When I woke up, I looked around to see that I was outside. There was torches lit, and I went to sit up when I realized I was being held down by chains.

I struggled against them, and Carson walked over to me with a tiny smirk on his lips.

"It's almost time," he said, happily. "And to be honest, I'm a little disappointed that your lover didn't come for you."

"Why? Because you couldn't kill him?" I replied, bitterly.

He nodded,"Killing mates are so fun."

"You are a psycho, and you will rot in hell."

"A psycho?" He repeated what I asked with a bitter laugh. "Mates make you weak; love makes you weak."

I shook my head,"Not true."

"It is. My parents loved me, and because of that love, they took away my powers."

"You killed innocent people, Carson!" I exclaimed before taking a deep breath to calm myself down.

"They were not innocent. Werewolves are never innocent."

"And vampires are?"

"Do you ever think why I killed those people?" Carson asked, making me stay silent. "Exactly. I killed those people because one of their new member killed my best friend. The one person I could tolerate in this pathetic world."

He continued,"And after his death, I went to the pack to tell them what happened, but they didn't believe me. They said that I killed him, and I was covering my tracks. And I lost it."

"Carson, I know you miss being a vampire, but I'm your little sister. Are you really going to kill me for power?"

"I wish I didn't have to kill you, but not because you are my sister, Brooklyn. But because you are the only tribid on this planet. You would have been a great asset to me especially when I make my army," Carson explained, making my blood run cold.

Then he looked up at the full moon, and he smirked,"So you know that I'm stronger in the blood moon, but did you know you are weaker?"

"W-what?"

"The Blood Moon lasts for a few minutes meaning within those few minutes, you will be vulnerable. It is the only real weakness on a tribid."

Why didn't Melissa tell me this?

"Now," Carson continued, catching my attention,"I have some thing to prepare before our audience comes."

"Audience?" I asked, making him nod.

"My followers."

I didn't say anything else, and I looked up at the stars.

At least I'll be with my parents and Melissa.

An hour passed before people started showing up. Carson was beyond pleased, and that made me sick to my stomach.

When I guess everybody showed up, Carson walked up the three small stone steps to me.

"Ladies and gentlemen, this is a special occasion! This is the start of taking over the supernatural world!" Carson exclaimed, making the crowd clap and holler in agreement.

"Now, the Blood Moon starts in a few minutes, and that's when Brooklyn Jones will die!" He yelled to the crowd, making them shout and cheer.

Carson continued on with his speech, but he suddenly stopped when the wind started to pick up a little. He smiled, and I looked at the moon to see that it was starting to turn red.

My heart started beating faster, and I knew this was the end of the road for me.

Carson picked up the knife from the table before walking over to me. I struggled against the chains, but it was useless since I'm basically a human right now.

Carson raised the knife, waiting for the moon to be fully red.

And when it did, he asked,"No hard feelings right?"

"Go rot in hell," I replied, making him laugh.

"Goodbye, Brooklyn," he told me, bringing the knife down.

I closed my eyes, waiting for him to kill me. But it never came.

Instead, a gush of wind flew over me, and I heard the knife fall to the floor. Then yells and screams.

I opened my eyes to see the crowd fighting, but not each other. I saw Isabelle, Tyler, Julian, and Zoey fighting along with guards.

Relief washed over me, and I looked where Carson was just standing over me. He wasn't there, but instead, Grayson was trying to find something to get the chains off of me.

"Grayson," I said, making him turn around. "You came."

Grayson rushed over to me, and he said,"Of course I did. Come on, let's get you out of these chains."

As he started ripping off my chains, even thought it was burning him, I said,"Gray, Carson has his vampire and witch powers, and as long as the Blood Moon is out, I'm vulnerable."

His eyes widen in surprise, but he continued to take off the chains. Before Grayson could unchain my right wrist, which was the last thing holding my down to the table, he was knocked to the ground.

Carson was on top of him, punching him. Fear ran throughout my body as I stood up. I tried to pull off the last chain, but I was too weak.

Two vampires started walking up the steps, coming towards me. I looked around for something to defend myself.

The knife Carson had was on the other side of the table, and I threw myself across the table. I grabbed it off the floor just in time.

One of the vampire threw themselves at me, and I turned around to stab him. It wasn't a wooden stake, but it would hurt them.

As I removed the knife from the first body, the other vampire grabbed my ankle, and I threw the knife directly at him.

It hit him right in the chest, and he fell to the floor.

I looked back the crowd to see that Grayson was the one who was punching Carson before kicking him to the ground. Then Grayson quickly jumped up to me, and he broke the last chain.

Grayson wrapped an arm around my waist, and we ran to the grass where everybody was fighting.

Zoey and Julian were in their wolf forms, and it looked like we were winning.

Then I saw Carson.

And he didn't look happy.

