his throat, Daisy's heart clenched, the two had finally gotten to see each other, after hours, days of waiting, they had finally returned home.

Daisy flashed him a bright smile as tears streamed down her pale damaged cheeks; she had gotten her Angel back.

Angel noticed how broken she appeared, how her delicate figure, which he compared to a delicate flower, was tied and scarred.

Angel realised at that moment that he wasn't going to kill his enemies. Instead, he was going to take them and torture them for months before putting them to an even more painful death.

Daisy was forced to turn away from Angel as Michael pushed her to the ground, her injured face burning as it hit the wet, hard concrete.

Angel felt like he was going to burst as he watched this. He took his gun's safety off and began walking over to her shaking body, but he was stopped by someone's hand.

Carlos turned to face his enraged son.

"Angel, be smart, look." He says this while pointing to all of the guns aimed at Daisy.

Angel stepped back, his jaw clenched firmly.

Delilah stared at the enraged men, fighting the urge to laugh at their furious expressions over a silly girl.

She stepped forward, her hands clasped together, her steps advancing to the line separating the two rivals.

She gazed up at all the men as she approached it, a sinister grimace spreading over her features.

As she stood before him, Carlos took a step closer, the bomb ticking inside him.

"Hand her over, Delilah." Carlos says coldly.

Delilah raised her eyes to him, and a full amused laugh came from her lips.

Even Carlo's men looked at her as if she were insane as they watched the maniac in front of them.

"Now, Carlos, it's not that simple." She says, sobering up.

Carlos stared at her coldly, his searing gaze piercing her brainless head with imagined bullets.

"What do you want?" He demands.

"I'd like you to surrender your Mafia to us." She says confidently.

It was now Carlo's turn to laugh, he chuckled at the foolish woman in front of him.

She was definitely out of her mind, he thought.

"That's not going to happen, sweetie. Now, hand over the girl, or everyone will die." He says this while dragging his gun over the crowd behind her.

Delilah's amusement faded; she hadn't expected him to decline so quickly, and she certainly didn't expect him to give up the girl so readily.

"Well, your son's little girlfriend here will die a very painful death to the head if you don't reconsider." She says as Michael approached Daisy and placed his large gun to the side of her head.

Daisy's eyes widened as the gun was placed to her head, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Isn't that guy supposed to be dead?" As he glances at Michael, Lycian asks no one in particular.

"Yeah, Angel sent some men to kill him..." Elio responds to him.

"Well, he ain't dead, is he?" Lycian declares.

Drake scoffs at their banter as he prepares to fire his weapon.

Daisy had managed to slide her wrists from under the bound rope due to the rain, and then discreetly untied her feet as everyone seemed to be distracted.

Daisy hadn't expected him to give up his Mafia simply for her, and she didn't want him to do it for her either. If he did, she'd understand, and she'd forgive him if he gave her up for his Mafia.

Carlos, on the other hand, didn't have it in him to do it. After months of loathing her for making his son weak, his cruel heart had begun to accept the girl, and he, like everyone else, had fallen under her spell.

Carlos gazed at the maniac in front of him, then carefully moved his hand behind his back, lifted his two fingers forwards, signalling everyone behind him to pay attention.

With just two taps of his fingers, the safety's were turned off and bullets flew out from behind him, immediately pointing to the army of men behind Delilah.

Daisy reached for the gun pointing at her head and swiftly twisted around so it wasn't pointed at her since Michael had been caught off guard by the sudden commotion.

Michael's finger automatically pulled against the trigger as bullets began to shoot out of it, although it wasn't directed towards Daisy.

Daisy leapt to her feet and pointed the gun at Michael, who dodged the bullet and released the grip of the gun.

Michael stumbled back as he snarled at Daisy, steadying himself and lunging forwards at her. Daisy threw her leg out as she shoved him back with her foot.

Daisy had taken the rifle and pointed it at him, and his footsteps came to a halt as his eyes widened.

"You wouldn't." He says, he was challenging her because he was confident enough she wouldn't shoot him.

Daisy smirked at his lack of judgment.

"I would." She says, and then she pulls the trigger.

Michael flinched his eyes shut, expecting the bullet to hit him, though he felt nothing.

His eyes opened as he looked at Daisy, her eyes expanded as she continued to pull the trigger, but nothing came out.

Michael smirked and straightened himself as he walked towards her, ready to destroy the bítch.

He'd been thrown back by a blow to the face just as he was about to act.

Angel stepped in front of him, knocking him to the ground while flinging fists at the boy beneath him.

Angel's rage was unrelenting; he knew Michael was the one who had damaged Daisy's face, so he took caution not to kill the boy but to cause him severe suffering.

Michael had not fought back since Angel's blows were too powerful for him to even hit back, blood had been drawn from his mouth and nose, dripping down his face and onto the concrete before being rinsed away by the rain.

Angel paused his attacks and motioned for one of his men to remove him.

"Send him over to the warehouse, tie him up, and keep an eye on him." Angel commands.

