《First one》Fifty: don't freak out

"Guys I don't have all day... Why don't you come back when you solved your little problem..." The guy behind the desk said, raising his voice. You're definitely not employee of the month.
"You don't have to be rude. A Size 6.5 for me please." I said not even trying to stay polite while I smiled at Lukas, taking his hand in mine, intertwining our fingers.
I felt his hand relax in mine the moment I smiled at him. "Size 10 for me." Lukas said to the guy, who went to the aisle to get our skates. "So, you don't want to go home?" He whispered leaning to the side to be closer to me.
"I'm sorry, I just thought..." I sighed, trying to find words to explain why I acted like a child, moping around over a stupid joke. "Never mind I shouldn't have reacted like that. I don't want to go home Lukas." I almost stuttered, pushing the words past my shame, hoping he wouldn't like me less for overreacting.
He turned to me, his eyes filled with relief instead of the expected aversion "Good, neither do I. Bells I m-"
"Here are your skates, don't try to break your neck." The guy from before scoffed after giving me a once over, slowly and I knew that at this point it had Lukas rolling his eyes.
"Dude keep your eyeballs in their sockets, that's my date you're drooling on." Lukas scoffed back at him while taking his skates from the desk same time I took mine, not letting go of his hand.
"Seemed like minutes ago she wanted to run away from you. Fast." The guy rolled his brown eyes and I could feel Lukas's frustration build up as he started to squeeze my hand.
"You must really hate your job..." I quickly said to the guy before taking Lukas's hand and dragging him away before he'd punch the guy in the face. I stopped at a bench, putting my skates on the ground before sitting down.
I pulled Lukas's hand down to join me on the bench, pulling him close to me, nudging him with my shoulder. "I'm sorry." He said shaking his head before putting his hand through his hair.
"What for? For not checking the reviews on the staff on yelp?" I chuckled while taking off my high tops. Looking to the side to see him watching my every move.
"For everything. For making that stupid joke, bringing you here." He said, unable to hide the disappointment in his voice, but he wasn't the one who needed to apologize, I was.
"No, I am sorry for being bothered by those girls. I-I just overthink sometimes. I just don't know how to compete with them." I said, stopping to take my shoes off for a second, just to face him, his eyes carefully focused on mine.
My words made Lukas shake his head with disbelief before slightly parting his lips to speak. "Bella, I meant every word I said. You're a whole different league. Trust me when I say you're not competing with anyone." He said, frowning his brows at the thought of me worrying about such a thing.
"I know. I'm sorry." I said taking in his lovely words that melted my heart like a piece of chocolate in the sun. He really meant it. "Lukas, you are more than enough." I said while taking his hand, and quickly kissing his cheek, letting my lips linger before slowly pulling away, his face following my movement, keeping our lips close.

"This date is a mess." He whispered while sighing deeply, his minty breath fanning over my lips, making me want to kiss his.
"First dates always are, but if you ask me it's pretty perfect so far." I said, putting my hand in his neck to pull him closer, brushing my lips over his, closing the gap by pressing our lips against each other. Lukas slowly pulled back, his hand putting a strand of blonde hair behind my ear before leaning back in, kissing my slowly but with enough intent it made the pit of my stomach tingle. Both of us felt a pair of eyes staring at us and when we simultaneous looked to the side we saw the guy behind the skate desk watching us. I couldn't help it and leaned in, kissing Lukas again, this kiss to show the guy I was his.
"Since when are you such a badass, kissing me to get on that poor guy's nerves." Lukas chuckled, breaking our kiss, his grey eyes joyful.
"I was only trying to make a point." I teased him while taking of my jacket and squeezing my foot inside my skate. I finally saw him take of his shoes too and I almost let out a laugh when I saw him struggle with the skates.
"Yeah? What point might that be?" He smirked while I tried to tie the laces on my skates, he was still struggling though and it somehow was adorable, but I couldn't tell him that without damaging his ego. He took off his jacket too, revealing him in a black button up, which surprisingly really suited him.
