"Can I help you?" I ask a furious looking Aiden. "Why did you go out with Ryan Davis?" Aiden moved aside, giving way for me to walk. "I don't think it's" before I even ended my sentence Aiden cut me off and said "any of your business".

"Yes it is none of your business" replying trying to walk away from him. "Why so secretive?" Aiden raised his eyebrow walking alongside me. "Not secretive, if you tell me who is the girl you went out with I will tell you about mine" I smiled knowing he won't tell me.

"My mum is setting me up with her. Her name is Kelly Smith. Her mother and mine are friends." Aiden shrugged like it wasn't a big deal. How is this guy showing me interest one minute and then suddenly just changed his mind? Just as I thought he was actually into me.

"I went out with Ryan because he paid for my coffee the other day. So I offered to pay for lunch but he switched it to dinner so yeah" I replied trying to get to my apartment faster. "You paid for dinner?" Aiden looked shocked.

"Nope. He said he just wants to go out with me so he tricked me into paying but he took care of the bill. It was cute" I smiled remembering his silly ways of getting me to go out with him. "Yeah it's adorable" he replied while rolling his eyes.

"You are home early for someone who went on a date? Why?" I said while a slight giggle. "I could say the same thing to you, love. Want to get some coffee?" He offered. "It's 10 pm. Don't you want to sleep?" I replied looking at him. I stood there looking at him intently looking at me like I had answered wrongly.

"Sure. I will get decaf coffee. Where?" I walked towards him. "The coffee place opposite our building" Aiden stated and started walking beside me. We went down the lift and Aiden was eyeing me up and down. "You look beautiful by the way" Aiden said looking at the floor.

"Thanks, You look good looking as always" I said looking down too. "So you always think I am good looking" smirking at me. Shit. What do I say now? Why not just be honest. "Yes. You are always good looking, Aiden. Don't let any girl tell you otherwise" I said laughing and turned to Aiden as he just watched me laugh.

"What?" I asked him. "Nothing," Aiden replied and we arrived at the ground floor. While we stepped out of the building Aiden took off his jacket and put it over me. "Don't want you to catch a cold" I could swear I heard him say "or let any men look at my girl" under his breath. I looked at him and said "Thank you. Aren't you cold?" worried that maybe he could be cold too.

"I will manage, love" he replied. We would have to cross the road to get to the cafe. While crossing Aiden took my hand and crossed the road even though there weren't any cars. My heart was fluttering, stupid heart.

We got our coffee and sat down. Instead of sitting opposite of me, Aiden sat beside me instead. My phone rang, the notification states that it was from Ryan.

Before I could even reply Aiden came and saw the text. "Did you enjoy your date with him?" Aiden asked me. "You know I don't appreciate that you read my texts" I replied, narrowing my eyes to him. "I don't care. Answer my question." Aiden said curtly.

"I kind of did. He was fun to talk with and he is kind of cute" I replied Aiden while wanting to finish my text to reply to Ryan when Aiden snatched the phone from me. "HEY!" I was furious that he did that.

"Go out on a date with me," Aiden said, his face suddenly is directly in front of me. I moved back "I thought you already have a girl you are dating?" I asked not feeling jealous at all *sarcasm*. "I only did it to get my mum off my back. So? Date?" Aiden replied, putting my phone into his pocket.

"Why would you want to go out with me?" I asked with heart leaping with joy and sipping my coffee. "Because I asked you before but we never went on one" Aiden replied then sipping on his coffee.

Aiden's sudden interest after seeing me on a date with Ryan confuses me. "Can I ask you something?" I asked. "Sure," Aiden replied, sipping his coffee again. "Why the sudden interest? You were giving me the cold shoulder for so many days then suddenly when I went out on the date with Ryan you are suddenly so friendly?"

We stared at each other for a while when I just shook my head "It's a waste of time trying to get anything from you" I stood up and walked away leaving Aiden at the cafe. I was expecting him to chase after me but of course he isn't going too.

I went back to my apartment and got into the shower. When I got out of the shower I almost screamed when I saw Aiden lying on my bed. I am just wearing my robe with nothing underneath.

"What the hell are you doing in my house?!" I shouted trying to cover my robe tighter to my body. Aiden turned and looked at me like I was a piece of meat in silence. "Well?" I asked again, wanting answers from him.

