《Property Of Vittore Martinelli ✓》31

I held onto the wheel tightly and as soon as my car was out in the world, bullets were fired on the roof and windshield that held strong. Bullet proof. Nice. I drove to the back of the mansion, getting their attention off where Faye was going to exit from. I heard shouts and five men came from seemingly nowhere, shooting at the car.
I immediately slowed down and made the car come to a stop. The men looked up quizzically and I saw them slowly advancing.
"That's right. Come at me bitches," I said, tightening my hold on the wheel. The men inched closer and as soon as they were in reach, I turned on the lights to full blast and harshly brought my foot down to the gas.
They were still trying to regain their sight and finally registered what was going to happen when the benz knocked into the first three. The other two weren't so lucky as I was shaken in my seat, running over the bodies. I stopped and turned the gear, reversing, the car practically jumping with the dead weight I was running over.
I sat in the car for a few more seconds until I finally saw them. Over ten men appeared from behind the house and that's when I knew I had the lot of them here. Two carried snippers so that entailed there weren't any left if I killed these assholes.
I opened one of the car compartments as a shot rung in the air and one of the car's tires were flattened. I just ignored that and found a gun, making sure it was loaded before I removed the safety. I shifted in my seat, opening the sun roof.
"Surrender or we will open fire!" one of the guys shouted and I snorted. What were they? The cops.
I squatted in the seats, grabbing my other gun and holding the two firmly in my grasp. I lifted my body out of the roof.
"I don't surrender to submissive bitches," I said before I begun to shoot.
Adrenaline was rushing through my veins as I popped in and out of the roof like a jack in the box. Shots were fired, screams were heard and bodies fell to the ground. It wasn't long until I was the lone man- no- the lone woman standing.
"That was eventful," I murmured getting back in the seat, ready to follow after Faye who I was sure was long gone by now.
The car tyre was flat and I was about to get out when I looked to my left and a huge grey jeep was coming straight at me, running over the perfectly mowed lawn, headlights bright and blinding. I quickly sat my ass down and fumbled with the seatbelt before the massive vehicle slammed into the passenger side, sending the benz tumbling over and rolling towards the mansion.

I crashed into the side of the building, a ringing sounding in my ears. The car was upside down and my hair was sweeping on the roof of it. I blinked my eyes open, dizziness consuming me for a second. I sighed, reaching for the gun that was next to me.
I held it in my grasp as the passenger door was ripped open. I closed my eyes and pretended I was unconscious whilst my heart beat wildly in my chest. It was only when and arm was trying to get me out of my seatbelt that I lifted my hand and shot three bullets from the gun blindly. There was a thump and I sighed, blinking my eyes open to see a dead body in the car with me.
I let out a breath, undoing my seatbelt and falling to the roof of the car. I pushed the body aside as I crawled out, laying flat on my back and gazing at the sky.
"Cosa ho fatto per meritarmi questo (What did I do to deserve this)?" I mumbled in Italian. Throwing a hand over my eyes, I decided to just rest here for a hot second and get my bearings. I had a list of things I needed to do.
One, get to Faye. Two, find a place for us to stay until Vittore found us and the only way to do that was if I had cash. I guess I'll just pick pocket people on the way there. Sitting up with a groan, I pulled myself across the grass to one of the many dead bodies. This one just had a hole in the side of this face.
I slowly started pulling off his dark clothes which was honestly a struggle. I tore off my bloody shirt and slipped his on. The shirt had blood on it but it wasn't really visible which was a win for me. I had to get new clothes. I took a deep breath and forced myself on my feet, groaning in pain at each movement to my left leg. Once I was up, I took a deep breath.
Placing my hands on my hips, I fought off the need to faint and started limping forward. I painfully walked my way out of Vittore's estate, passing the gate that looked like it had been knocked open. It made pride surge in my chest because I knew it was Faye who did that.
That woman might not know it but she was as bad as they came.
As I limped down the road, a taxi came by which honestly was very suspicious. It stopped next to me and the window rolled down. It was the older red haired woman from before.
"The Jade Scythe in the flesh. Again," she said casually leaning against the seat, a smile on her face.