"That I'm a good kisser." I laughed, getting up from the bench, rolling away. He probably forgot I wait tables waring a ridiculous pair of skates, though this was different this was for fun.
"Wait until I get over there, I'll show you what good kissing is." He scoffed with a smirk on his face, tying the last knot on his skates. I only laughed because I already knew he wasn't going to get me, not on those skates at least.
"What are you going to do huh?" I teased him to come and get me, but he was already struggling to get off that bench. Once he was up his feet, he carefully rolled over towards me but unable to stop he grabbed me trying to come to a halt.
"How are you so good at this?" He said, clenching on to me like I was his lifeboat. But once he stood tall, he couldn't help but to gaze down on me, his eyes admiring whatever he was seeing. We slowly rolled over to the rink, Lukas taking the desk guy's advice and trying not to break his neck.
"Have you seriously forgotten I wait tables in these things?" I tried to sound offended, but I just couldn't stop smiling at how ridiculously adorable he looked on those skates. Like putting a tutu on a pig. It didn't fit but I admired that he was trying to step out of his comfort zone for me.
"Yeah... Kind of. I'm always distracted by that sexy uniform." Lukas smirked, giving me a once over as he desperately held on to the border of the rink. "Shit you hate this, don't you?" He said, once again fear clouding his face, not sure if it was fear for falling or fear for messing up this date.
"I hate working there, and I hate the uniform, but this is fun! Now, stop worrying Lukas. I love this." I smiled while taking his hand and leading him away from that border because he'll never learn that way.

"Too bad you hate the uniform." He smirked, his hand squeezing mine every time he loses his balance.
"Mention the uniform again and I'll go faster." I laughed as I kept dragging him along for the next hour, every minute going smoother than the one before and by the end Lukas got the hang of it.
"Well, Look at me, I'm a pro!" Lukas said and at that moment his ego decided to teach him a lesson as he fell backwards, his ass hitting the floor quite hard.
"Jesus, are you okay?" I hushed over to him, getting down on my knees besides him to check on him.
"Yeah yeah, I'm fine... I don't think I'm ready to wait tables at Gregory's." he laughed it off, much to my surprise.
"You could always borrow that uniform if you want too?" I joked, helping him to his feet.
"Don't think it would fit around the man I am." He said, making me burst out in laughter as I dragged him off this rink, I think he had been pushed enough out of his comfort zone. "Seriously, I don't know how you do it, working on these things." Lukas asked as we took the skates off. I giggled when I saw him grab his sore ankles.
"I have to... it pays well, and I need it to pay my apartment. It's either that or go back to my parents..." I said, putting the laces inside the shoes like the thousands of signs in the place tell you to do.
"Bells, you can't go back to them..." Lukas said, looking at me with worry in his eyes before stretching his hand out to mine, his fingers stroking my skin, even though subtle, it was enough to set me on fire.
"I know, that's why I put up with Gregory and bite my tongue every time I want to quit." I said, almost sighing at the thought of how my life was right now. Also making me realize, that even though the situation was far from ideal, I had never been happier. Lukas cares for me, Mia cares for me and I truly care for them.
"Do you want to grab something to eat? How about Asian food, I know a place?" Lukas surprised me because I was sure he was more of a burger and fries kind of guy.
"Sure, surprise me. So far you have been pretty good at that." I chuckled at him.
After returning the skates to that rude guy behind the desk we drove a few minutes and stopped in front of a beautiful looking restaurant, typically Asian with lots of colors and statues, but I loved it. We took a seat at a booth near the window and soon an old Asian woman greeted us by giving us the menus.
"What do you like?" Lukas asked, not even opening his menu. He just sat there, a smirk on his face while he stared at me trying to choose something of this ridiculously long menu.
"What's good here?" I chuckled while watching the sight in front of me, admiring his tattoos for the thousands time, staring at his eyes, the tension between us building.