"Yeah, keep going silent, that has been working out great for you hasn't it? How did you even get into my house? You can't just barge in here like.." before I could finish out rant Aiden suddenly stood up from my bed and walked in long strides towards me and kissed me.

I stood there in shock and when he wrapped his arms around me, I gave in and reacted to his kiss. After a while, I pulled back and he just looked down while I stared at him wanting answers. "What was that?" I asked with tears in my eyes. Is he just playing around with me?

"I wanted you to stop your rant" Aiden still not looking at me. "That was the best solution for you? Kissing a girl to shut them up? Maybe the girls you have been with are like that but not me. Get out. Now." I pulled away and started walking away from him when he suddenly pulled me back in his arms and hugged me.

"You are not like the other girls" Aiden said while hugging me tighter. "What is all this, Aiden?" I said, pulling away and looking at him. His eyes finally met mine. "I can't explain this feeling I have for you because I have never felt like this before," Aiden said just staring into my eyes caressing my cheeks.

I was confused by what he just said. Did he mean he never loved someone before? Or is he just confused by his feelings? "What is it that you are feeling? Talk to me" I replied. "I can't. I'm sorry, I have to go" Aiden removed himself from me and started walking away.

"So that's it? One day you gave me all the care in the world the next you gave me a cold shoulder then you kissed me and now you are walking away? I'm not a toy Aiden! You can't just do that!" I replied and then the door slammed. I slid down to the floor and started crying.

I got up and went to bed wanting to forget about all this. He can't just do this to me. I won't have it. I need to get away from him and forget about him.

When I woke up I felt like going for a jog, when I left my apartment I saw a girl leaving Aiden's apartment with hair tangled up and smudged make-up. So, that's how it's going to be then? Fine. We got in the same lift and I saw that the girl started crying. Should I ask?

"You okay?" I asked while passing her some tissue. "No. Can you imagine sleeping with a guy but he kept calling someone else's name instead of yours in bed?" I was bawling her eyes out when telling me. "Ellie oh Ellie. Why didn't he sleep with her then?" she continued explaining. My eyes went wide when I heard the name.

"What did you say her name was?" I asked again, wanting to hear it again in case I was mistaken. "Ellie or Elaine. Something like that. Why do you know her?" she shrugged then looked at me. "No I don't know anyone by that name" I replied and when the door opened I walked out leaving her there.

I went for my run on my normal route and after 30 mins of jogging I went to the nearby coffee shop to get my coffee. Suddenly, I heard gunshots behind me, glasses shattering and people screaming. I quickly crouched and covered my head. Then, I heard the car sped off.

When I opened my eyes, I was stunned. There was blood, glass, and liquid all over the floor. My head was ringing and I started getting a panic attack. I couldn't breathe and I fell landing on the shattered glass on the floor and all I saw was blood.

I was still trying to breathe when I heard my name "Ellie! Ellie!" I saw someone that looks a lot like Aiden running towards me but my eyes were blurry and I thought I was dreaming. I felt him hold me and told me to breathe slowly. He was holding my hand and asked me to follow his breathing which I did and soon I got a hold of myself.

I looked around and realized that it was a reality. I stood up slowly and started helping others who needed help. I saw 2 people have already succumbed to their injuries so I requested the barista table cloths to cover them. Aiden was also helping out the others.

I heard the police siren and ambulance arriving. There were several casualties and when the ambulance arrived I forgot that I had injuries until Aiden told one of the paramedics and came to me to treat it. I was sitting in the ambulance getting my treatment and that's when I saw news reporters and cameras coming in.

Aiden came and asked if my injuries are bad and if I would have to go to the hospital. "I'm okay, I don't need to go to the hospital. Are you done?" I asked the paramedic and ignored Aiden's presence. "Yes" The paramedic replied. I thanked him and limped my way back to the apartment.

Not even halfway there Aiden swooped me and carried my bridal style to our apartment. I argued saying that I could walk and all he did was give me a blank stare. In the lift, it was awkward because both of us didn't talk to each other and just waited for the lift to arrive on our floor.

When we arrived, instead of bringing me to my apartment he brought me to his instead. "Where do you think you are bringing me?" I said frustratedly and tried to get off. All he did was tighten his arms around me and brought me to his room.
