《DIEGO'S INNOCENCE》CHAPTER SIXTY-SIX

I watch Siara as she walks passed the door, a look of awe on her face. I feel a bit nervous, wondering if she really likes it, or if I am getting the wrong message from her facial expression. Faces are deceiving.
I follow behind her, anxious to know how she feels. I stand behind her, admiring how the wind blows her hair. Her hair is in curls today, and I am loving it.
"This is beautiful," She whispers, looking at the the settings.
Siara did tell me about her love for nature and sunsets, and that is why I organized a date out in the sunset.
I would have loved it if we came here earlier because I wanted to spend a lot of time with her, but I can not control time.
"I am glad to hear you say that," I whisper holding her hand, a habit I have developed over time. I feel like I can tell her that I will protect her by holding her hand, it sounds stupid, but I just want to show her that I will be next to her. I want to show her that I will be holding her hand when she passes through different obstacles of life, even when she decides to let go of mine.
"Shall we sit down?" I ask, and Siara nods as a response. I lead her to the sitting area, helping her sit.
The deck has been decorated with some flowers, and a glass of wine has been placed on the table. The wine was placed minutes before we arrived, the driver did call Ricco before we started off from court.
I move to sit opposite Siara, admiring how beautiful she looks. I love the smile that is on her face, it shows me that I did something right.
"The chef will bring the food here in a few minutes; I am sure Ricco told him about our arrival," Siara nods, looking at me with a small frown. "What's wrong?" I question worriedly.
"Nothing. I am just not used to this.... I have never even been on a boat, let alone a yacht. I guess my brain is still processing the situation," Siara says with a small smile. I nod at her as a response.

I actually understand her, I was never born with the riches and I had the same reaction when Mr Brown brought me in. Mr Brown showed me this lifestyle, and I will never forget how lost I looked when I saw the riches.
"Do you mind telling me about you and Ricco? You looked so friendly with him, and that is rare to see," Siara boldly says. She blushes a few minutes later which makes me laugh. She looks beautiful when she blushes.
"Ricco and I met ten years ago, I met him months after I was appointed as Don," I answer, knowing fully well that she knows what I do. Everyone in town knows. "At first he seemed scared of me, but as time went by, he became friends with Hunter. I have never been a friendly person, I love my space and I do not like being friendly with people I have not known for along time..... Fast forward, Ricco found me inside my room, here in this same yacht, with a bottle of pills in hand. I overdosed that day, and luckily he found me before I could die.... I started seeing him as a father figure when he was helping me recover. I never really did see him when I went to the supreme jail, I never did want to see people when I was there."
The food is brought out when I am done talking. Siara and I thank the chefs as they place the food on the table. I tell them to leave, serving the food myself.
"Thank you," Siara says as I serve her the food. The chefs cooked some pasta, chicken, paella, lobster and they also baked a chocolate cake, Siara's favorite.
"Its crazy how they call it supreme jail. Like why don't they call it prison.... People spend a lot of time in there," Siara says after she swallows her food.
"Yeah, that's true. But I guess the word supreme, explains everything. People in there are usually rich, and some committed very harsh crimes; I guess it's a way of separating the prisoners from the word. The supreme jail is very isolated, and a lot of people do not even know where it is." I answer eating from my food. Siara nods, her face showing understanding.

"Tell me more about yourself, your friends and even your childhood. But only if you are comfortable," I say looking at her in the eyes.
Siara smiles, telling me about her childhood and family. She has told me somethings about herself, and there is no limit when it comes to knowing a person. A person learns something new about himself or herself everyday, and that is why I want to learn more about her.
We finish eating after a while, moving to sit at the small bar.
The plates have already been taken back to the kitchen, and now Siara and I are enjoying a glass of wine as we sail back to base.
"So, you will leave before sunrise?" Siara asks, sadness in her voice.
"Yes. I want to go there before sunrise because I do not want a lot of people to see me," I answer, looking at my glass.
"Oh,"
"I might be back next month, and you can also visit me there," I say, trying to make her less sad.
"I will make sure I do that," Siara glances at me, forcing a smile in my direction.
I do not know what to say next. I am no talker, and it is hard for me to talk to a sad person, comforting someone is something I am also bad at.
"Can you drop me off at my parents house?" Siara asks, nervousness in her voice.
It hurts me to see her like this. I want to comfort her. But I fail to do so, I end up nodding at her instead.
We are back on land, and both Siara and I wish Ricco our goodbyes, and I promise to see him again.
We get back to the car, both of us silent. There is this uncomfortable tension in the car, and I do not like it. I want to pull Siara in a hug, to tell her that I will be back very soon. I want to give her speeches. But I can not find the words.
"Promise to get better," I hear her beautiful voice say, which makes me look at her. " I want you to assure me, to tell me that you will find your purpose to live," Siara murmurs, looking into my eyes with tears in hers.
"I promise to come back better, I promise that I will try to fight for my will to live." I say, wiping the tear from her eye. "And I want you to get better as well. You have to fight those demons that tell you horrible stuff, I want you to show them whose boss. I want you to destroy those voices, before they destroy you."
Siara nods at me, silently promising me as she hugs me.
"I will miss you," She whispers in my ear. I hold her waist, pulling her closer as I rest my head on her shoulder.
"I will miss you too," I whisper.
We break from our hug when the driver announces our arrival. The driver opens the door, standing behind it.
I wait for Siara to leave, but she does not even move an inch. Siara looks me in the eyes, the moon being our source of light.
"I love you," She says, pressing her lips on mine. I am left shocked when I process the words she just said.
I never thought she will say them. I never even thought she loved me, maybe liked, but never love.
It takes a while for me to get out of my shocked state, but when I do, I end up kissing her like there is no tomorrow.
Siara and I break our kiss moments later, both of us breathing heavily.
"I love you," I whisper to her.
Siara smiles at me with tears in her eyes, pecking me one last time before she leaves the car.
I watch her as she enters the house, the driver closing the door after I tell him to.
The car starts moments later, my heart joyous as I remember her words.
I promise to get better, Siara.
