《First one》Fifty-Eight: too cozy too fast

I was sitting on a stool at the bar, my gaze fixed on Lukas and Olivia accompanied by a girl I have never met. He told me she was in his class, but it seemed like there was more to the story, something Lukas was keeping from me. I Couldn't hide the sadness on my face when that girl started being a bit to touchy with him for my liking, anger and hurt boiling at the pit of my stomach. But not as much as I was hurt by Olivia's words. She's a bitch, both of them are. I shrugged my shoulders as the alcohol might make me believe things that weren't there when that Jess girl put her hand on Lukas's chest, and he swatted it away without hesitating. He loves you, he loves you, you should trust him, just trust him. I hummed, trying to convince myself Lukas wasn't going to do anything to hurt me.

"Hey. You seem lonely, do mind if I join?" I tall guy about Lukas's age said to me confidently but polite. His smirk the perfect evidence of his intentions when he took a seat on the barstool next to me without waiting for my answer.

"Uhm I'm-" I stuttered, taken aback by his confidence. He took the stool, pushing it a few inches closer to mine as he sat down, his body facing mine. The first thing I noticed were his striking blue eyes, bright and clear and his messy caramel hair. His white t-shirt hugged his athletic upper body and the original vans he was wearing underneath his jeans gave him an edge. I was flattered by his interest, but I was afraid Lukas might take this the wrong way, because the way he was sitting so close it definitely seemed too friendly. "I'm not lonely, just waiting." I gathered myself while looking back at the crowd, Lukas still talking to Olivia and Jess, disappointment evident on my face as I frowned my brows.

"Then why are you sitting here all by yourself?" Blue eyes cocked his head at me, a smile coating his lips as he leaned one elbow on the bar. I returned my gaze back to him as he spoke observing his face even further. He had a friendly and perfect smile, his cheekbones strong along with his jawline. God definitely didn't miss his mark, making this guy, I had to admit he was handsome. "Two Vodka soda's please." He signed to the girl behind the bar as she passed. Wait two? Did he just get me a drink?

"I don't want a drink, I'm good. Thank you." I smiled at him, nicely declining his offer. If Lukas saw this, tonight was definitely going to go the wrong way and I didn't want to end this night in another argument.

"Come on, one drink won't hurt. Don't worry, I'm not expecting anything, you just look like you aren't having a great time." He smiled, putting some bills on the bar to pay for our drinks. One drink isn't that bad, he's just being nice. "I'm Nathan if you were wondering." He chuckled, nervously looking away and then back at me as his name rolled over his lips. This is getting too cozy too fast. I mean he's nice, but this could look so wrong and this could go wrong too. I have a habit of trusting people too fast and I'm not going to fall for it again.

"No really, I'm good." I smiled, observing his reaction. He looked down and he seemed disappointed especially when the bartender came back with two drinks and he gave her money for it.

"Are you sure you don't just want one drink, now I have to finish two?" He chuckled, looking at both drinks in his hands as he pushed one closer to me over the counter. He gave me a sad puppy look that was so adorable that I almost said yes to his offer. I shook my head and held up my hand to say a final no when a strong inked hand nudged Nathan on his shoulder, pushing him back a bit.

"Are you blind? She doesn't want a drink!" Lukas gritted through his teeth at Nathan as he stood between us and I knew he was tremendously holding back because he was about to punch him in the face. Nathan got up from his barstool, pushing it back so he could face Lukas. Both of them the exact same height, not giving either of them an advantage.

"And who are you?" Nathan, scoffed at him and it felt as if I was watching a movie, unable to do anything about it.

Lukas smirked, taking a step back only to throw his arm around my shoulder, pulling me close to his side. "I'm her boyfriend, dickhead." Lukas half yelled at him before throwing me a smirk. B-B-Boyfriend? Butterflies erupted in my stomach at his words, I guess we had been acting like a couple for quite some time now, but we never labeled it and now that he did it felt even more real.

Nathan pulled one eyebrow up, looking at the both of us with question marks in his eyes. "Then where were you when she was here at the bar with a sad look on her face? Not much of a boyfriend huh if you leave her alone like that." Nathan huffed, disgust visible on his face and I just wanted to tell him it wasn't like that.

I felt Lukas leave my side, his fist balled, and he pushed Nathan back with one hand. "You don't know shit about us." He hissed; his body ready to fight but I wasn't going to let that happen.

"Lukas, enough!" I yelled, trying to stop this from getting out of hand. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him away from the situation with all the manpower I had while mouthing I'm sorry to Nathan. Lukas just saw something out of context, and I couldn't be mad at him for it especially not because he was just trying to protect me from getting hurt again. And he called himself my boyfriend and my stomach was still erupting with tingles and butterflies.

