For the last ten minutes, I have been looking at Grayson who was still asleep. I traced my finger along his jawline, admiring it.
Grayson groaned, pulling me in closer. I smiled, and he cracked his eyes open.
"Good morning, beautiful," Grayson whispered, drawing circles under my shirt on my back.
"Morning. Do you know you snore when you are in a deep sleep?" I asked with a smile.
"Well, at least I don't talk in my sleep."
"I do not!" I exclaimed, making him chuckle.
"I love you," he said before bopping his nose with mine.
"I love you, too," I replied, bopping his nose back.
"How did you sleep?"
I shrugged, and he raised an eyebrow at me. "I slept for two hours, but I woke and I couldn't go back to sleep."
"You need rest, Brooklyn. You are stressing yourself over Carson."
"Grayson, I can't rest. Carson is either going to kill me or the people I love, and there is no other way around it."
"So what are you saying? You want to give yourself to Carson to be killed?"
I shook my head,"I don't want to, but what other choice do I have?"
He stayed silent, and I said,"Exactly."
"I will find another way to beat him. He will not lay a hand on you," Grayson replied before his phone starting dinging from text messages.
He didn't even give it a glance.
"Gray, your phone is going off," I informed him, making him shrug.
"I know, Brooks. I'm just not answering," he responded with a smile.
"What if it's important?" I asked him as he tucked a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"They'll call me," he replied before giving me a quick kiss on the lips.
The dinging ended, but only for a few minutes. Whoever it was kept sending messages, and Grayson answered it, and his eyes widen.
"What's wrong?" I asked him after he ended typed something back.
"That was Allison. Something is going on with the pack. Everybody is waking up sick as a dog," he informed me as he got out of the bed.

"Carson," I said, making him nod.
"I wouldn't put it passed him," he said, throwing a t-shirt.
"I'm coming with you," I told him, pushing the blankets off of me.
He shook his head,"No. You need to stay here."
"Gray, I'm a tribid. This virus isn't going to affect me."
"We don't know that for sure. You are staying here while I go figure out how to fix this," Grayson said, opening my bedroom door.
"This is my pack, too, you know."
Grayson sighed before walking over to me. He wrapped an arm around my waist, and he gave me a kiss on the forehead.
"I know, but I need you to be safe. If this is because of Carson, he is going to be expecting you to show up. I love you so much, and I'll be back in a few hours. Stay inside and do not leave, please."
I nodded,"I love you. Please be careful."
And with that he was out of the door, leaving me by myself.

I didn't want to leave her alone, but Melissa said that the house was protected with wards.
The only people that can get in would be me, Allison, Tyler, Isabelle, Caleb, Zoey, and Julian.
Unless Melissa invited somebody in of course.
I tried to call Allison to see who is all sick, and what's all going on, but she wouldn't answer.
I was about to call somebody else, but I lost service so it was no use.
Once I made it to my house, I quickly parked my car. Then I rushed in, looking for anybody. Nobody was there so I got back in my car, heading to the pack house.
A few minutes later, I arrived at the pack house, anxious to see what's happening.
I may or may not have went past the speed limit.
Walking into the pack house, I noticed that there are a few people watching a football game, acting like nothing is happening.
I furrowed my eyebrows, confused on why they aren't helping the sick.

Before I could say anything, Tyler walked in the room with a bowl fill of popcorn.
"Hey, Gray, whatcha doing here?" Tyler asked me before popping a piece of popcorn in his mouth.
"How bad is the virus? Why are you guys just laying around?" I asked, immediately.
Tyler raised an eyebrow,"Are you high or something?"
I shook my head,"No! I was told there was a virus going around making everybody sick."
"Who told you that?"
"Allison. She texted me."
"Grayson, there is no virus. We," he gestured around the room,"are off shift for a few hours."
I shook my head,"But Allison texted me."
"Well, let's go find her and see what's going on. Maybe she's high."
Tyler put the popcorn down, and we went to look for everybody.
Eventually we found them outside, studying for a school test.
To be honest, school is the least of my worries at the moment.
"Allison!" I exclaimed, catching their attention.
Tyler and I walked over to them, and they all stood up.
"What's up?" Allison asked, pulling her sweatshirt over her shirt.
"Are you high or something because last time I check there is no virus going around right now?" Tyler asked, making Isabelle laugh.
"What are you guys talking about?" Allison asked, smiling.
"You texted me an hour ago saying that there was a virus going around and everybody was getting very sick," I answered, making them drop their smiles.
Allison shook her head,"No I didn't."
I nodded,"Yes you did."
"No, Grayson, I didn't. I haven't touched my phone. It's upstairs in my room."
Yes we each have a room in the pack house in case something happens.
"Why don't we go look at the phone to see?" Zoey suggested, nervously.
I nodded,"That is a great idea."
We walked inside and up the stairs to Allison's room.
I know that she sent it, and she is annoying me by saying she didn't.
We walked inside her room, and Allison handed me her phone.
I opened the message app, and I clicked on our conversation.
And sure enough those messages were there. I showed her and the group.
"I don't have a clue who sent those because I sure as hell didn't," Allison replied, crossing her arms across her chest.
"If you didn't send them, who did?" Julian asked, making everybody go silent.
Why would someone send me a message from Allison's phone?
Then Caleb's eyes widen.
"Oh my moon goddess," Caleb said with a shake of his head. "It can't be."
"Caleb, who do you think did it?" I asked, making him glance up at me.
"Earlier this morning, I ran into Alpha Alec. He asked me when my birthday was," Caleb answered, running a hand through his hair.
"Okay. What does that have to do with Allison's phone?" Isabelle asked, looking over at Allison.
"Because Caleb's birthday is my password to my phone," she said, pale faced.
"But why would Alpha Alec send a message to Grayson? That doesn't make any sense considering he has his own phone," Julian said, clearing his throat.
Julian is right. This doesn't make any sense.
Why would my father text me from my sister phone saying there was a virus hurting people?
Then everything clicked in my head.
"So I would leave Brooklyn alone," I answered, making everybody shocked. "He would do anything for the pack, and I bet money that Carson knew that and used it against him. All he has to do is bring Brooklyn to him. He made up this distraction to get me away from Brooklyn so he could give her to Carson."
"We have to get to Brooklyn now," Allison said, making everybody nod in agreement.
I hope we make it before he gives her to Carson.
