《His Replaced bride ✔》23. Misunderstanding

Samaira upped her lashes towards the door on hearing a knock there. She put aside her books to get up. She was not going to college for the last 4 days because of the incident that happened with her. It had created a bad impression for her college - a reputed institution.

So their MD announced a week's holiday for them - so they can return with full vigour. That's why Samaira was writing some study notes, to utilise her time.

In these 4 days, she didn't interact with Abhimaan much. They saw each other, she almost bumped into him last night but composed herself soon. It was her mistake, not Abhimaan's. He did a lot for her. It was her fault to get her hopes high. He didn't tell her to dream about anything.

This was how she was trying to make herself understand.

To hide her pain.

To forget the hurt.

She opened the door only to find herself standing face-to-face with the man whom she had been trying to ignore. The man who saved her, gave her support and comforted her.

And broke her heart a little as well!

Here Abhimaan was standing in his formal wear - wearing a black suit. He was holding his mobile to his ear. He was on a call with somebody.

"Why is he here?"

Samaira frowned looking at him but didn't ask him as he was talking with someone on the phone. Soon he forwarded his cell to her which made her narrow her eyes in confusion.

"Mom wants to talk to you. You didn't call her for the past few days. She is getting worried about you." He said in a go, answering everything she wanted to ask. Hearing Arunima's name her eyes got filled with love. She immediately took the phone from his hand and walked inside.

"Maa, how are you?" She said over the phone and heard Arunima's worried voice.

"How are you beta? I have been trying to call you for the last 5 days! Where is your phone?" Samaira silently heard the list of questions Arunima was throwing at her - one after the other.

"I'm fine Maa. Sorry, I couldn't call you... I... My phone broke... That's why!" She felt her eyes brim with tears thinking about the horrible incident. She didn't get the time to repair her phone after that incident.

Abhimaan too walked inside hearing her quavering voice. She looked up for a brief second to control her tears. She didn't want her to know about her condition. She gulped down the tears, closed her eyes before talking again.

"Don't do this ever again, okay? We were getting so worried here. That's why I called Abhi!" Arunima said in a go.

Samaira felt Abhimaan's intense gaze on her but didn't dare to look up. She knew that she would meltdown the moment she would look at him.

Abhimaan saw how her face lit up while talking to his mother. Indeed they have formed a very special and lovely bond.

"Beta... Is everything good between you two?" She asked her. Her voice was now low and full of concern for her children.

Samaira looked up to Abhimaan, whose eyes were already on her. She licked up dry lips, before replying.

"We... We are fine. Don't worry Maa." She said while looking into his eyes. He felt the sadness in her voice. She was lying to his mother for him. He took a breath in relief.

They talked for some time and disconnected after asking about everyone's well-being. Arunima also reminded her to take care of each other. She hummed in reply and handed over the phone to Abhimaan.

"Sorry... You had to come all the way for this..." Samaira said, returning his phone. Their fingers brushed a little but she immediately withdrew her hand - even before he could realize.

"It's okay, Mom was seriously worried about you and you did well by not telling her anything." He said, appreciating her wisdom. They both didn't want them to get worried. She nodded.

Both stood there for some time. No one said anything. Both were longing for each other in the heart but they had nothing to say.

Abhimaan knew how he did not like whatever was happening between them. He was not liking that formal behaviour they displayed in their earlier days. He wanted to know her, talk to her but...

Everything was complicated.

He sighed in defeat and took some steps back. He turned around to go but her soft angelic voice stopped him in his position.

"Wait..." She said hurriedly. His lips turned into a smile hearing her. He quickly hid his smile and turned to her.

He would finally get to talk to her after 4 days. He composed himself.

She walked to her cupboard and took something out. Then she came in front of him. He watched her moves. She extended her hand towards him - and now he was confused.

"Here... Your card... I... I don't need it." She said while fumbling a little. His confused eyes got wide when he understood the reason behind her words.

"But I gave them to you. Why are you giving it back??" He asked her. A feeling of annoyance had started to occur in his mind.

" I don't need y... your money... and I... also don't need your car or any other privilege." She said keeping her heart strong. She was happy to go back the way she was previously with him.

Nothing to do with anything or each other.

Like he mentioned before.

"And how did you suddenly decide this when we have already talked about it before." He said stepping closer to her, making her more nervous than she was already.

