《His Hybrid Mate | COMPLETED》20.

The vision made me sick all day. I told Grayson that it is just allergies, but he is trying to make me go to the pack doctor.

And I'm still upset with him about not telling his parents about me.

"Brooklyn," Grayson said, knocking on the door. "I know that you are still mad at me, but I need a change of clothes. I have to be at the pack house in a few minutes."

Getting off his bed, I opened the door to see him leaning against the doorway. His eyes lit up when he saw me.

I walked back to his bed, and I sat down while he walked into his room. He walked into his closet for his clothes.

"Why do you have to be at the pack house?" I asked him as he grabbed a pair of jeans.

"I have to interrogate Cassandra. The rest of the group is already there, waiting on me," Grayson explained, throwing a shirt over his shoulder.

"Can I come?" I asked Grayson who walked out of the closet.

He shook his head,"No."

I scowled,"Why not?"

"Because I said so," Grayson shot back before entering the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.

Who is he to tell me that I can't go? I have every right to be in that room when he interrogates Cassandra.

Two minutes later, Grayson walked out of the bathroom fully dressed. He grabbed his shoes off the ground, and he sat at the end of his bed.

"Look, after I'm done at the pack house, we can go out for dinner with milkshakes," Grayson suggested, putting his shoes on his feet.

"I'm still mad at you," I replied, crossing my arms against my chest.

He sighed before walking over to me. He sat down in front of me, and he held my hands gently.

"I didn't tell my parents about you being a hybrid because I was scared of what they would do. Your kind isn't exactly welcome in many territories. I was scared they would make you leave," Grayson said as his thumb stroke one of my hands.

His dark blue eyes glanced up at me, making my breath hitched.

"I'm not gonna leave you, Gray. If I would have left town, I would have been back for you. It kills me just thinking about leaving you," I told him, honestly.

"Forgive and forget?" Grayson asked, making me nod.

"Forgive and forget," I told him with a tiny smile.

He leaned in, and he kissed me on the lips. I kissed him back, and he used one of his hands to hold my face. I leaned back against the pillows as the kiss deepened.

Then a phone rang, making Grayson pull away. He grabbed his phone out of his pocket, and he answered it.

"What's up?" Grayson asked to whoever was on the phone. "What? Alright, alright. We will be there in a few." He ended the call, and he put his phone back in his pocket.

"That was Allison. Cassandra won't talk. She only wants to talk to you," Grayson told me, making my eyes widen.

"Why? She does know that you guys will be in there too, right?" I asked him as he got off of me.

"I don't know. I know Cassandra, though, and if she doesn't get her way, nobody does," Grayson told me as I got out of the bed.

"I don't have my perfume. It hides the vampire scent."

Grayson was silent for a moment before moving to the bathroom. He grabbed a can, and he walked back into the bedroom.

"Here. This should cover you," Grayson said before spraying me with his cologne.

"Okay, I think that's enough. I don't think my lungs can handle anymore," I said, coughing.

He sniffed the air, and he said,"All I smell is my cologne."

He walked back into the bathroom as I put my shoes on. I threw my hair up in a ponytail since I haven't brushed it today. My outfit, Grayson's red shirt, and a pair of leggings, was okay.

"Come on," Grayson said, opening his door.

I followed him to his car. He opened the passenger door for me, and I thanked him before getting into the passenger seat. He shut my door before walking around to his side.

Once we were both in the car, he started the engine. He drove away from his house, and I looked out the window.

"Look, nobody in the pack knows I have a mate except my parents and the group. That means a lot of unmated guys will be trying to flirt with you. Just stick close to me, and they won't bother you," Grayson told me after a few minutes of driving.

"Okay," I said as he turned onto a paved road. He stopped at the big black gate, and he pressed a few buttons on a metal thing.

Within a few seconds, the gate opened, and Grayson drove around it. Trees were overbearing. Grayson drove down the road for a couple of minutes before a massive house came in view.

I sat there in awe as I admired the house. There was the main house with at least fifteen bedrooms, and there was a mini house, which was also big, that probably has a lot of bedrooms too.

"Wow," I mumbled, and Grayson smiled.

"Yeah. You should see how much acres of land we have. You can run all night and still be on our land," Grayson said, parking his car.

I opened my door, and I got out of the car, shutting the door behind me. Grayson was by my side within seconds.

"Let's go," he said before walking around the house.

I furrowed my eyebrows, but I followed him anyways. Halfway around the house, he stopped at two small doors on the ground. He lifted them up, and he looked back at me.

"Please watch your step. The ladder is slick," Grayson warned before walking down the ladder.

I followed after him, and I almost slipped twice. Once I was on the ground, I looked around. It was a dungeon with multiple cells.

