It's Tuesday, and tomorrow is the Blood Moon Festival.
I haven't been able to sleep, and neither has Grayson. When the pack found out Alpha Alec was dead, all hell broke loose.
Some said that it was my fault while others blamed it on Carson.
As I walked passed a few women in the dining hall, I heard them whispering about me.
"She needs the death penalty. Just because she is Grayson's mate doesn't mean she doesn't get punished. If it were my mate who got Alpha Alec killed, he would be dead in a spilt second," the woman said, turning her nose in disgust.
"If we would have given her to Carson in the beginning, none of this would have happened," the other women sneered.
Anger and hurt boiled throughout my body. I spun around real fast, and I scowled at them. I felt my eyes shift, and the women look scared of me.
Before I could walk over to them, arms wrapped around my waist. Grayson's scent made my eyes shift back to normal, and I pursed my lips.
"Grayson, I'm fine," I replied as the women scurried away.
"Brooks, I can literally feel anger coming off of you so you are not fine," he replied, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear.
"Is there any leads on where Allison is?" I changed the subject.
Grayson shook his head, disappointed,"No, and the Blood Moon Festival is tomorrow night."
I sighed,"Gray, I need you to promise me something."
He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, and I pulled him out into the hallway.
I looked around to see that nobody was in the hall, and I licked my lips, nervously.
"I need you to promise me that if there is no other way, you will hand me over to Carson without a fight."
Grayson shook his head,"Nope. Not happening. He is not going to lay a hand on you tomorrow or the next day and so forth."
Tears built in the corners of my eyes, but I blinked them.
"You are going to have to. In order to keep Allison, you, and the pack safe, I'm going to have to turn myself in to Carson. I mean, look at what already happened, Grayson. Your father is dead because of Carson trying to get me. I can't...I won't let him hurt anybody else."
"We will figure out a way. I know we will," Grayson said in disbelief.

"We are running out of time. If I don't turn myself in, Allison is going to die."
"What about your vision? You said that we made a plan."
I told Grayson yesterday about the vision I had of him and Carson talking at the fair.
"Did you forget the part where you die?"
"The future changes all the time," he argued, running a hand through his hair.
"Yes, and that's why I'm saying no to that plan," I answered with a shake of my head.
"Brooklyn, we don't have another choice!" Grayson yelled, making it go silent in the dining hall.
Even though we were in the hallway, everybody in the dining hall could hear him yell.
Grayson took a couple deep breaths trying to calm himself.
"I'm not letting you die, Grayson. End of discussion," I simply told him before walking upstairs to his bedroom.
I slammed the door shut behind me, upset that Grayson isn't listening to me.
I can't loose him.
I can't.
I lost my parents, and that almost broke me. If I lose my mate, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
I curled up on the bed, trying to calm myself down before I have a meltdown.
My emotions have heightened a lot since my witch side came out, and it can get a little hard to control.
I heard the door open, and I kept facing the wall. I didn't want to start another argument right now with Grayson.
"Grayson, I'm not going to argue about this anymore," I said out loud.
But that's when I realized that it wasn't Grayson.
It wasn't his scent.
Instead, it smelled like a vampire.
I quickly turned to see a guy and a girl standing at the doorway. As soon as I got up, the guy used his super speed, and he grabbed me by the throat, tightly, pushing me against the wall.
"Kylie, keep watch," the guy told the girl, making her nod before walking back outside the door, shutting the door behind her. "You smell sweet for a tribid. It's devouring. I don't think Carson would mind if I take a sip."
Then in a flash, his fangs appeared, and he bit my neck. Quickly, I snapped his wrist that was holding my throat.
He yelped in pain, and he released me. I then kicked him in the lower stomach before grabbing him and throwing him into the glass mirror that was hanging on the wall.

The guy groaned, and the door opened revealing the girl, Kylie. She realized what was going on, and I heard worried voices downstairs.
The guy and Kylie both charged at me, and I grabbed them both by the throats before throwing them into the hallway. They both hit the wall, making all the pictures fall and hit the floor.
I growled, and footsteps were running up the stairs. I grabbed the vampires by their neck, and I threw them over the railing. They both hit the glass table, which shattered into a millions little pieces.
Grayson, Tyler, and Julian were the ones racing up the stairs, and they stared at me wide eyed.
Four guards grabbed the vampires, putting them in ravine chains.
"Oh my moon goddess, Brooklyn, you're bleeding," Grayson said as soon as he got close to me.
He touched my neck where the guy bite me. Vampire bites effect me as much as werewolf bites. They don't kill me, but it hurts like hell.
"Carson sent them to get me which means that there will be more behind these two. We need to send everybody in safe houses until we can destroy Carson," I explained, making Grayson look me in my eyes.
"They didn't even smell like vampires. They smelt likes wolves," Julian informed me, making my eyebrows furrow in confusion.
"You sure?" I asked him before saying,"Because they reek. I thought it was you, Grayson, but the scent told me otherwise."
"They must have disguised their scent because it kinda smelt like you when we first met you," Tyler said, making the eyes go wide.
Melissa made that scent for me. Don't get wrong, other witches and warlocks can make it, but that one was especially made for me.
And Melissa went to her house to grab some of her books to find a way to take down Carson without me sacrificing myself.
"Oh no. We need to get to Melissa now," I said, running down the stairs.
"Why? What's wrong?" Julian asked me.
"Melissa made me a specific spray to cover my scent. If they smelt like me when I used that, that means they got their hands on it which means they went to Melissa's house."
They nodded, running behind me. Zoey and Isabelle followed in suit, and we all jumped into a vehicle.
Instead of a thirty minute drive, it was a fifteen minute drive. As soon as Grayson put the car in park, I jumped out, running into the house.
But I wished I haven't.
Glass was littered everywhere and the dining table was flipped. I walked into the living room, and the tv was broken and the couches were ripped apart.
That's when I saw blood on the floor. My eyes widen, and I followed it to Melissa's witchcraft room.
Her books were thrown all over the floor, and the drawers were pulled out. But no Melissa.
I took a deep breath before listening for a heartbeat.
I heard my friends' heartbeats, but then I heard a weak heart that was barely beating. Melissa was in my room.
I ran out of the room and up the stairs to my room. When I first entered my room, it didn't look like my room.
My mattress was off the bed frame, and my desk was turned over. My clothes were thrown all over the floor, and I saw Melissa sitting against the wall, barely breathing.
She had a bite mark on her neck, and she was holding her stomach where there was a lot of blood.
"Oh my...-" my voice broke as I raced to her side.
"Brooklyn....." she said, slowly.
"Melissa, you are going to be okay," I said, trying to convince her and myself.
Melissa gave me a sad smile before shaking her head.
Tears looked in my eyes, and she said,"I'm going to be....at peace."
"Melissa, please," I begged her,"I can't lose you, too. Please don't leave me."
Melissa drew her hand up, slowly, and she wiped away my tears.
"Brooklyn......Carson can't survive a tribid bite. If you bite him, he'll die, but he will be stronger during the Blood Moon."
I nodded as she smiled at me. Then she said,"I'm so proud of you, Brooklyn. I......love....you."
"I love you," I cried as she took her last breath.
I sobbed as he hand slipped from my face to the ground.
Melissa is dead, and it's because of Carson. Carson killed my parents, Carson killed Alpha Alec, and he killed Melissa.
Anger boiled throughout my body, and all I could think about is killing Carson.
"Brooklyn," Grayson warned behind me.
The window was open, and I threw myself out the window, landing gracefully on my feet. Then I ran towards the woods, leaving Grayson and the group behind me.
Grayson was right.
The future can change, and I'm going to change it right now.
