《The Teacher's Beta》Chapter 16

Finn
I was anxiously awaiting Saturday night. I couldn’t wait to see Calli dressed up all sexy and do a little bump and grind with her. I am actually an excellent dancer, even if Alpha Ian doesn’t want to admit it. It was so weird introducing him and not using his title. He punched me in the shoulder afterward, something about his wolf needing to display dominance even though he knew why I couldn’t call him Alpha in front of Calli.
His wolf is a dick.
I was a little bit nervous about this outing. Ian and Layla aren’t used to hiding the fact that we’re werewolves, so I was worried they would slip up. But I figure I’m going to need to tell Calli soon and I want her to be comfortable with the Alpha and Luna before that happens. I’m hoping she’ll be less afraid that way.
I know I need to tell her soon, though. Every time we get together, I can feel we’re getting closer to completing the mate bond and if we do, I can’t guarantee my wolf won’t mark her. And I feel like it would be better if she knew what that was before it actually happens.
We’re on our way to Calli’s house. Ian’s driving because he says he doesn’t trust me with our safety. Which isn’t really fair because I only hit that tree that one time because I swerved to avoid a dog.
I’m a fucking hero.
He pulls up in front of Calli’s and I hop out of the car before it’s even stopped completely. I’m so excited I can’t contain myself.
“God damn it, Finn! If I have to take you to the pack doctor tonight because you’re stupid and miss out on the club I’m going to kill you!” Ian screams through Layla’s rolled down window.
I ignore him and climb Calli’s cute little porch and knock on the door. She opens it and my eyes sweep down her body from her bright eyes, wide smile to the tight black, strapless dress and silver strappy heels that make her legs look a mile long.
“You look handsome.” She purrs. I can’t help myself. I lift her by the waist and attack her with kisses. She wraps her legs around me instinctively and I start to carry her into her house towards her bedroom.

“Finn! What are you doing! Put me down!”
“No!” I pout as she pulls back to look at me. She giggles and tries to wiggle out of my arms.
“Your friends are waiting outside for us.”
“It’s fine, this won’t take long.” I say as I try to slide my hand up her dress. She pushes away from me hard and I set her down.
“Let’s go.” She says with a firm look and grabs my hand to tow me along.
Once we’re outside, I scoop her up and carry her to the SUV and she rolls her eyes at me, but the smile on her face kind of takes the attitude out of it. She slips in and I sit next to her, buckling her seat belt before I grab her hand.
“Hey! I’m Layla.” Layla says warmly. Her Luna powers always keep people at ease around her.
Calli introduces herself and the girls make idle chit chat on the way to the club. They are both laughing hysterically at some cat video they saw online by the time we get there, so I think they are getting along quite well. Ian gives me a smug look in the rear-view mirror that makes me wonder if he’s thinking the same thing.
We get to the club and I wrap my arm around Calli’s waist as we walk in. I spent most of the ride rubbing my scent all over her, making sure any other wolves in the area know she’s mine. Once we’re marked and mated, I won’t have to rub her like a cat trying to get a treat, but I’ll make do for now.
The club is loud and smells of alcohol, sweat and sex. The lights are flashing and Calli’s skin almost glows under them. She smiles at me and pulls me towards the bar.
“I don’t think you should drink much.” I tell her. She pouts and sticks out her bottom lip. I lean down to catch it between my teeth before sucking it in my mouth. I let go abruptly and she looks a little dazed, making me smile.
“Why shouldn’t I drink?” She asks.
“I’ve never seen a drop of alcohol in your house, I’m guessing you don’t have great tolerance. Plus you’re tiny.” I chuckle and she narrows her eyes.

“Ok, fine. I don’t really drink, but I’ll have at least one cocktail.” I nod and order her and Layla a drink, plus a few shots for me.
Alcohol doesn’t really affect werewolves as much, but since Ian is driving, he won’t be having any. Plus as Alpha, he always likes to have a clear head in case of emergency.
That’s why I’d rather be Beta.
The girls sit and talk over the loud music while sipping on their drinks. Ian and I talked over mind link about things with the pack until my favorite song came on.
“Come on, sweetheart. Let’s dance.” I call to Calli over the loud music, grabbing her hand and pulling her to the dance floor.
I spin her around and place my hands on her hips, moving to the beat of the music. She wraps her arms around me and smiles as she moves in time with me. I thought I was a good dancer, but the way Calli moves is hypnotic. She manages to be sexy without even trying. She doesn't dance like some girls, who just rub themselves against your junk and call that sexy.
She moves her hands to my chest and continues lowers wrapping her arms around my waist and pulling me flush with her.
"You're so beautiful." I murmur in her ear.
"That's the shots talking." She says, her face heating up in a beautiful blush. I rub my knuckles down the side of her face before kissing her softly.
"Nah, I think that about every five minutes of every day." I whisper in her ear and she shivers in my arms. I flash her a cocky grin, knowing how I affect her. Only because she effects me the same way.
I lean down to catch her lips when Ian mind links me.
'Rogues, Finn. They're trying to start shit. Let's go.' I pop my head up and look at him as he ushers Layla towards the door.
'I thought this was neutral territory?' I ask.
'It is. But you know rogues are fucking crazy. It's not worth starting something over let's just go.' I nod at him.
"Looks like some guys are trying to get in a fight with Ian. Let's head out." Calli looks upset and turns around in time to see Ian and Layla leave.
"But we just got here." She pouts. I put my hand on her lower back and start leading her towards the door.
"I know, babe. I'm sorry. We'll find something else to do. I won't let that fantastic dress go to waste." I wink at her and smile, trying to play down my anxiety.
She giggles and nods, not putting up any more of a fight. We slip in the car and are met with a tense silence. I know Calli can tell something is up, but she doesn't say anything. We're driving for a few minutes before Ian speaks.
"Fuck! They're following us." I look in the rear view mirror and see a truck with three guys in it. Ian makes a few turns and they mirror each one. He's heading toward pack territory, but it'll take awhile to get there.
Too long.
He's on the desolate stretch of highway that leads to our pack when another truck pulls out in front of us, forcing us to stop. Three men get out of that truck as well as the one behind us.
"Shit, Finn. I'm sorry but we have to shift." Calli is shaking in fear next to me, and I know it's about to get worse. I cup her cheeks in my hands and force her to look at me as Ian gets out of the car and shifts onto his paws.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I didn't want you to find out this way. Please stay in the car with Layla no matter what. And remember, I'll never hurt you."
She looks at me with wide eyes, still quaking in fear, but now there's a touch of confusion in her eyes. I kiss her hard and, before she can say anything, I slip out of the car. I pull my shirt and pants off and throw them back on the seat next to Calli.
"Lock the door!" I yell to Layla before slamming it shut.
A rogue is coming at me, a grey wolf with the yellow eyes signaling he's not a normal wolf. I jump in the air and shift before I hit the ground. I tackle him and sink my teeth into his throat and rip it out cleanly, dousing my black fur with blood.