"Grayson!" I yelled, but it was too late.

Carson already changed his spell, and the magic threw Grayson and myself against the trees.

Before I could even stand, Carson used his super speed to reach me. He grabbed me by the throat before throwing me away from the tree back towards the fight.

He didn't throw me far because he knows that I'm vulnerable so too much strength would kill me.

I groaned in pain as my side throbbed in pain. Carson cursed under his breath before kicking me in the ribs, making me fall on my back.

"Not so strong now, huh?" He asked, clearing enjoying my pain. He squatted down, putting his hand on my leg.

Then in a flash, he pushed down, breaking my leg. I screamed in pain, and he watched me, intently.

A growl made Carson snap his head away from me. I looked where he was looking, and I saw Grayson in his wolf form.

Carson straightened up right before Grayson charged at him. I heard yelps, growls, and fighting, but I was in too much pain to try and get up.

I found myself looking at the moon, and I noticed the moon was turning back to its original color.

Carson undoubtedly saw this too, and I heard a yelp from Grayson. Grayson was shaking his head, I guess from the punch Carson gave him.

Carson ran towards me, but Grayson pounced on him with a deep growl.

"You stupid mutt!" Carson yelled before chanting a spell.

I felt my body starting to heal, and I looked up to see that the moon was halfway red.

My leg was stinging anymore, and my ribs were starting to hurt less. I need these healing to hurry because Grayson can only hold Carson off for so long.

I slowly sat up to see what was going on around me. Grayson and Carson were fighting, and Grayson was winning.

But I looked to where everybody else was at, and Zoey was on the ground, struggling to get out of the vampire's grip. Tyler knows she's in danger, but he is fighting two vampires at the same time.

Isabelle and Julian were fighting together, but Isabelle ran over to Zoey to help her.

My leg felt healed, so I tried to stand up. When I did, both Carson and Grayson looked at me. Then Carson looked up at the Blood Moon to see that there is less than half of red left.

"No!" He yelled, throwing Grayson off of him like he was a piece of paper.

Grayson hit a tree, and I gasped in worry. But as soon as I looked back at Carson, he was already up in my face.

He grabbed my upper arm, and he used his super speed to take us to the table.

Only a few minutes.

Only a few minutes until I get my powers back, and I need to distract him until then.

Carson grabbed me by the waist before slamming me on the table, making me groan.

He grabbed the knife from the guy I threw it at, and I tried to scurry off the table. Carson grabbed my ankle before dragging me back towards him.

As soon as I got close to him, I turned around, and I slapped him in the face. His head snap to the side, and I kicked him with my other foot, pushing him away from me.

Then Grayson ran over to me, and I felt my powers. I felt stronger and powerful.

"No!" Carson yelled like a five year old.

And I know why.

The only chance he had at killing me is over. The Blood Moon was over.

"All I wanted was my power back!" Carson yelled, talking a step closer, making Grayson put me behind him.

"And you messed it all up!" He continued to yell, clearly anger.

"Give it up, Carson," Grayson said, calmly.

Carson lifted his scowl into a smile, and he looked directly at me.

Then he glanced over at Grayson, and I realized he still had the silver knife in his hand.

My eyes widen in fear, and everything happens in slow motion. Carson's grip tightened around the blade, and he used his super speed to reach Grayson faster.

Just like my vision.

I couldn't let this happen.

I used my super speed, and I got in front of Grayson. As soon as I did, Carson's stabbed me with the knife in the lower stomach.

Carson looked surprised that I jumped in front of Grayson.

Then he took the knife out which hurt so much worse than him stabbing me with it. I fell to my knees, holding the wound as blood poured out of it.

Silver doesn't affect me that much, but it still hurt like a bitch.

I took a few deep breaths as Grayson came over to me, trying to see the damage. When he did, I saw the anger and worry wash over his face.

"Aw. Young mate love. So stupid," Carson said, making us look at him. "I told you that love makes you weak."

Instead of responding, I stood up, leaning against the table for support. With a deep breath, I launched myself at Carson who didn't see me coming.

We both fell of the ledge, and onto the hard ground. I quickly jumped on top of him, and I grabbed his wrist.

He went to throw me off, but it was too late. I bit his wrist, making him scream in pain. His blood tasted bitter just like him.

Carson finally threw me off, and Grayson came to my side to help me up.

Carson stood up as he saw the blood pouring down his arm, and he looked at me.

"Love doesn't make you weak, and I wish you can see that," I said as his blood started to turn black.

"No!" He yelled as he dropped to his knees.

The rest of the group finished off the rest of Carson's followers, and they stood next to me and Grayson.

"Goodbye, Carson," I said, softly.

Carson took one more deep breath before his skin started cracking. All of us were surprised by this, and he exploded into a pile of dust.

It was finally over.
