《The House Keeper》42

I shifted from one foot to another as I waited.

Everyone was here.

Monty had made me so happy this time a year ago when she agreed to me. She said yes, to me.

I whisked her and Cody back home to Sydney as quick as I could. We were staying in my house there until my surprise to Monty was finished.

It was finished. But I wasn't ready to show her yet. Not till we come back from our honeymoon. Cody will be staying with my parents, much to his disgust. But Monty had talked him in to it, finally, after I coaxed her in to doing it.

Today was our wedding day. I was nervous as all hell. I knew Monty didn't have the best track record with weddings, but I trust her. She will be here. It's still a bit early, but she will be here. I'll be here, waiting for an eternity for her.

I looked over the guests as they mingled with each other.

I wanted to marry Monty the day I found her in the garden, there and then. But Monty said no, no running away, no eloping. She wanted to do it right and properly.

I smiled at my parents nervously. My mother was quite smug with herself. She was right. As usual.

I told them about Cody and they were slightly disappointed that he wasn't Conner's child. Cody was their only connection to Conner. But I assured them it was for the best, having a parent.

Then I told them that Monty was going to be his mother. They were happy, excited. I knew it would happen, my mother had told me. I couldn't have found anyone better was my father's words.

Monty found her mother, Claire, and patched things up with her. They cleared their past after an emotional week and Monty had found out that it wasn't that her mother couldn't look after her physically, it was financially and she was too embarrassed to admit it back then.

Monty had forgiven her and they started their mother and daughter bond.

It was through her mother, Monty had found out about other relatives, Aunty's and uncles, cousins and grandparents.

Then she touched base with her father. She found him in Perth. After a few bitter words back and forth between myself and Monty, we all flew to Perth because I wasn't allowing her to go alone.

That's where she found her father. He was a manager at a mining company. Monty was so nervous. A twenty four year old meeting her father for the first time ever.

That's when she discovered the missing pieces of her family. Monty was a sister. It shocked her as she was always an only child. She was overwhelmed by the revelation. We all had met at dinner. She had a younger sister that was twenty years old, a brother that was fifteen and another sister that was nine.

That made Monty ecstatic. But what tipped Monty on was she had a niece. A little three year old niece. I still remember the inside joke we shared about her being good with three year olds.

Clark, Monty's father was overjoyed when she introduced Cody as her son. I was filled with pride and even more love for her, if that was possible.

She had met her stepmother, Rachel, that night too.

Now her family went from being just Monty, to Monty, myself and Cody plus my parents, to a horde.

She had invited them all to our wedding. I looked over at my best man, my long time friend, Bailey. Bailey hasn't met Monty yet, and for good reasons. He is a man whore. His philosophy is, if the finger is bare, so is the woman.

Bailey and I usually spend a couple nights at the clubs whenever I was up here. But since Monty had come along, the visits had been scarce.

Bailey was talking to me and I couldn't concentrate. I just agreed with him with shakes or nods of my head.

"Ollie!" He snapped his fingers in front of me.

"Huh?" I looked at him.

"Nervous?" He teased me.

"Shut up. Remember, no man whoring." I warned him and he flashed me a cheeky grin. I couldn't help but smile. I know damn well he won't listen.

"Nah, I don't see anyone I like." He whispered to me. "Yet."

I couldn't help but chuckle at him. Same old Bailey since his first experience as a sixteen year old.

I watched Cody follow Monty's new brother around. Cody adored him. I smiled at them. Cody was so excited when he found out that Damon was his uncle. He had an uncle again since we discovered I was his biological father.

The boys were hushed back to the back of the set up. It was getting close to the time. I felt nervous still, but I was determined about this. I was confident that Monty will show.

I wanted Monty since... I groaned involuntarily.

I had ignored my feelings for her the minute I felt her on me when I woke up in front of the fireplace in the study.

I tended to her, in my own arrogant way, when she was sick.

I found myself enjoying her company ever since she initiated that snowball fight, making me discover my fun side I had left behind since Conner died.

But it was the very first time that I held her knowingly, preventing her from falling on the icy footpath. With her in my arms, me staring into her big gemstone green eyes.

The way she defended Cody every time we fought since Cody showed up, it made my heart swell, despite the mood I was in.

When we were at the hotel, Monty drunk, all I wanted was to hold her, carry her to the closest bed and shower her in kisses, make love to her, and I nearly did when I kissed her.

But it was when I found out she was back with Percy, after she rejected him, that jealousy had coursed through me. I didn't want her with Percy. He had his chance. He blew it. I wanted her now.

Then she quit. Monty up and left us. In the first two days of her gone, I finally admitted to myself that I love her. I battled with myself before finding Percy, giving Monty up. I didn't want to, but I wanted her to be happy. Even if it cost my happiness.

These past twelve months, was been different. Monty, with the help from Cody, has brought out my fun side, the side I thought I buried with Conner. The void she had filled, that was once empty on the death of my twin. The silly games she plays with Cody and with me, I enjoyed. Upon the realisation of her doing this, I love her even more. She had found my playful side that I had never wanted to use again, but now, it's everyday that is filled with someone laughing, someone playing.

The music started and the guests sat in the seats. Everyone stopped talking and looked at where Monty will appear.

Monty's youngest sister, Jasmine and Monty's niece, Lucy were the flower girls. They looked cute in their dresses as they threw flower petals on the red carpet. They both had smiles widely plastered on their faces and Lucy went to wonder off to her grandparents when they reached the alter, but Rachel put her back with Jasmine. A few people giggled and cooed at them.

Then Damon, Monty's brother appeared with Cody. They looked so smart in their tuxedoes. They came to the alter and turned to me, standing next to Bailey.

I felt a slight poke in my ribs and looked at Bailey. "What?" I hissed at him.

"Who is that?" He whispered to me, leaning closer to keep his voice quiet.

I looked at Monty's sibling. She was slowly walking towards the alter, smiling. Her long purple dress flowed behind her with every step. "Rebecca. Monty's sister."

"She is hot!" Bailey grinned at me. "Is she over eighteen?"

I ignored him and that was the answer Bailey was after. "Sweet." I heard him mutter to himself. I couldn't help but smile.

The game has begun for him. I leaned over to him. "See that little toddler?"

"Yeah?"

"That's her daughter."

Bailey's face paled and I watched in contentment. Then he shrugged it off, to my surprise. "Maybe I'll do to her what Monty did to you then?"

I looked away from the bridal party to Bailey. "Monty didn't do anything to...."

Then I saw her. She was here. And she was gorgeous. My breathing had stopped, my heart long gone. I felt Bailey tap me on the shoulder. "You were saying?"

I watched Monty as she came closer. Her smile large when she saw me.

Her ballroom dress puffed out around her as she held her father's arm. The dress was stunning and I loved it.

I admitted to her weeks ago when she was wearing a shirt, that I liked that design on her, her shoulders bare. She told me it was an off the shoulder. That was her dress.

It defined her breasts and looked strapless with the loose sleeves draping down her upper arms.

She looked every part of a princess, no, a queen. My queen.

I felt my heart beat faster as Monty came closer. Her hair made her look angelic as it was pinned back and cascaded down her back in curls.

I admit that I like her hair in curls, it made her look pretty, but when she straightens her hair, oh damn, that makes her hot.

Her father kissed her cheek and shook my hand.

I took Monty's hand into mine. "You look very handsome, Mr Black." She teased me. I wanted to groan but held it in. It drives me wild when she teases me.

"You look gorgeous. Breath takingly gorgeous." I smirked at her. "Soon to be, Mrs Black." I added.

I saw her blush and I loved it. I love everything about her. I love her.
