Before I could even scream, Carson chanted a spell, and I was pushed up against the wall with invisible bounds around my wrists and ankles.

"If you scream, I won't hesitate to kill your lover. Grayson, right?" Carson asked as he began to twirl the knife once more.

"Leave him out of this," I replied, struggling against the bounds.

"That's no use. My power is stronger than yours."

"Why are you here?"

"What? I can't come visit my sister once in a while?" Carson asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Not when you are trying to kill me," I fired back, making him chuckle.

"Sarcastic just like good ole Dad," Carson chuckled, staring at the spinning knife.

"Don't talk about my father. You have no right," I said, angrily.

Carson slammed the knife down, and he was in my face within a second.

"I might have killed him, but he was still my father, too. Don't make me kill you right here," Carson threatened, clenching his fists at his sides.

I laughed in his face. "You won't kill me right here. You have to wait for the blood moon. And if you do kill me right now, you will never regain your vampire side."

Carson looked amused. "Finally, somebody who is not terrified of me."

I rolled my eyes, and Carson continued. "That's why I'm here actually."

I furrowed my eyebrows,"What?"

"Brooklyn, when I kill you on the blood moon, I can bring you back to life," Carson explained with a proud smile.

"That's impossible."

"And you thought tribids were impossible, too, but yet, here you are," Carson reminded me before adding,"I can do it. I can do anything. All I ask in return is for you to rule the supernatural world with me."

"I thought you hated my guts."

Carson shrugged,"I do, but you are the only tribid alive. People will be scared of you, and they will bow down to you. Plus I'll spare your lover and his pack. All you have to do is agree."

"And if I don't?" I asked.

Carson's wicked smile disappeared. "I will kill you then your friends, but I'll keep your lover alive. Make him feel the pain of loosing a soulmate. That's worse than actually dying. So what do you want to do?"

"Neither. I will kill you, and I will protect my friends and Grayson."

Carson's eyes widen. "Your friends are here. I could just go and kill them so you can change your mind."

I shook my head as I struggled against his magic. "No. Carson, don't!" I felt my eyes shift, and Carson stood there, watching my eyes.

"I won't tonight. I have just arrived, and I don't want to spoil the fun," Carson told me before whispering in my ear. "But if I were you, I would take my offer. I'm not nice often. Don't take advantage of it."

Then he was pushed off of me, and Carson went flying into the glass sliding door. I gasped as I saw Grayson standing in front of me, protecting me.

Carson stood up from the ground, and he wiped off the glass that was all over his clothes. Then at least ten wolves came out from the woods. They were apart of Grayson's pack.

Carson laughed, darkly. "I want an answer by Wednesday at midnight, Brooklyn. And if you need some help deciding, here you go."

In a flash, Carson threw the knife he had, and it hit Grayson. My mouth opened, and I watched as Grayson fell to the ground.

"Grayson!" I screamed.

"And that's just a taste of what I'll do. Choose wisely little sister," Carson said as the group of wolves started running to him.

Carson raised his hand up in a fist, and he slammed it down to the ground. A black orb formed around Carson, throwing all of the wolves back.

Within a second, the orb fell, and Carson was gone. My bounds were gone, and I fell to the floor. I quickly crawled to Grayson who was wincing in pain.

"Grayson, I'm so sorry. Everything is going to be okay, I promise."

There was already a puddle of dark red blood around Grayson, and his pulse was weakening.

"What the hell is going on?" Melissa asked, coming down the hall.

"Melissa, help! Grayson is bleeding out," I told Melissa as I put pressure around the knife to stop the bleeding.

"Where did this knife come from?" Melissa asked me, noticing the knife.

"I-I don't know. Carson had it," I said, holding my tears back.

"Brooklyn, this is an enchanted knife. Keep holding the pressure while I go get my book," Melissa informed me before leaving me.

"Brooks-..." Grayson whispered.

"Save your breath, Grayson. You need all of your strength. Okay?" I said as tears rolled down my cheeks.