"Do you mind if I order?" He said, looking at me with and endless smile on his face, like bringing a kid to a toy store. He was so excited about this food he made me question whether or not he and Mia weren't twins or something, they are so alike in a different kind of way.
"Sure." I chuckled and soon the woman from earlier came to take our order. Lukas surprised me by knowing all the Asian food names by heart not even needing his menu to peek.
"So, what's your favorite color?" He asked out of the blue when the woman left our table, his smoldering eyes never leaving my sight.
"That's a random question." I chuckled, unable to hide the surprise on my face as I pulled my eyebrows up at him.
"Well you should get to know each other on a first date." Lukas said dramatically as if he's the one always following the rules.
"Fine, it's lilac." I said, smiling at how serious he was taking this whole first date thing. "Yours?" He opened his mouth to answer but I wasn't done just yet. "Wait, let me guess, it's black." I smiled, putting my elbows on the table so I could rest my head on my folded hands.
"Snowflake, black technically isn't a color." He shook his head wiht amusement when I widened my eyes at his comment. "It's Sapphire blue."
I shook my head at his words as it was the last thing, I would expect from him, not the color but his way of describing it. "Why?"
"Because it's an interesting color, It's light and colorful but in a way dark and historical. In some cultures, the color stands for wisdom in others for leadership and fidelity." He said, leaning in closer putting his elbows on the table as well. But all I could think of was to pull my jaw from the floor because I was shook with the way he knew those details.
"How do you know this?" I said, smiling ear to ear and curious to know more about this.
"I just like to know the meaning behind colors." He chuckled, staring at my eyes like he was analyzing their color too.
"One wouldn't say when they were to see your wardrobe." I teased him, hiding the fact I like the way he dresses, dark and mysterious.
"What's wrong with my wardrobe?" He said, looking down at himself, inspecting his attire.
"Nothing, you look really nice. Certainly, can't wait to take that shirt o-" I quickly put my hands in front of my mouth when I realized I was saying that last part out loud, which of course I didn't intend. You stupid chicken.
His eyes widened at my dauntlessness, putting his bottom lips between his teeth to keep himself from exploding with laughter. "I dare you to finish that sentence." He teased as I felt his knee brush against mine underneath the table.
I bit my lip and squeezed my eyes at him before parting my lips to speak. "To take it off." I shyly said, looking around to see whether or not someone heard. He laughed, his smile making me feel warm inside and the fact he had pushed his knee further between my legs also didn't help. He slowly bounded his knee up and down, brushing against the inside of my thighs, both of us enjoying the sensation while we stared at each other, his grey eyes lustful as always.
My phone unstoppably shimming next to us on the table pulled us out of our little moment. I grabbed my phone to put it on silent, until I saw the name on my display. It was Mia, who knew I was on a date with Lukas, so she wouldn't disturb it unless it was important. "Sorry, it's Mia, maybe something happened with Jason..." I apologized to Lukas for taking my phone before I started reading the texts.
: I thought you should know...
: Guess what, karma is a bitch!
: There was major drama in the cafeteria today... It's Drew
: Someone hit him in the face with a tray
: Can you believe it, whoever did this is a goddamn hero...I'm texting around to see who did it.
: That bastard had it coming.
: Sorry I was excited, enjoy your date, bye!
"Oh shit." I said a bit too loud as the old lady waiting tables looked at us with a questioned look on her face. I have to admit being around Lukas has a bad influence on my vocabulary, but if that's the only thing, I'm fine with it.
"What's wrong?" Lukas said, immediately thinking something was wrong with his sister.
"Mia texted to say someone hit Drew in the face with a tray in the cafeteria, she's asking around whoever did it. That's uuuhm... That's kind of... I don't know..." I said not knowing what to think of it. I saw the look on Lukas's face change from worried about his sister to a different kind of worried and something told me he wasn't worried about Drew Foster.
"Bells... Don't freak out okay?" Lukas said in a hurry, carefully putting his hands in front of him to calm down the situation, trying to explain what was going on, but I had a feeling I was looking at the culprit himself. Oh Lukas...
