《learning to love》1

I was laying on my bed with my eyes closed thinking about the conversation I had with my parents an hour ago.

They've arranged an marriage for me and didn't even care to tell me anything, and an hour ago they told me to get ready for dinner with my soon-to-be-husband and his family.

I wasn't feeling anything, completely numb. I've always been treated like this, everyone made me feel useless. And I think that's the right word for me they always made me do things that I wasn't even interested in, I was sent to a boarding school when I was 8. I've never had a good friendly interaction with them. And now they've fixed my marriage with some stranger so my dad can have someone who can handle his business as his 'loving' son denied to take over the family business.

I don't get to meet my brother often. He Lives abroad for his studies, to follow his passion and I'm here forced into being a perfect obedient daughter.

I opened my eyes as the door opened revealing my 'mom' standing with a hand on her waist.

"Didn't I tell you to get ready" she said her tone clearly impatient.

"Mummy, I don't want this marriage, please" My voice was cracking as I tried not to stutter. She scoffed and glared at me.

"Why else do you think we raised you for? Be thankful that I'm at least doing all this for you else you, you can't just stay in my house spend my money and be completely useless for me" she crossed her arms in front of her chest and continued glaring at me "I want you ready in the next half hour"

With that she slammed the door and I dropped myself on bed, it's somehow good you know, at least I can stay away from these fake people after marriage.

I wish he isn't rude or bossy, please.

I got up from bed and walked towards the closet where my dear mother kept my dress.

I am very sarcastic, bear with it.

........

They're here.

My breathe is getting heavier with each passing second. I don't want this, seriously.

I took a deep breathe and exhaled to relax myself. I looked in the mirror.

"It's okay Pihu you went through a lot this can't be any bad than all that" I closed my eyes and sighed placing a hand on my chest to calm my breathe.

I opened my eyes only to be startled by the door opening with jerk.

"Down, and don't dare you mess anything, just do everything as you are told to"

I nodded as my mother politely asked me to go down. I stood up and fixing my mustard yellow sharara suit and dupatta. I don't really like yellow but this shade was a little pretty and the red and pink shades made it look more pretty.

I walked down following my mother and smiled at the couple sitting in front of me I greeted them to which they smiled and my mom asked me to sit next to her.

"Mr Malhotra where's Samir?" My dad broke the silence and everyone including me looked at him and then at Mr. Malhotra.

"He's on a call, will be here in a sec" My dad nodded and Mrs Malhotra spoke.

" I have to say that you've got a really pretty daughter Samir will be head over heels for her " She smiled so did my mother.

And then I heard footsteps approaching us, it's him I know. I kept looking at my lap as a he greeted my parents with his deep and harsh voice.

I already have the felling that he's not sweet or easy to get along with.

When did I start judging people with their voice?

I was pulled back from my thoughts by my mom as she tapped her foot lightly on mine. I looked at her and she eyed me to look at him and greet him.

Why what's the need for me to look at him? You've already fixed everything my dear mother.

I raised my head to look at him as he pulled a chair next to his mother.

I don't drool over anyone but he's so handsome. So handsome.

"Uh-uh" His mother looked at him. "Sit next to Pihu" I looked at her and then at him. He looked at his mother for a second and came around to sit next to me.

I didn't say anything the whole time while our parents were busy talking about business and he, I don't know what he was doing I didn't dare to look up the whole time although my neck was hurting from looking down the whole time.

After 10 minutes for their talking the maid served us dinner and the food was looking mouth watering.

Everyone started eating and as I gulped down a spoonful I started having light hiccups. It's spicy and I can't bear spicy food.

Everyone started looking at me.

"Pihu, you okay? " My dad asked me as I nodded.

"Excuse me" I stood up and walked to the kitchen to get me some water.

I drank some water and sighed placing the glass down.

"I just want it to be over" I groaned and placed my hands on the back of my neck. I shook my neck as I was tired of looking down.

"Pihu" I flinched at the sudden voice and turned around to see Samir. His voice is so deep, scary yet sexy.

"Sorry" I said not looking at him.

"Why are you apologizing I'm the one who startled you, " He walked towards me.

"Are you okay? "

I nodded.

"Should we go back there? " He asked trying to look me in the eyes but I looked everywhere except him.

No

"Sure" As I tried to walk past him he held my wrist. His grip was firm but not harsh. He lightly pulled me in front of him and I looked at him for a millisecond before turning away.

"I have a feeling that you're being forced to do all this"
