"Just a chocolate milk shake please" I say with a smile as Grandma kate writes it down,

"Im fine with just water" Kane says before Grandma Kate squints his eyes at both of us,

"You really expect me to only let you guys have one order?" She asks as I look at Kane confusedly,

"For my grandbaby, I'll get you a big old one of my cheeseburgers you used to love when you were a kid with an extra side of fries and my family recipe of Chocolate pie for the both of you guys" she says happily clapping her hands before walking away as I turned to kane who was chuckling nervously,

"So, what did you want to talk about?" I asked as he looked down at the table playing with his hands,

"Do you love Emmet?" he asks looking up at me as I raise an eyebrow,

"Yeah.....Why?" I asked confusedly as he sighs and run a hand through his hair,

"Have you ever thought that ugh..I dont know, one day...he'll be gone?" he asks slowly as I think it over,

"well no, I've never thought about that, Why are you asking me?" I asked as he closed his eyes before opening them again,

"5 years ago....I met a girl" he says as I smile, (He's 19 guys)

"You did?" I asked happily,

"She was the most beautiful girl I've ever met, she was smart, kind, caring. Everything I wasn't. When we first met, I thought she was never gonna like a guy like me. I mean, I was a part of a gang, she was a part of the book club in school. I killed people for money, and she took care of people for their smiles. I slept around, while she was a virgin. I went to bars every Friday nights, while she went to church every Sunday morning. She was an angel, and I was a demon." He says a chuckle as I gestured him to continue with a smile, (He grew up into the gang life)

"When we met, I thought she was gonna turn and run but she did the complete opposite. She smiled and shook my hand" He chuckled while looking at his hand,

"I remember when she told me her name in middle school, even though I already knew what it was" He says with a chuckle,

"Heres your order" Grandma kate says passing us two plate of a humongous cheeseburger with a side of large fries and a chocolate milkshake for me and water for Kane,

"The pie will be done in a few moments, ok kids" she says with a smile before walking off as I sipped my milkshake,

"What was her name?" I ask after gulping down the milkshake,

"Nicole" he answers with a smile as I smile and gesture him to continue his story,

"Me and Nicole were set up together in English class to do a project together, and ever since then we started off as friends" he says happily,

"We hung out so much I didnt notice the guys making fun of me being whipped" he chuckled,

"She was the first person that I actually wanted to take on a date, and so I did" he says before eating a french fry as I bite my burger,

"We stayed out camping underneath the stars, till she got tired and I drove her home. When I dropped her off at her house, I couldn't stop myself from giving her a kiss" he says with a big grin as I smile while tossing a french fry in my mouth,

"After I kissed her I apologized for not controlling myself around her, since she was very stunning that night" he says with a light laugh,

"She said it was fine, then before I turned to leave I finally decided to grow some balls and ask her to my girlfriend" he says as I gasp,

"And she said yes" he says with a full blown smile as I sarcastically wiped a non existence tear from my cheek with a chuckle,

"Ever since she said yes, I was like a little kid clinging onto a teddy bear. Everywhere she went, I went. Everyone she knew, I knew. Everytime a guy disrespected her, I'd make sure that he never saw daylight again. When a guy tried to get within five feet of her, they'd be six feet under" He says as I giggle,

"So what happened to her?" I asked with a smile as his smile dropped and I looked at him confused,

"One night, we were hanging out together in her room like we always did, my phone rang. I answered and it turned out to be one of the dealers that owed me money" he said before taking a sip of water as I waited impatiently for him to continue,

"he told me to meet him in five minutes if I ever wanted get my money, and me being stupid, I went" he says angrily as I gasped,

"What happened?" I asked grabbing his hands across the table as I feel him shaking,

"It was a trap" he said as his eyes got watery and my breath hitched,

"What happened that night Kane?" I asked slowly as I see a tear fall down from his eyes,

"I went to the warehouse he asked me to meet him at, and found it empty with just a sticky note on a medal chair. I picked up the note as only four words came into view "Say goodbye to her". Before I even had time to turn I was knocked out from behind. And when I woke..." he stopped as I gasped,

"She was gone" he says with a sniffle as I looked at him in shock,

"I woke up in her room with her parents body laying in a pool of blood while my angel was.." he stopped letting out a sob as I got up and sat next to him on his side of the booth before letting him cry on my shoulder while I soothe his back,

"She was no where to be found" he says wiping his eyes as I rub his back,

"The fucking police don't wanna do shit, the only thing they said was that, my angel was dead. They didn't have the evidence, but they did find a trail of blood from her bed to the backdoor of her house. They tested it and said it belonged to her" He says before letting out another sob as I try to calm him down,

"Its okay Kane" I whispered as he shook his head,

"How? She was the only person that made me feel okay, and shes gone now" He says as I frown,

"I miss her so much" he says as I nod and rock us back and forth slowly letting him cool down.