The man nods and reaches out to take the boy who had clearly passed out.

When Angel rose up and turned around, he saw Daisy battling off another man who had attempted to shoot her.

Daisy exhaled gratefully when Angel reached over and yanked him away from her. Her damaged knuckles had begun to give way.

Daisy stood there watching as Angel attacked the huge man, knocking him to the ground despite the fact that he was the size of the Hulk.

Angel was too preoccupied with beating the man beneath him to notice the gun levelled directly at him by one of Delilah's men.

Thankfully Daisy had caught onto it, Daisy frantically searched around her for something and luckily she had found a gun.

Thinking back to the last time, she had merely hoped for it to be loaded.

Daisy snatched the gun and jerked the safety off just as the man was about to pull the trigger.

Daisy had beaten him to it, pulling her own trigger and killing the man.

As his massive body dropped to the ground, his gun fell out of his hand, blood pooling in his stomach and dripping into the pavement, mixing with the rainwater.

Angel had realised this while as he had just knocked the man beneath him out cold.

Angel rose to his feet, spun around, and faced his moonlight.

Her eyes glistened with tears as she glanced at him, the two disregarded the violence that was going on around them as Daisy wasted no time and ran towards him, jumping into his open arms.

Angel wrapped his arms around her and drew her soaked body to his. With her in his arms, he felt as if he could protect her from the rest of the world.

Daisy's hands were clutched behind him on his wet shirt, her head buried in his neck as he kissed her lightly all over her hair.

"I missed you so fùcking much, Daisy." He whispers.

"I missed you too, Angel." She says this while putting her palm on his cheek and gazing at him in the eyes.

Then her lips collided against his, their lips yearning for each other's touch and presence.

As the rain poured down on them, they drew back, their foreheads resting against each other, their breaths heavy.

Someone screamed for Daisy behind Angel, drawing both of their attention to the voice.

Daisy frowned and took a step back, looking behind Angel.

As he waved stupidly at her, her eyes met Lycian's, and she chuckled as he beamed at her.

Daisy gazed around the area, where bodies were lifeless on the ground; it was a bloodbath, though it appeared that all of the dead were Delilah's men.

Her heart thumped as she searched for Tyson, anxiously hoping he was okay.

Angel gazed down at her, confused, as she clutched his arm.

"Where's Tyson?" She asks, her voice laced with worry.

Angel looked around, his height helping him search for her cousin.

Though before Angel could spot him, Daisy did.

Daisy noticed her cousin, Tyson, who had his gun pointed at Delilah's head. Despite Delilah's cries for him not to fire, he showed no mercy, pulling the safety off his gun.

Although Daisy was the only one who noticed the person behind Tyson, Francis was holding a handgun and shakily pointing it at Tyson.

Daisy felt the world around her come to a halt as she sprinted towards Tyson.

"Tyson!" She screamed, tears streaming down her face and her body trembling as she rushed towards her cousin.

He turned his head to face her, but the finger curled around the trigger had been pulled immediately as he did.

Daisy came to a halt as she saw her cousin collapse to the ground, the bullet piercing into Tyson's heart.

She was too late.

Daisy stood there watching her cousin, best friend, and her last remaining family die at her feet.

She ran up to him, her heart had stopped beating as she kneeled down to his dying form.

"No, no, no," She whispers anxiously, shaking her head. Her wet hands go over his heavily bleeding chest.

Tyson glanced up at her, knowing he wouldn't make it through this. He knew it was his time to go, he had done his job of protecting her, now it was Angel's time.

Tyson learnt a lot throughout his time here, including the importance of never letting someone you care about, go. As a result, he fought for his daffodil during her darkest hours, making it his own duty to keep her happy. And now he'd accomplished his purpose; he'd completed his duty.

"Daffodil." He croaks out, looking at the damaged girl in front of him.

She glanced at him, her eyes red and her face empty as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"Shut up Tyson, you're going to be fine." Her voice cracks with each word she says.

"Daisy." He stated emphatically.

That drew her attention to him; he only called her Daisy when she was in trouble or if he needed to tell her something important.

He smiled at her as he moved his palm to her cheek, despite the discomfort he was in.

"I promise everything will be fine." He promises, glancing at his cousin.

Daisy sobbed as she realised he was truly going to leave her.

"Please, Tyson, you can't..." She says this as she clutches his hand, her eyes pleading.

"I love you, Daffodil, don't forget it." He murmurs this as he closes his eyes and feels his body starting to shut down.

Daisy shook violently as she watched him close his eyes.

"No, no," Her voice comes out in quiet whispers.

"Angel!" As she grasped Tyson's body, she yelled desperately, her sobs taking over her body.

"I love you, Tyson." As he slipped away from the earth, she whispered back, and a small smile crept onto his lips.

Angel approached Daisy from behind, kneeling beside her and pulling Daisy into his arms.

The girl sobbed into his arms, her hands urgently gripping Angel's shirt while her gaze remained fixed on Tyson.

The world stopped spinning as Tyson took his last breath of air, and his soul drifted into peace.
