《Moonlight ✔︎》Chapter 50

I held onto Angel tightly as he strode to his car.

"Angel." I call out softly.

He ignores me and opens the passenger door, putting me in, then closing the door on my side.

Angel arrived at his side and climbed into his car, which he started and sat back, clearly trying to ease up.

"What about the plan, Angel?" I remind him.

He clenches his jaw and runs a hand through his hair, something he did when he was angry or agitated.

"Fùck the plan Daisy, I'm not fùcking around if this coglione is going to hurt you." He says harshly.

Translation; Fùcker

I wince at his harsh tone and lay back in my seat, my head throbbing from the anxiety.

Angel then sped out of the parking lot.

I sighed and reached for my phone, telling Tyson that he didn't need to pick me up from school today.

We drove for a bit, the silence in the car was deafening, but I ignored it and continued to watch the vehicles we passed by, which oddly helped to calm me down.

Finally, we arrived at the familiar mansion, the empire.

Angel's car roared as he came to a halt in front of the guarded front doors.

Angel swiftly exited his side and circled back to mine.

I walked ahead of him up the stairwell after he opened the door for me.

As we approached the main doors, I felt him close behind me.

Recognising me, the guards moved to the side and opened the doors for me.

Before we could enter the home, Angel had shoved me up against the wall.

A little squeal left my lips as he caged me in between his arms, surprising me with his sudden action.

As the wind swept past us, his cologne hit my nostrils, and he peered down at me with cold eyes.

"I'm sorry, moonlight," He says unexpectedly, surprising me once more.

His gaze remained fixed on mine, and I averted my gaze, unable to bear the intensity of his stare.

"It's fine, Angel." I whisper to him.

He firmly gripped my chin with his thumb and index finger, lifting my head to face him.

My gaze meets his, the blue and grey of his eyes piercing my own.

As the hand on my chin tilts my head even more towards his face, he inches in closer to my lips, lingering above them.

"I don't want to hurt you." His eyes move from my lips to my eyes as he murmurs against my lips.

I give him a shake of my head and place my palm over the one that is holding my chin.

"You won't, Angel." I whisper, my tone solemn with assurance.

His face was expressionless, though the little furrow between his two brows told me he wasn't sure.

I place my lips on the corner of his mouth before moving them to his ear.

"I know you won't." I tell him assuredly.

I lean back and stare into his cold eyes.

He shakes his head and leans away from me, running a hand through his hair.

"Sarai la mia morte, chiaro di luna." Angel mutters and grabs me by the waist.

Translation; You'll be the death of me, moonlight.

His hand wraps around mine, entwining them and guiding me through the house.

We make it up the staircase after walking through the home.

Angel took us to the regular meeting room and opened the door for me first.

When I walked in, I was surprised to see all of the boys from earlier in the day.

Drake, Elio, and Lycian were all sitting quietly speaking with one another.

The door behind me locked shut as Angel came beside me, making everyone's attention fall on us.

Lycian grinned at me and waved.

"Hey, Sugar." He exclaimed.

I giggled and greeted him back, taking a seat next to Elio.

Angel sat across from me, the boys had stopped talking and focused intently on Angel.

"The Slavic's have threatened Daisy." He announces.

Everyone in the room appeared tense, and everyone's ears and eyes were on Angel.

Angel exerted immense domination and power over him, commanding everyone's attention without even asking.

Angel then began to explain what had been happening, which made Lycian visibly furious, while the other two remained expressionless.

"What do you have planned?" Elio asks Angel.

Angel's gaze shifts to me.

"I'll give you the money, you'll meet him at the park, and I'll deal with the rest involving my men." Angel tells me.

"The leader of the Slavic's would have planned to bring her own men to surround the place, but the leader would have refused to come since she's never revealed her face." Lycian explains.

"She?" I question.

"Yeah, all we know is that it's a woman. And I'll give her that, she's good at hiding." Lycian declares.

"Are you going to mention this to your dad? Since it's involving the Slavic's." Drake asks Angel nonchalantly.

Angel gives a single nod and returns his gaze to me, silently observing me.

