《Moonlight ✔︎》Chapter 39

Daisy's breaths settled into a soothing rhythm as she slept soundly.
I sighed quietly as I realised I'd have to leave her.
My father was insistent about not wanting me to be near her. He was well aware of what she was doing to me; it wasn't so much that she was changing me as it was that my thoughts had become preoccupied with keeping her safe 24/7.
When it came to protecting her, I didn't give a damn about the Mafia, my family, or my friends; she was the only thing on my mind.
I wasn't stupid; I knew I was somewhat falling in love with her.
Never in my lifetime did I imagine myself loving or feeling anything other than rage.
I was known for my anger, and I had to remain away from Daisy when the bomb inside me ticks off.
God knows what I'll do.
I cautiously pulled my arms from her, but this only made her clutch my hand even tighter.
I exhaled contently and took the nearest plush bear in my palm, slowly replacing it.
She snuggled back into it and returned to her usual calm slumber.
I quickly wrapped the blankets around her and walked out of the house.
I looked at my watch and noticed that I had 15 minutes left.
I stepped into my car and started it up.
Before driving away, I placed my gun on the passenger seat and sat back in my seat.
I shut off the engine and grabbed my gun once I arrived at my destination.
I stepped out of the car, ran my hand through my hair, and walked over to the rundown home.
The front doors had been already opened, making my job a lot easier.
My eyes were used to the dark it allowed me to see slightly better as I moved into the pitch-black house.

My movements were heavy and slow, allowing my victim to notice my unexpected arrival.
I chuckled darkly as I took a seat at the kitchen counter after hearing movement from the door to my right.
The property was a disaster. Empty liquor bottles, ashtrays, and smouldering cigars cluttered the floor.
Along with Marijuana bags stacked on the counter next to me.
I rolled my eyes at the waste of money she had spent.
Her footsteps could be heard as they exited the door in front of me.
Her eyes were anxiously searching for me, so I reached over to the wall beside me and turned on the light.
Only a small amount of light was enticing as the light flickered on.
As her gaze fell on mine, she gasped and stepped back.
As she stumbled back into the wall, I smirked darkly and cocked my head.
"Angel..." She gasped out.
"Julia." I greet back.
My fingers twitched as the gun in my hand begged for the trigger to blow off.
She had the audacity to run after already inflaming my fury.
I rolled my eyes as she tripped over her own bag of pot on the floor.
I got up from the counter and moved over to her; she hadn't gotten up from the floor yet, so I could get to her faster.
Her hands furiously searched behind her for something, eventually catching a shard of broken glass and holding it in front of her.
I simply kneeled in front of her, and as she looked at me, her eyes welled up with tears.
"Please, Angel." She whispers.
"Don't do this to me, I have a whole life ahead of me."
"Yet you choose to waste your perfectly good life by stealing from our mafia."
"I-I can repay you; I swear I'll be able to cover all of the shipments." Her bloodshot eyes stare into mine as she exclaims urgently.

Her hand reaches onto my arm and seductively runs it up and down.
As my fury grew, I tightened my jaw.
I snatched her wrist and yanked her hand away from me.
She bit her lip nervously as silent tears escaped her eyes.
"You didn't think I would find out, Julia." I whispered taking my hand to her cheek.
Her eyes opened as she realised what I was talking about and glanced at me.
"Julia, I've got ears and eyes everywhere, and as soon as I heard that you'd put my girl on the radar and had gotten someone to drug her, I figured it was time."
I lean my head to the side and delicately grip her chin.
"You should've known you'd be absolutely screwed this time." I tell her darkly.
I removed my gun's safety and cocked it to her temple.
She sobbed uncontrollably and gave me a cold stare.
"She's just a whòre, she was practically asking to be on the radar." She sneered.
This infuriated me even more, and I could feel the bomb ticking away in my head.
I put the revolver to her leg and fired a shot.
Her legs were pooling blood as she screamed in distress.
My face had hardened and became cold.
"A whòre was it?"
"I don't think calling her a whòre is necessary coming from yourself." I say darkly.
Her screams grew louder as she clutched her leg tighter.
"You sleaze around with my men, and yet you still got another chance."
With teary eyes, she glared at me.
"After that, you came begging for me to fùck you."
I glance at her with a sinister chuckle and then shot her in the other leg
"Pathetic," I say.
With amusement, my heartless self observed her weak condition.
Her legs were no longer useful to her, as she thrashed around helplessly.
"I hope you learned your lesson, Julia," I say and take the gun to her temple.
"Please." She begs loudly.
"Never disrespect her or me, again."
With the last gunshot to her temple, her movements and words came to a halt.
As blood touched her surroundings, her lifeless body laid limp on the floor.
I got back up and strode straight to the front doors, walking over her body.
I sped out of the dimly illuminated street.
I took a cigarette from my pocket and lighted it swiftly.
I inhaled the nicotine and then exhaled it hastily, driving through the empty streets.
When I got back to my place, I sat in silence in the car, tilting my head back on the seat behind me.
My eyes were drawn to the dark sky, I stared blankly at the full moon above me, reminding me of her.
My moonlight.

Jacob is eager to peel back the layers and discover The Brotherhood's secrets, to wield its power, but will he be able to handle the truth that is their reality? Can he step thru that door and never look back? Those are just some questions he will face on his journey of self-discovery. Will Jacob be strong enough to see it thru to the end? Are you? _______________________ ***Content Warning*** This story focuses on gay characters and places them in sexual situations. Although the sexual content is not the story’s main focus, it does appear throughout, especially in the earlier chapters. Feel free to give The Brotherhood a pass if it's not your cup of tea. But if you give it a chance, it might surprise you. The story is not what you expect. I first posted The Brotherhood online in 2001 and finished it in 2013. Over the years, it developed a loyal following that has been waiting for a sequel for many moons. That time has finally come. I want to release a more updated version of TBH before dropping the new chapters for the sequel. I hope you enjoy it!