He reluctantly followed me to a quieter spot at the club, rolling his eyeballs as usual. "Why did you do that?" He stopped me in my tracks, jolting me backwards to meet his face, his eyes like thunderclouds. I smiled at him tilting my head sideways, he was jealous and somehow it was cute. Without hesitating I took a step towards him, draping my arms around his neck to pull myself up to his lips. Just when I could taste the sprite in his lips, he pushed me back down, the expression on his face disappointed. "I'm serious, why would you take a drink from him?" He clenched his jaw, clearly upset by what he saw minutes ago, exactly what he saw because I didn't take a drink, it only looked like it.

"I didn't Lukas." I said, searching his face for a hint of joy but all I saw was disappointment.

"I turn my back for two minutes and some random guy is buying you a drink. He had two drinks Bella, I'm not stupid, I know that one was for you, you probably declined because you knew I was watching from a distance. If I wasn't here, would you have taken it? Of course, you would have, you might as well have gone home with him." He ranted, shaking his head with disbelief and even though I was a bit taken aback by his words the rush of happiness flowing through me took the upper hand, not letting this overshadow the one word that was dearest to me tonight.

I put both my hands on each side of his face, catching his gaze with mine. "Lukas, are you going to quit acting like an asshole?" I said gently with a smirk on my face. "You told me to go sit at that bar remember." I tried to shake his head from my hands, but I held on to it with dear life, keeping his attention. "I wouldn't do that behind your back, Lukas. You're acting ridiculous right now. So why don't you stop making assumptions for once!" I said sternly, still I was unable to hide the smile on my face. I wasn't angry or mad, I just wanted to make a point.

He let his head fall back as he sighed deeply. "Fine." He said much against his own will. I knew he was just saying that to stop this argument, because somewhere he knew I wouldn't, and he could trust me but a part of him wanted to see all the wrongs in this situation. "I just don't l-"

"Luke, here you are." Ben all of a sudden interrupted Lukas by putting a hand on his shoulder like he was relieved to see us. "You're sister, she's really drunk and almost asleep at our booth. I think she needs to go home before she starts feeling sick and pukes all over the place." Ben said, a hint of worry sparkling in his eyes.

"Fine, we're coming." Lukas said to Ben, patting him on the shoulder but before we started walking to our booth Lukas turned around to address me, his thundercloud eyes still predicting a mild storm. "We're not done talking about this." He said putting the emphasis on talking. I shook my head while smiling at the same time, because I knew he was just a tiny bit jealous and it looked so cute on him.

We walked to our booth, finding Mia with a smile on her face but she was clearly a bit too drunk as she could barely keep her eyes open. "Hi you guysssss... there youuuu are..." She gibbered, slurring her words terribly.

Lukas grabbed her arm, gently pulling her from the booth to support her by her waist so she could stand up. "Come on Mia, time to go home." Lukas cared for his sister; he was being so gentle with her it made my heart melt.

Mia shook her head, her hand grabbing on to Ben's arm. "I want to goooo home with Bennn." She slurred while leaving Lukas's side to drape her arms around Ben's shoulders, his arms wrapping around her waist to keep her steady. Lukas looked at the both of them with a frown on his face. "Pleasssee Ben, let me sleep on yourrrr couch?" She purred, putting her forehead in the crook of his neck. I know it's wrong, because she's with Jason but who cares about that jerk.

"Mia for fucks sake, are you really trying to be difficult right now?" Lukas gritted, rolling his eyes at her actions as she hung on to ben like she was never letting go, and Ben, he looked at Lukas with an apologetic expression on his face.

"If I get in your carrr, I'll throwww up!" She yelled, lifting her head from Ben's shoulder to convince her brother to let her stay with him.

"She has a point Lukas." I tried to be a helping hand while trying to hide my smile.

"Lukas, it's fine. You know her. She won't give up until she gets what she wants, and she will definitely throw up in your car if you take her. My roommate is with his girlfriend so she can sleep it off in his room. My apartment is just a two-minute walk and I know I can carry her, she's a feather." Ben spoke up, biting his lip as he awaited Lukas's answer.

Lukas sighed, looking around and I could hear him think about what was the right thing to answer. "Fine then." Lukas sighed again and Ben nodded, turning around towards the exit. Lukas's hand grabbed his arm turning him back a little. "Ben, if you hurt her or let anything happen to her, you're dead. She's my sister, don't forget." He warned before watching both of them walk towards the exit. "What?" He said when he turned around and found me staring at him.

"Nothing." I chuckled before taking his wrist and dragging him out of this club as well. He didn't grab my hand, a sign he was still a bit angry with me for that thing at the bar earlier.

The entire walk towards his car, parked in an alley nobody would come Lukas remained silent, even though I could almost hear him think. Something was clearly bothering him. "You wanted to talk, so talk." I said, grabbing his hand, waiting for him to intertwine his fingers with mine.