"I'll let him know tonight. I'm not going to leave her alone, so we'll have to make a plan." Angel states this without allowing for any debate.

Others nod and think quietly to themselves.

They all keep talking about the 'gang' and coming up with ideas, all of which involve me being out of the picture.

Angel eventually dismisses them.

"You're staying with me until Wednesday." Once everyone had left, Angel informed me.

"What about Tyson?" I ask him.

"Already told him, he'll be fine." Angel assures me.

I nod and lean back in my chair, my gaze fixed on the ceiling.

I sensed his presence near me but didn't react.

"You okay?" Angel asks from beside me.

I smile and tilt my head to face him, opening my arms for a hug.

Rather than hugging me like a normal person, he decided to raise me from the chair and place me on the table, narrowing our height gap somewhat.

He leant in close to me, one hand on the table next to me, the other on my cheek.

He knelt and pecked my lips, making me blush.

"Can we go to the library?" I ask him as he brushes his thumb across my cheekbone

He responds with a hum, and then, to my surprise, he lifts me and carries me bridal style towards the doors.

"Angel, you know I can walk, right?" I tell him.

"I'm aware." He says rolling his eyes.

I scoff and put my head against his chest, smiling inwardly at his unexpected actions.

He walked us inside the magnificent library with which I have fallen in love. As he turned on the lights, my eyes brightened up, the chandelier shone brightly, illuminating all of the books.

Angel lowered me on the ground, allowing me to go find a book.

My legs carried themselves as I set out on my search for what I wanted.

I browsed through the rows of books until I came across one that sparked my interest.

Holding the hardback in my hands, I turned around and walked back over to Angel, who was now seated on a lounge.

I sat beside him and rested my head on his lap.

As I began to read aloud to him, his hand reached for my hair and stroked his fingers through it, relaxing me.

This was something I admired about him, and it was something he did with me that I loved. He would always actually listen to me, which motivated me to talk.

I used to get told off because I talked too much when I was younger. As a result, it had made me feel insecure about it.

I didn't feel that way with Angel; instead, I felt as if I could go on and on about my continuous rambling and he wouldn't judge me.

For the short hours that passed, it felt as if it was only him and me, the darkness outside reminding me of the time, and I had decided to finish the chapter I was on.

I laid the book down on my chest and closed my eyes, feeling compelled to sleep.

"Don't sleep yet, you need to eat." Angel tells me quietly.

I hum softly already feeling myself doze off.

Suddenly, wet lips brush against my neck, causing my eyes to open wide.

When he realised this, he chuckled against my neck, the vibration of the deep noise causing my belly to knot in butterflies.

I shake my head at his attempt to get me to get up, which was successful.

Angel stands up and extends his large hand towards me, which I accept.

We exit the memorising library together and proceed down the long staircase.

We pass the few groups of males who stood around the room once we get down the stairs.

Angel had been stopped by a man on our way out, and the man began speaking in Italian.

I disregarded it and let my gaze wander around the room.

I noticed Tyson among the males in the room and waved at him, hoping to gain his attention. Fortunately, he turned his head to me and grinned as he walked over to me.

"Hi, daffodil." He greets.

I smile at him and give him a quick side hug.

"Be safe, yeah?" He says frowning, looking over me thoroughly.

"I will, I'm with Angel anyways." I remind him.

He nods and sighs looking down at his shoes.

"I'm taking Miya out tomorrow." He informs me.

I clap my hands excitedly and lift my hand for a high five.

He smirks and clasps his hand with mine.

"Finally! I'm proud of you." I tell him.

He ruffles my hair and I slap his hand away.

"I've gotta go, I'll see you tomorrow?"

"For sure." I tell him holding my thumbs up.

He gives me one more smile before walking back over to the men.

I turn back around to Angel seeing the man had now just finished talking to him.

I wrap my arm around Angel's and he brings his attention to me, a small smirk resting on his lips.

We start walking out of the doors and down towards his car.

After settling into the car Angel drove out of the gates heading straight for the freeway.

"Where are we going?" I ask, turning my attention to him.

He smirks and turns a left corner.

"Downtown."