"Here it is!" Melissa yelled as she ran back to us.

She opened the book, and she scanned the pages.

"Melissa, hurry!" I exclaimed as Grayson's eyes closed.

"Brooklyn, let him bleed out," Melissa told me, making me shake my head.

"No! Why the hell would you suggest that?!" I yelled, angrily.

"Because he has to die! That is a dark magic enchanted knife! He has to die so the spell can be broken! After his heart stops, we can get the knife out and I can start his heart again," Melissa quickly explained.

"Is this going to work?" I asked her, loosening on the pressure around the knife.

"I hope so."

I took a deep breath, and I took my hands off of Grayson. Melissa and I sat there, and after a couple of minutes, his heartbeat stopped.

"Now, Melissa!" I said before taking out the knife.

I could feel the pain of loosing my soulmate, but I pushed it aside.

Melissa chanted a spell, and she clapped her hands together, and hit Grayson's chest.

His heartbeat was still not beating.

"Melissa," I warned, getting anxious.

Melissa re-chanted the spell, and did the exact same steps. Grayson's heart wasn't not beating. Melissa did it again. But it didn't work.

"Brooklyn," Melissa said, softly. "I'm so sorry."

I took in a deep painful breath, and I let it out in a loud sob. The whole house shook, and Melissa looked around worriedly.

"Grayson, wake up! Grayson!" I sobbed into his chest.

"Brooklyn-..." Melissa started, but I shook my head.

"No!" I exclaimed, shaking my head. "He is not dead! Come on Grayson! Get up!"

"Sweetie," Melissa tried to comfort me.

"Give me the book! I'm a dark witch! I can bring him back to life," I said before Melissa gave me the book.

"Brooklyn, if you do this, your witch side will not have an inch of dormant. That means Carson can kill you," Melissa warned me.

"I don't care. I'm getting Grayson back," I told her, wiping my tears.

Melissa nodded, and I quietly recited the spell. I closed my eyes and chanted the spell. I raised my hands up, and I put them together. After opening my eyes, I hit Grayson's chest.

Pure white electricity went around me and Melissa and into Grayson's chest.

My whole body felt like I was standing in a cloud. I felt powerful, and I liked it.

Grayson's eyes popped open, and he gasped for air. I took a deep breath of relief, and I smiled to see that he was okay.

"Brooklyn, what happened?" Grayson asked, looking down at his wound spot. The spell healed his wound.

"It doesn't matter. You're okay," I said before hugging him. He hugged me back, and I kissed the side of his head.

Thank the moon goddess.

During the hug, I felt a burning sensation on my wrist. I pulled back from Grayson, and I stared down at my left wrist.

"What's wrong?" Grayson asked me also looking at my wrist.

"My wrist is burning," I hissed.

"You're getting your mark showing you are a dark witch," Melissa informed me.

"Ah!" I exclaimed, making Grayson grab ahold of my hand.

A few minutes after the burning pain, it finally stopped. On my wrist was now a black crescent moon. It has swirls, and it was small but very noticeable. There was bruising around my vein.

"Well, that is badass," Grayson commented, rubbing his fingers over it.

"It looks like a tattoo," I replied, examining it.

"Grayson, it is best that you and Brooklyn tell your parents and your pack the whole truth. Brooklyn is a full tribid, and there is no hiding that anymore," Melissa informed us.

Grayson nodded,"I'll call a pack meeting. Let me go contact my parents."

He walked out of the living room, leaving Melissa and I alone.

"Brooklyn, do you feel any different?" Melissa asked me, crossing her arms over her chest.

I shrugged,"I feel...powerful. I felt electricity running through my veins. Is that normal?"

Melissa nodded,"Yes. Say do you feel any darkness? You just brought back a dead man. Dark magic is complicated, Brooklyn, and you just said it like it was nothing."

I shook my head,"No. I feel fine."

"Alright. If you feel any, let me know."

I nodded,"I will."

"I'm going to make some coffee. We are going to need it since there is a war coming."
