《ZER》THIRTY ONE

I take a step back with hands covering my mouth.

To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part.

My head lifts up as I hear Zer's voice in my head. His body is completely black.

Are you still holding onto your vow, wife?

All eyes are on the dead Tzarian female, all councilmen are on their feet as they look at the lifeless body on the floor.

"Yes," I tell him.

"Shoot him!" I hear a shout and the six Tzarian male pull their triggers.

I see bright bullets hanging in the air. A gasp comes out from my mouth, and fear from people around me. Zer shakes his body and whatever binds him brake loose as if he just shook off the dust of his body. I see the room is filled with armed guards firing at him.

All bullets are suspended in the air.

And instantly, I cannot breathe.

He's controlling the time around us. Everything stops as he holds his power on us. The air stops, the time stops, even I feel as if my blood stops circulating.

I can't breathe. I try to tell him with my mind, as soon as I think of that, I feel like my limbs are mine again to control. I fall on my knees as I take a deep breath.

Get behind me.

I heard him in my head, I waste no time to walk as fast as I could to him, stumbling here and there. My legs are heavy, I feel like I'm trying to move against an invisible barrier to get to him, but as soon as my hand gripping his cloth I feel better. So much better. I round my arms on his hips and cry in relief.

One should not be punished for things they have no control with.

I know Zer is talking to all of us in our head.

I didn't choose to be born as the descendent of the Tar-Zenirian. Neither did I ask to have the power.

He let go of the time and everyone is gasping for air.

The faces of the councilmen are dark in fury. "It's against the law to practice such power! Tar-Zenirians are wiped from the history of the danger they possessed!"

We possess.

I hear him answer.

In every Tzarian I can feel each one of your powers, but you choose to suppress it.

All of Tzarian gasps. When I turn around I can see Lor's face paled from Zer's words.

I choose to master it. Zer speaks again.

He turns around and lets everyone in the room have a good look at his face. Suddenly his clothes catch fire and turned into dust, I squealed and jump back before his arm catches me.

Instead of layers of clothes now I can see something covering his body. It's as black as his skin and molds into perfection to his body.

Whoever wishes to reveal our true power and purpose in this life, shall join me to leave this planet.

He faces me and holds his palms on my face.

My power can never hurt you. Suddenly his hands are on fire, the blue and red ribbons licking my skin, but before I can move away his hold on me tightens.

I'm unharmed.

You are my power.

The walls and ceiling are covers in blue fire melting everything within reach, people are screaming and scattering as the four walls disappear, the bright sunlight comes to us and the wind blows to take away any remaining smoke.

He turns to the five councilmen and engages in a private conversation with them in their heads, all of their eyes are widen and their bodies shake, their jaws clench and their hands are fisted. With that, he holds my hand in his and guided me outside.

It's time for us to leave, wife.

He lower himself and swoop me to his arms, just the way he did it when we just got married. I think he remembers because as I rest my head on his chest, his face rubs my head.

I love you.

"I love you more," I reply.
