《First one》Twenty-Three: such a nerd

After an hour with Lukas studying in front of me, I was a mess. My eyes couldn't stay focused on my book for longer than a minute before looking up at him, staring at his face like it was the most perfect thing I had ever seen. I almost forgot Mia was sitting next to him, her fingers eagerly writing out the answers to the questions I prepared for her.
A small grunt escaped Lukas's plump lips as he kept pulling his notes closer to his face, his expression troubled and agitated.
"What's the problem? Can't read your own handwriting?" I remarked, slightly smiling at him. It caused him to lean back and throw the papers in front of him on the table before crossing his arms in front of his chest, not answering me. He looked at me with narrowed eyes like I offended him, adding to his sudden irritated mood. "What?" I asked confused.
"The boy's just too stubborn to wear his glasses in front of a girl." Mia hissed at him while continuing to focus on her books. Oh, please kill me now, adding glasses to his already sexy face is going to be too much...
"Is that true?" I grinned at him; his face even more irritated now that his little sister revealed his secret. "You. Wear. Glasses." It slipped out before I knew and I put my lips in a straight line trying to contain myself from bursting into laughter. The bitch made fun of my glasses last time, now I'm going to give him a hard time in return. He tilted his head to the side, and tried to keep a straight face, but his mouth was forming a subtle smile before squinting his eyes at me again.I'm getting on his nerves, good. He returned to his papers and took them in his hands, trying to read but clearly failing as he grunted like a caveman.
"Oh please, just wear the damn glasses Lukas! You're annoying me." Mia snapped before rolling her eyes at him violently which caused me to giggle to my own surprise. Like eyerolling runs in the family Lukas threw his eyes to the back of his head before reached down into his backpack.
With a thud he placed the black box in front of him on the table before opening it, his eyes never leaving my sight. To my surprise he winked at me playfully while biting his lips as he put on his black framed glasses. Someone please mop the floor because I just melted into a puddle under my chair. First the cast, now the glasses. Honestly, I don't know why he's ashamed to wear them because good god it added to his sexiness, which I didn't know was even possible. If I thought I was screwed before, I'm definitely screwed now.
Through his glasses he looked at me with intense eyes, like I wasn't already affected enough because my mouth was already parted while I was staring at his face. I had to cross my legs because it made me that uncomfortable but before I could his foot stood between my legs under the table, keeping me from crossing mine. Oh, fairy godmother and Tinkerbelle, help me. The tension between us was building and I was surprised but also relieved Mia hadn't noticed it as much as I thought she would have. Without saying another word Lukas took his papers and started reading, clearly being able to do so now, but I wanted more. It's not like I could concentrate on anything else...

"What is it you're majoring in anyway? You never said." I said, suddenly looking over at Mia, because as far as she knew Lukas and I never had a decent conversation, but her reaction was motionless. Well, for someone who doesn't pass that many classes she sure can concentrate.
"Structural engineering." He said, his head peeking behind the papers he was holding in front of his face, probably trying to hide the glasses.
"What's that exactly?" I knew what an engineer was but structural? That was new to me... And of course, I made myself look dumb in the process of asking... great move...
"Long story short? Designing and building bridges and stuff like that... well not building them with my hands but with intricate formulas making sure they don't collapse... What can I say... I'm a math genius." He smiled and my mind was blown into a thousand pieces. He was an asshole, but a smart one... I didn't think in a million years he would be... you know smart. I know, I jumped to conclusions too fast and I definitely underestimated him. He smiled as his head still peeked from behind his papers, looking at my playfully.
"First the glasses, now this... didn't think you were such a nerd." I chuckled because I didn't mean it in any way to be offensive, if anything it truly amazed me but the smile on his face disappeared and his eyes turned from soft grey to thunderclouds and blizzards, his body shifting in his chair uncomfortably. "Hey relax, it's awesome what you do and the glasses suit you... I mean it." I said putting my hands up, trying to calm his temper from turning clouded.
"Bella, don't give him to many compliments, his ego is already big enough as it is. He won't be able to fit through the door if you keep piling up the nice words." Mia laughed and it made me grin in return causing Lukas to roll his eyes again and letting out a scoff.
At that we all returned to our books like nothing happened. Mia running her hands through her hair as she was stuck on a question, Lukas looking incredibly hot with his glasses and me sweating every time our eyes met even if it was just for a second.
This was the worst study environment ever because never had I experienced such a lack of focus and the culprit was sitting right in front of me. I had to change my plan. I couldn't speak because Mia would get suspicious and I couldn't touch his foot under the table to get his attention because if I did, I'm pretty sure I was going to have a stroke. I've got an idea.Taking my phone out of my bag and putting it on silent I smiled mischievous.
: Never ever take those glasses off!
His phone vibrated next to him on the table and he seemed irritated until he saw whose name popped up on the screen. Rapidly he looked up at the grin on my face and I can't even describe the way he looked at me next. He pushed the button on the side of his phone, putting it on silent too before letting his fingers dance on his phone, grinning at it in the process.
