《DIEGO'S INNOCENCE》CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE

SIARA'S POV.

The driver starts the car when Diego enters, driving away from the supreme court.

Diego was speaking to the judge after the hearing, he said he had to thank her.

"How did it go?" I ask Diego, watching as he drinks from the whiskey that was put in the car by Hunter, for celebration.

"It went well," Diego replies, removing his jacket, unknowingly flexing his muscles.

I clench my legs when I see this, quickly looking at his face. I can feel my face warming up, embarrassed and happy, happy because he did not catch me looking.

"Cara was happy with what she did.... Ken did harass her when she was younger, and her sentencing the two people was like closure. She is happy because the two won't harm kids in prison," Diego answers, throwing the jacket in the back.

"But, how do you feel? Do you think they deserved such a sentence?" I question, placing my hand on his lap. I am a bit worried, thinking that this situation might hurt him in the near future.

"I am not happy with Eric and Bianca's sentence, I think they deserved more," He kisses the back of my hand after he answers. "But I am happy about Ken and Anna; the two ruined a lot of lives, and they tramatized a lot of people. They acted like saints when they were really snakes.... I just know that the church will be disappointed, and I honestly don't care. But I do care about the people, a lot of them will think that their faith is weak.... They will lose hope because they believed in the man..... Some of them worshipped Ken and Anna, they never worshipped God. They will stop believing in the good, and it's sad."

Diego's words are true. It's sad how people worship their fellow humans, and it is really heartbreaking when they stop believing in something just because someone they looked up to, did wrong. People forget that their idols are also human sometimes.

"Let's stop talking about them," Diego says, placing the whiskey bottle away. "Are you ready for our date?" Diego asks, looking into my eyes.

A smile comes on my face when Diego mentions the date. I am so happy because I will finally get to spend time with him. This will just be about the two of us, and hopefully everything will go well.

"I am so ready. I was born ready," I wink at him when I say the last sentence, which makes him smile.

"I'm glad to hear that," Diego says, placing a kiss on my knuckles. I find myself smiling, my heart full of joy.

The car is in silence, Diego and my eyes meeting every now and then.

"We are here," The driver announces, breaking the silence.

Diego gives me a small smile as the door opens. I watch as he gets out of the car, stretching his hand out to me. I smile at him, placing my hand in his.

I am left in awe when my feet meet the ground, my eyes seeing the beauty that surrounds the place.

Diego brought me to the ocean, the beautiful water sparking as the sun reflects on it.

"This is beautiful," I whisper under my breath.

"Do you like it?" Diego asks, as we walk closer to it. I can see people at a distance, boats and yachts are also present.

"Like it? I love it," I answer looking at the beautiful environment. There is a lot of sand as well, and I am thankful for my sandals; I would have fallen on my ass if I came here in heels.

"I am glad to hear that," Diego says, gently squeezing my hand. "I hope you love my next surprise," He says as we watch towards the boats. I have never been to the ocean, and this just gives me mixed emotions, happiness and nervousness mostly.

We continue to walk till we stop in front of a yacht, a beautiful big yacht.

"Wow!" This is beautiful," I answer, admiring the yacht. I can feel Diego's eyes on me as he leads me to the stairs that lead to the entrance.

"I am so happy to hear you say that. I was afraid, thinking that you would not like this place." Diego helps me climb the stairs, following behind me.

"You thought wrong.... I am a fan of nature, and even though I feel anxious being this close to the water, I love that I am here, with you. I know that you will protect me," I utter looking at Diego, a smile gracing his face as he looks at me.

"I will die protecting you," He says, squeezing my hand.

We continue walking inside, our feet dragging us further inside. Diego and I meet a man before we can go further inside, the man looks to be in his fifties. The man smiles as Diego and I walk towards him.

"Welcome Diego," The man says, pulling Diego in a hug, his voice sounding mexican. "Its so good to see you," The man continues, happiness in his voice.

I can hear Diego chuckle as he wraps his arms around the man.

"It's good to see you too, Ricco," Diego says, grabbing my hand when they separate from their bro hug.

"I thought Hunter was lying when he told me about you coming here," The man says as he laughs. Diego has a smile on his face, shaking his head at the man.

I feel happy seeing the interaction. Diego smiling at the man makes me feel happy, I have never seen him happy with other people.

"I am so sorry Ms-"

"Siara," I say, smiling at the man when I see that he has finally noticed me.

"I am so sorry, Ms Siara. I didn't notice you before, my focus was on Diego. I haven't seen him in a long time, and seeing him again just made me happy..... I hope you can forgive me," The man says with worry and sadness in his voice. I can tell that he is sorry by the way his voice sound, and that is why I smile at him.

"I understand you..... I would act the same if I saw someone after a long time, especially if the person is Diego," The man smiles when I utter the words, happiness present on his face.

"I like your sense of humor,"

"Thank you." I say looking at him. The man is in casual wear, but there is a small badge on his chest which says helmsman.

"I will leave you two now, I have to sail the yacht now.... It was good to see you Diego, and I hope we can grab some drinks one of these days, Hunter included." Diego nods at Ricco before he leaves.

"I have one last surprise for you," Diego says looking into my eyes.

"What is it?" I ask, a goofy smile on my face.

Diego does not say anything, he pulls me towards another door instead. Diego looks at me, offering me a small smile before opening the door.

"Welcome to our date," Diego says as my jaw drops in awe.