"The interrogation room is this way," Grayson said, walking forward.

At the end of the hall was a steel door, and Grayson opened it. The rest of the group was in the room, and Cassandra sat at the table, handcuffed.

"Brooklyn Jones. Nice to see you again," Cassandra said with a wicked smile.

A shiver went through my body, and I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Enough, Cassandra. Tell us why you tried to kill Brooklyn?" Grayson asked her, sitting down.

"I'm not answering your questions, Grayson. This is between Brooklyn and I," Cassandra told him, glancing over at him.

Grayson looked at me, and I gave him a nod.

"Why did you try to kill me?" I asked her, sitting down next to Grayson.

"Because I was trying to save the supernatural world. With you out of the picture, everything would be fine," Cassandra answered.

"How do you know Carson?" I asked her.

"My grandmother told me stories about him. About how he killed entire villages of werewolves just because he wanted too."

"Do you know why Carson wants me dead?"

She let out a humorless laugh,"Melissa hasn't told you? This is going to be fun."

"Tell me what?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"There was only one way Carson would be able to break the curse his mother placed upon him. He needed a heart of a tribid who also shared his blood," Cassandra said, making everybody stand still.

No. No. No.

"W-what? You're lying. There is not way that I'm a tribid," I said, shaking my head.

"Tribids are myths. There is no such thing," Tyler said, looking at me.

"Hunny, they're real. You have one right here," Cassandra argued, pointing at me.

I feel sick to my stomach. I couldn't be a tribid. I haven't showed any witch powers.

"How is that even possible?" Isabelle asked her, stepping forward.

"Brooklyn's father was a dark witch before he was turned into a vampire. That magic never died. His vampire side just overpowered it."

"Oh my moon goddess," Zoey muttered with a shocked look on her face.

"If Brooklyn was a tribid, why hasn't Carson tried to kill her?" Caleb asked Cassandra.

"He already tried, but Brooklyn wasn't a full tribid," Cassandra said, quietly. She stared me in my eyes, and I froze.

The fire. He was there. He was the one who killed my parents.

Tears built in my eyes, but I didn't let them fall.

"I don't understand. Why would he wait until now?" Allison asked her, walking up to the table.

"As long as Brooklyn's witch side is being overpowered, she isn't a full tribid. Carson can't kill her if she isn't a full tribid. The curse won't be broken. He didn't know that until that horrible night many years ago."

After she said that, I walked out of the interrogation room. I used my super speed to climb up the ladder, and I started pacing back and forth trying to relive some frustration.

"Brooks," Grayson said, softly, as he tried to touch my shoulder.

"Don't touch me right now," I warned him, glaring at him.

"Brooklyn, you need to calm down. Your eyes are silver," Isabelle said, climbing out of the hole. Everybody else in the group followed her, and Caleb shut the doors, locking them.

"This can't be happening," I said as I tried to keep my breathing normal.

"So what you are a tribid? Why are you so upset over this?" Grayson asked me, making me stop walking.

"Because he was after me! This whole time I thought it was just a rogue attack, but it wasn't! Carson killed my parents in front of me!" I exclaimed.

"Don't beat yourself up about their deaths, Brooklyn. It wasn't your fault," Zoey said, stepping forward.

"I need to be alone right now," I said, quietly, clenching my fists.

"Alright. We'll be inside if you need anything," Grayson said, looking back at our friends.

They nodded, and they all walked inside, leaving me alone. Once I knew I was alone, I fell to my knees.

I thought about how my mother use to sing me a lullaby every night and how my father and I used to read together.

I sat there for at least an hour. I was about to stand up and walk inside when I heard commotion coming from the doors leading to the dungeon.

My eyebrows furrowed, and the doors burst open revealing Cassandra screaming in pain.

Before I could get up, she jumped on top of me, holding down my wrists so tight they were bleeding. I tried to fight her off, but she was stronger than me.

"How?" I mumbled as I struggled in her grip.

"Hello, sister," Cassandra said as her eyes turned white.

"Carson? How?" I asked as I heard people coming outside.

Cassandra, aka Carson, smirked,"I'm coming for you little sister. I'm going to destroy everything you love before ending you."

"Get off her!" I heard Grayson yell as he ran towards us.

"See you soon," Carson said, letting go of my wrists.

Then it was Cassandra again, but she started coughing up blood. She got off of me, and Grayson helped me to my feet.

"Are you okay? What the hell happened?" Grayson asked me, but I kept my eyes on Cassandra.

She glanced up at me, and blood started leaking from her eyes. Then her eyes rolled in the back of her head, and she fell to the ground, not breathing.

"Holy shit," I heard Caleb say.

"Carson is coming. He coming for all of us."