"I should be honoured really. You're a legend," I said returning her smile. "The Crimson Raven who took down half a Russian military base all on her own."
"I did didn't I?" the red haired woman boasted and brushed invisible dirt off her shoulder. "Need a ride?"
"Yes please," I said opening the door and getting in the front seat with her. She reached into the back and grabbed a first aid kit, handing it to me. "Thanks."
Opening the kit. I picked out a pair of scissors and cut part of my pants to reveal the wound on the side of my thigh. The Crimson Raven started the car and off we went.
"Have you been in contact with any of the others?" she asked, picking a cigarette from her pocket and lighting it. She took a long drag and blew a puff of smoke in the air.
"Just the Agile Mime," I said remembering the French woman from the elevator on the night I had helped with the heist at The Nova. "What can you tell me?"
"Well, there have been no sightings of Jordan since you were taken out of the safe house," she told me, holding the cigarette between her lips as she made a turn on the road. I was pouring some alcohol on my wound, slightly wincing as I did.
"What about that whole attack back there," I said pointing to the direction of Vittore's mansion. "Know anything about that?"
"No. It seems like there's a new power in play and they are after both Vittore and you," the Crimson Raven informed me.
"Do they know about Jordan?" I asked confused. Very few knew about him. He was basically a ghost. Just word on the streets like me, the Agile Mime and the Crimson Raven.
"No. It seems like you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Know this person?" A picture was thrown on my lap as I was getting the surgical needle and thread out of the first aid kit. I looked down at the picture of a scrawny guy. What stood out were his pale chapped lips.
"Yeah I know him," I said remembering our encounter in the subway when I had run away from Vittore the first time. I begun stitching up my wound as the Crimson Raven begun to talk.
"Well he and some unidentified female were found dead this morning. The skin at the back of his neck was peeled off and his body looked like he'd spent the night fighting with lions," she said.
"Tortured to death," I mumbled but it was weird bow the skin at the back of his neck was peeled off. I tried thinking back to the significance of that but nothing really stood out. I remember there was a tattoo there. One of a bird but what was it?
"Yep. We think he's the reason why you're being hunted," the Crimson Raven informed me and I sighed, cutting the thread and wiping my newly sewn skin with some cotton and alcohol.
"I'll figure it out then," I said pushing my long curly hair back.
"Good," the Crimson Raven said and parked the taxi. I could see the Roadhouse Diner just across the street. "The others and I are mobilizing, finding out what we can. We have to find Jordan."
"I know. I'll do everything I can ok?" I said glancing at her. I mean, I still had Matteo. He knew Jordan on a personal level. That I was sure of. "But in the meantime, keep me updated ok?" I asked her and she nodded.
"Always a pleasure," the Crimson Raven said smiling at me. "Oh before you go..."
I frowned when she handed me a fat envelope. Inside was a wad of cash.
"Thank you but I can't take this-"
"You will. You need to recover after that and I have to do what I can to help. I believe in you Jade Scythe and I'm sure the rest do."
The Crimson Raven looked at me, a warm expression on her face. I held the envelope tighter.
"Ok then. Till we meet again," I mumbled opening the car door and watching as she drove off.
Everything was fucked. I wanted revenge for what my parents did to me, I had to kill Jordan, a new threat had just landed at my feet because of a scrawny looking idiot and then there was Vittore. Running a hand down my face, knowing the next time I saw the Crimson Raven or anyone else like us, things wouldn't be so great. There were just so many lies tangled in each other and somehow, I was at the centre.
Shaking my head, I limped to the Diner and spotted Faye in the window. It was only a second before her eyes lifted to mine and she run out of the diner, holding me in a fierce hug. I hugged her back because even though I hated physical contact, I needed this so much.
I had yet to pull myself out of the emotionless state mentally but that could wait another day. I wanted so badly to just have a day to rest and relax but things were only just starting to get complicated.
"Come on Faye. We have much to do," I told the older woman, pulling out from her hug. She nodded and together, we walked down the street to the nearest store.
What I would give to have my old life back.

The final straw was the issue with her own identity. At first she was okay with being her own brand-new person, but as more and more ghosts of her past started to slowly catch up, she had no choice but to set off on a journey...