"You have done a huge favour already...." She said. He looked away, closing his eyes to compose his anger.

Why was she being so difficult?

"Look Samaira, I gave all these things because of some valid reasons. So you have to take all this." He said pointing a finger at her. She looked up at him.

"But I can't afford all these and you... You can't force me also..." She said the last part with fear in her heart. She is scared of his changing mode.

"Afford... Are you serious??" He raised his voice this time. He did this for her safety. He didn't do any favour. He wanted her to understand his concern but here she was being all irrational and stubborn.

"Did I ask anything in return that you can't afford all these?" He said holding her arm in his hand and pulling her close to him. She almost collided with his hard chest. She felt bad that he raised his voice.

It was like the time when they had met for the first time. Nothing changed and might never.

Her eyes filled with unshed tears. She tried to come out of his hold but it tightened with Abhimaan realizing her failed attempts.

She looked up with her wet eyes reflecting pain and hurt. His heart ached at the sight. He loosened his hold swiftly. He never wanted to hurt her. Her attempts to get out of his hold was making him angrier.

"Why do you want to stay away from me?"

"I can and I'll force you if it's about your safety. Don't argue on this." He said harshly to her, making her flinch.

He regretted behaving that way but it was important. He couldn't take another risk after what happened.

"D... don't do something which... you... you will regret... later!" She whispered looking at him. Finally, she said the words which she wanted to say. She wanted to complain, scream at him. But she knows... She can't.

His expressions changed a little but soon his rage took over him. He didn't get the meaning behind her words.

"This... is wrong... You...." She stammered. It was getting difficult for her to stand in front of his heated gaze.

"I never said I'm a good man! Listen, I'm a very mad man, Samaira! Do not play with me." He said as if piercing through her soul with his sharp gaze on her.

"I can even cut off your admission any time I want. So, never argue with me." He announced making her eyes go wide. Her whole body went numb hearing this. Her degree, her study was everything. It was the only thing that's left with her.

He didn't think before warning her. He had realized how much her degree meant to her, so he just used it as an innocent bait to stop her from being so stubborn.

Before she could react or express herself, he left her arm and rushed out of the room, closing the door with a thud. She rubbed her arm, crying silently.

He's bad. VERY bad.

"You are heartless, Abhimaan.

You have never understood me and will never."

Abhimaan entered his office building in a very furious mood. He walked towards his office. His staff wished him on his way but he didn't pay any attention to them and went to his cabin. Within 10 minutes the whole floor went silent sensing their boss's furious mood.

Some of the employees had faced his wrath, termination warning. He rejected their presentation also. Now, they were praying for the day to end soon.

Inside his cabin, he threw a file in front of his employees.

"This is how you work here? Do you even realize where you are standing right now?" He screamed at another unfortunate victim of the day.

"Get out!!!" He ordered and the guy left his room at lightning speed.

He was angry. On her and on himself also. Here he was trying to have a simple conversation with her after 4 days of silence.

He exploded on her. She made him angry unnecessarily.

"Why can't she just see my concern for her?"

He was busy in his thoughts when he heard another knock on the door. He closed his eyes in irritation. He didn't want to meet anyone for the rest of the day.

"Get out." He screamed from inside. Despite his denial, he saw a man walking inside.

He rubbed his palm over his face.

More drama ahead!!

"What do you want, Sagar??" He groaned in frustration seeing his partner and friend in his cabin. Sagar was least bothered and sat down in front of him - much to his annoyance. Abhimaan wanted to stay alone for some time but he couldn't even get that.

"Another fight with the wife, Mister!" Sagar laughed watching his friend's state. He saw how his mood changed along with the feelings for his wife since last month. He knew under what circumstances they got married. But he had also witnessed how Abhimaan was changing slowly.

"Don't even ask about it," Abhimaan said, rolling his eyes at him.

"I'm your partner dude, you have to tell me everything. It's in the rules!" Sagar exclaimed.

"You are my partner in business, not in my personal life. So stay away." Abhimaan hissed in frustration. He was in no mood to joke around.

"And may I know why you are here?"

"It's Natasha again? Right?" Abhimaan asked him sternly. Sagar's expression also became serious and he nodded to his friend in reply.

Abhimaan clenched his jaw tightly. He was already not in his right state of mind!

Now, this Natasha!!