: Well well, what is it? Lost your tongue? Why you like them?
Well yeah as soon as you put on those glasses, I lost my tongue and my willpower with it. While I looked at his message, I could feel his eyes burning on me and I have to say it felt good.

: Do you want your sister to give you crap for flirting with her friend?
I smiled at my phone and before I could put it down, he was already answering me, so I decided to keep my phone clutched in the palm of my hands. I knew talking wasn't an option but now we were both grinning at our phones and casually looking up at each other to see how the other would react. Not as subtle as I thought it was going to be.
: friends don't flirt...
I looked at him after reading his message and I couldn't hide my disappointment but the look on his face made me doubt if he even meant one single word.
: Call it what you want, as long as you keep the damn glasses on
: Why?
He looked up, his eyes confused and his teeth biting down on his bottom lip. Oh boy don't do that...
: You know why...
After reading the text his eyes glistened behind his glasses before adjusting the collar of his hoodie like it became too warm under said conditions. His tongue licked his lips, wetting them before focusing on his phone.
: Where are yours?
: In my bag... You made fun of them last time.
His head cocked to the side before tilting it to the side shaking his head slightly. Either he was taking back his words or he was thinking about a sentence to make fun of them again.
: Please put them on... They look fucking cute on you... And smart... And you know what...
My heart was pounding and my mouth smiling when I read his text making me gooey in all sorts of places. How a simple text like this could make me so weak, leaving me tingly all over my body, it completely blew my mind. He was having an even bigger effect on my than I thought and if it wasn't for this table between us and his sister, I would have pulled him towards me right then and there. Somewhere in the back of my mind a voice was still whispering that it was better to take it slow and be friends with this man, but hell with thinking clearly... It wasn't possible at this moment as I couldn't keep my feelings straight.
His foot grazing mine pulled me out of my thoughts with an electric shock awakening all my senses. I had to pull my shit together not to gasp at his touch and when I looked up, I saw him begging me, pouting his lips and tapping his fingers to his glasses. Say no more, I can't resist that face. I grabbed my glasses from my bag and put them on after pushing my hair out of my face.
He looked at me with the same adoration in his eyes as when he dropped me off at my apartment a week ago. I remembered his lips on mine and I wanted nothing more than to crawl into my bubble and relive it over and over again. Especially with his teeth biting down on his lips while looking at me satisfied as I was pushing my glasses up my nose. I saw him grabbing his phone from the table before typing something and I couldn't wait to see what it was. My heart skipped a beat when my phone lit up, his name all over my screen.
: This is seriously making me doubt if I still want to be just friends... J
His eyes are pulling me in and I was ready to stand up and walk over to him but I remembered Mia was still here and I wasn't planning on giving in in a heartbeat, even though I didn't have a heartbeat left, all it was, was a throbbing sound going too fast to make something of it. Before I could think my foot grazed up his leg, making him gasp for air as my sudden movement surprised him as much as it did me. Instead of pulling away he put his leg closer to my, making it easier for me to touch him... the table was very long but lucky for me not so wide. As his leg came closer, he pushed he knee between my legs, the one place where the tension was becoming unbearable. I wanted to talk to him, to interact with him, do all sorts of things to him, but the fact I couldn't was too much to handle and I think he was thinking the exact same thing because he opened his mouth and said the most perfect sentence with the most perfect timing.
"Mia, why don't you walk to the Asian restaurant at the corner and get us some food. I'm crazy hungry." I giggled at his words because I knew he wasn't just craving food.
"I'm not your slave." She said lifting her head from her books, directing a deathly stare at her brother.
"I'll pay." Lukas said, reaching to the back pocket of his jeans before throwing his wallet on the table between him and Mia. "Come on sis, we'll set the table..." He said cocking a brow at me.
"Setting the table...and doing the dishes for two weeks. Take it or go get your damn food yourself." Mia laughed but she meant every word of it. Damn I don't know how they haven't killed each other living together in one apartment.
Lukas threw another eyeroll and a sigh into the fight before accepting the deal and giving Mia a fifty-dollar bill. "Bring whatever you want, as long as it's enough for all of us, your guest is staying over for dinner." He smiled at me, Mia looking confused at the both of us.
"Of course she is, what did you think. Don't flatter yourself by inviting her, she doesn't need to ask you whether or not she can to stay for dinner. She's always welcome!" Her words made me appreciate every inch of the girl I called my friend but from now on I nicknamed my best friend. Never had someone truly cared for me like Mia and I loved her for it! "If my brother annoys you while I'm gone, kick him in the balls and he'll shut up...works every time." She laughed while making her way to the door before taking her red jacket from the coat rack next to the entrance. When the door slammed shut behind her, I realized we were alone at the apartment which made me shift nervously in my chair, my leg not so accidently stroking his knee.
