And that's why I'm in Florida right now. Uncle Brody thought it would be best for my and the pack's protection to send me to one of my Mom's best friends far away from the pack which was in California.

Getting off the plane, I rubbed my eyes. I'm exhausted and upset, and all I want is to go to sleep. Adjusting my backpack on my bag, I nearly fell over.

I continued to walk towards where they keep the bags. I picked up my two suitcases, and I pulled the handle out so it would be easier for me to walk.

I don't even know who this woman is. I never met her, and Uncle Brody is sending me off to live with her.

I stepped onto the escalator, and I looked at all of the people at the end of the escalator. Some people were hugging, others were talking, but they were mostly hugging.

Then I saw a brunette hair women holding a sign that had my name on it. She looked like she was in her early forties or late thirties. She was average height for a woman, and she smiled when she saw me.

"You must be Brooklyn. I'm Melissa," she introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you," I replied with a right smile.

"You look just like your mother well expect for the eyes of course," she said, looking me over. "Here let me take that," she offered, pointing to one of my suitcases.

"I can do it, but thank you."

She nodded, and we walked outside to the parking lot. She stopped walking when we passed a silver car. She took her keys out of her pocket, and she hit the unlock button.

"You can put your stuff in the trunk," she said, popping the trunk open.

I put the suitcases in the trunk without a problem, and I shut it. The I walked to the passenger door, and I opened it. I slid in the seat, and I buckled the seatbelt.

She started the engine, and we drove off to her house. The sun was shining brightly today, but it wasn't hot outside. It was actually pretty cool outside.

"February in Florida is very cool. It only gets up to the seventies," Melissa said, reading my thoughts.

"How did you-"

"Know what you were thinking?" She finished, and I nodded. "I'm a witch, dear. I can hear thoughts."

My mouth opened in surprised. I knew she was involved with the supernatural world, but I didn't think she was a witch. I thought she mated with a werewolf or something.

The rest of the ride was quiet another than the music playing on the radio. Forty minutes later, we passed a sign.

Welcome to North Bay!

This must be the town she lives in. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her nod her head. My eyes widen and I looked away.

Ten more minutes passed until she parked in front of a white house. The roof was triangle shaped. The shutters were black, and there was plants by the steps. It looked welcoming. (Pic up top!)

I grabbed my suitcases from the trunk before following Melissa into the house. When we walked in the first thing I saw was the living room.

Then the 'dining room' was on the other side of the living room, but it was turned into an office.

"I work as an interior designer during the day and witch by night," Melissa said, noticing that I was looking into her office.

She continued to walk down the hallway, and we passed the kitchen which was average sized for a one story house.

"Now, this house only has two rooms, and I turned one room into a witch room. But I turned the attic into a bedroom with some help from some spells," Melissa said, pulling a string down to reveal stairs leading up to the attic.

I followed her up the steps to the attic, and I dropped my suitcases when I walked into the room.

The first thing I noticed was the bay window. It had gray pillows on it, it it was white. Then the bed was in the middle of the room, and there was a white nightstand with a golden lamp on it. There was a white chair by the wall by the bay window. There was a creme color rug on the floor, and there was a white dressers right next to the bay window. There was even drawers under the bay window. And lastly a white desk against the same wall as the chair.

"I love it. Thank you."

She waved it off,"Don't worry about it. I'll leave you to unpack your things while I go make dinner. And your textbooks for school are in the desk."

I turned around to face her,"School?"

She nodded,"North Bay High School. You start Monday."

"Awesome," I lied.

She walked down the steps, and I was left alone. I'm actual going to a public high school. How in the hell did that happen?

Uncle Brody knows that I could lose control any second. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, and I dialed his number.

"What's wrong, Brookie? Do I need to book a flight? Are you okay?" Was the first thing I heard when he picked up on the second ring.

"Yes. I just wanted you to know that I made it safety."

He let out a deep breath,"Thank the moon goddess."

"Don't thank her just yet."

"What do you mean?"

I sighed,"Putting me in public school? Are you crazy? What happens if I lose control? And I hurt somebody? Or worse I could-"

"Brooklyn, you need to calm down. I think you are ready to go to public school. I know that it's February, and it's your senior year, but you should experience some high school experience."

"But what if-"

"Nothing is going to happen. Plus the school I'm putting you into is filled with one of our allies; The Silver Moon Pack."

I let out of a breath of air of relief,"That is actually really-"

"But they won't know that you are a hybrid," he finished.

"What?!" I exclaimed.

"If they found out you were a hybrid, you would be the talk of the town. And those people that were after you are still out there. You need to lay low for a little while, and enjoy life. You're seventeen, still a teenager."

I crossed my arms a crossed my chest,"But aren't they going to smell me? I smell like a vampire and a werewolf."

"And that's why Melissa is going to give you this potion to spray on yourself so you smell like a human. See no biggee."

"You could have told all of this to me before I left," I said.

"Well, you only had two hours before you're flight, and I didn't want you to miss it."

"Okay. Whatever. I'll call you later," I said, closing my eyes.

"Bye, Brookie. And if you need anything you call me."

"Yeah I got it, Bye Uncle Brody," I said before hanging up the phone.

It was around 6, and the sun was setting. I decided to start unpacking my things so I could get ready for dinner.

I unpacked all of my clothes, putting them in the closet. Then I unpacked my other stuff like my MacBook, my bathroom stuff which I had to go downstairs to unpack, some of my favorite books, and a photo that is in a photo frame of me and my parents.

I hung the picture on the wall before moving to my desk. I put my books in the one of the drawers. Then I put my MacBook on the top.

I heard Melissa downstairs, dropping pans and pots. I even heard her say some words that you would not say in a church.

"Brooklyn, dinner is ready!" Melissa yelled.

"Coming!" I yelled back.

I stood up from my desk chair, and I walked down the steps. Here I come, regular teenage life.