Lukas and all his perfect features were staring at me like he was trying to read my mind. "What's with all the makeup today?" He asked suddenly, his mouth staying parted while he frowned his brows. It was like his question had been hibernating on his tongue the entire evening.
"You don't like it?" I said, my face looking troubled while leaning back in my chair.
"I do, but you don't need it." He smiled.
"Oh." Was all I could say, my mind confused as to why he would like it if all he does is pick girls with cake faces.
"The outfit too, I like it don't get me wrong, it's just not you." He smiled taking the top of his pen between his teeth while pushing his knee further between my legs if that was even possible. But I was confused. I was looking exactly like what I thought was his type...Makeup, tight clothing and now he's not really into it... Am I stupid or are guys confusing???All that freaking effort for what... nothing.I pushed my chair back and walked towards the kitchen without saying a word or looking back.
I opened all the cabinets to find some plates, forks and knifes because we did promise Mia to set the table. I gathered everything on the counter when two hands slipped from behind me, leaning on the counter and caging me against it. I felt his chest leaning against the back of my shoulders, his breath waving through my hair and I whimpered while I closed my eyes for a second to compose myself.
"I meant it as a compliment Bella." He whispered, his lips almost touching my ear. "You don't need to put your face in a pile of makeup or wear clothes like this to get my attention... Although I have to say your ass in this jean is making me weak." Weaker than me at this moment, I doubt it pal... As his words entered my thoughts, I felt the blood rush to my cheeks and the excitement flow in the opposite direction. To my surprise I liked his dirty mouth and I longed for more, much more than just words.
"Is that so?" I said, the words floating in the air in front of me. He shifted his hands making the space he held me prisoner in against the counter smaller to the point I couldn't go left or right. Not that I wanted to, god no, I was right where I wanted to be. Without saying another word, he pushed his hips into my backside, letting me feel first-hand how weak I was making him. I gasped when I felt him, all of him. One of his hands lifted up from the counter only to pull my hair back, gently pushing it to one side, exposing the delicate skin of my neck. Without hesitation but as soft and slowly as he could he put his lips in the small of my neck, right where he could feel my pulse going crazy. The sensation of his lips kissing the most, well almost sensitive part of my body forced my mouth to let out a small moan while I let my head fall back against his shoulder, tilting slightly to the side and giving him full access to whatever place he wanted to kiss next. His other hand also let go of the counter before wrapping it around my waist, pulling me against him while keeping pressure on the lower part of our bodies. Oh god, what does he do to me...
I wanted to turn around and wrap my arms around his neck and kiss his soft lips before letting his tongue claim mine as his own but he wasn't letting go of me to do so and I enjoyed how he was making every nerve in my body be on edge as he continued to kiss my neck. His hand moved up to the back of my head, his fingers lacing through my roots. We were both lost in the moment until he let his fingers fall from my hair before grapping his phone out of his back pocket and putting it on the counter in front of us. It was bothering him, and I understood why when I saw the screen lit up with 4 missed calls.
"Maybe you should answer it?" I said, almost panting as he continued kissing my neck.
"I don't want to. I want to keep doing this until Mia gets back. I have been thinking about doing this the entire evening and now that I have the chance I want to enjoy every second of you Bella." He whispered against my now damp skin, his nose stroking my ear as his arm wrapped around me firmly pushing himself further into me.
"It could be important?" I said when the screen lit up again buzzing one time at the beginning of the call. Without saying anything he sighed before growling into my neck. He pulled away from me entirely and it immediately made me miss the heat his body had been radiating all over mine. He grabbed his phone from the counter and rested his backside against it while answering the call.
"Yo, what's up... This better be important because it's the worst possible timing." He said to the person on the phone while smiling at me, pleased with whatever it was we started minutes ago. "Ben, wait...He what...?" The expression on his face changed immediately and I bet whatever it was Ben told him, it couldn't have been good. "The son of a bitch..." He frowned his brows while shaking his head with disgust. I shook my head at him trying to get a response from him because I was too curious to be left out of this even though it probably wasn't my business. "I'm going to fucking kill him!" He raged as he walked to the living room with me following in his footsteps, genuinely concerned about him. "No, I'll handle it. Don't say a word about it to her dude! It'll ruin her entire year!" He hung up the phone before throwing it onto the couch. "Fuck!!" He screamed and I put my hand on his shoulder to calm him down, but he quickly shrugged it off like it was the plague. "Don't touch me Bella, just leave me be for a minute." He sighed while pacing around in the living room.
"What is it." I asked but it was like he didn't hear me, so I repeated myself. "What is it? What was that about?" All he did was shake his head, sighing, his face red with anger and his hands balled into fist. "Tell me!" I insisted, worried about him, as I grabbed his wrist to grasp his attention.
"It's fucking Jason! The scumbag is cheating on Mia..." He said while nervously pacing up and down between the table and the couch, my hand still clutched around his wrist. Oh, fucking hell... my heart is shattering for her...
